Imagine some of the cars like the one with square wheels or the stanced asterope. The vibrations would probably break the poor wheel xD
as horrible as that sounds, to fully utilize the race wheel you need a special mod script to run it, and PH servers block outside mod scripts to prevent cheating.
I went from a T500 to the R21. What a difference!!!!

Literally just ordered this exact wheel and base last week! Heard that the lunar new year suspended MOZA’s processing and shipping from their facilities as of late so hopefully I’ll it will be shipping out by the end of the week or the next.

Great review! Also came from a thrust master setup, super happy with the upgrade, its major, way more immersive.. I went with the r9 base only and converted my r383 TM sparco wheel to a USB using a Arduino micro and 3d printed adapter.. works well! Would love that rim, something I may get later 👍
I think by now after all these years you can start with "hi Adam". Up to you dude. Love all your videos I would love to see (as you did with the gfred) 150+ cannonball, re-named carnage. Keep going bud much love 👍❤️👍
Direct drive wheels are also using a special type of motor, a stepper motor which is significantly more accurate & stronger. They are whats used in like CNC machines

Ironically I’ve found myself having transitioned to the DD world as well, and can confirm it’s a massive difference. I came from a Logitech G29 (when if first came out, so quite a few years old) and went to a Moza R5. I was a little skeptical about getting the most affordable DD wheel on the market, as it is just over half the price of, say, the Logitech direct drive wheel. But even then it was still 2.5x stronger feedback than the Logitech. The best analogy I can make is that the G29 feels like a toy whereas the Moza feels like a proper tool.
The Moza software is such a massive step up from Logitech’s awful and often (in my case at least) unresponsive G Hub. Would 100% recommend if people can afford it.
Been using the exact same steering wheel and base for nearly a year now and i love it. Also came from a T300RS GT and the change is, like you said crazy. Before i couldnt really drive the formula 1 car in iracing and with this combo it felt so much more natural.
Also I never got hurt or something by the wheel when crashing. Since its "only" 9nm its strong enough to give amazing ffb but not so strong to break your hand. But you will probably experience that soon. :D
This comment might cost me $400 , but might be different between becoming race sim enthusiasts and a lukewarm reception

Still running my old T300 but direct drives are idd getting alot cheaper. But i don't really have that much space for a full rig. Its not a wheel stand but a playseat challenge. Do you think something like that would hold up with a DD wheel. I'm not looking to set it full power obviously i don't even get near full power with the T300. I'm not wanting the wheel to have more power nessesairly but i wouldn't mind all the extra detail that you feel.

Do you find the wheel stand going between your legs (and between brake and accelerator) getting in the way? I tried a stand like that at a shop once and it just didn't feel right.
I did wonder whether that would be a problem when I first got it but I’ve honestly never even thought about it m, it hasn’t been an issue at all

Im from Thurstmaster TX wheel which is a good wheel and I broke it in 1 year then I swich to G29 and start my iracing into 2k then back to Thurstmaster in TGT2 this time and I love it lol
DD is kinda expansive for me and only Moza is avaliable in HK online store but I want to buy the Thursty T818 first then see what wheel I am upgrading
now on, I will use my TGT2 first at least I like the feeling on the wheel LOL

T-LCM pedals aren't good enough? Monitor isn't possible to change due to space limitations.
@@broughy1322 They are quite good, but I've seen simracing "aliens" use a Logitech G29 with Heusinkveld Sprint or Ultimate pedals as a good pedal set gives you better control over the car you're driving; some say it is more important than a good wheelbase
The T-LCM is loadcell so he is set. The thing he can do with it if he is not happy how the brake feels is swap out the springs to some elastomer to make it feel closer to a real brake.
So to sum up - this $1500+ wheel set up I got for free is better than the 8 year old wheel that is a quarter of the price.

Belt tech on TGT2 do better than on my DD wheel,bcs no ffb loss,u are unabe to determite where sliding is usefull.But also wheel is not where u get advantange,u need some natural talent,i know people with G923 beating a crap out of DD users.

@@happygster922 don't understand your question mark,DD wheel also have it's own downsides,I have TGT2 with load cell pedals and also DD wheel,DD wheel doesn't give u that usefull grip loss like it does TGT and mostly u lose time there bcs of that.

tbf I am using tgt2 and thinking dd wheel is more easier to save the car and the driving pace is no different on this 2 type of wheel.But dont tell me G29 wheel is better KEKW
low base wheel is very hard to save the car and only good on driving some difficult car like Ferrari GT3 Evo
@@johnsonjdmracing8450 not saying G29 is better than TGT2 but i know few ppl that do great lap times on G923 and that is part of natural talent of course.When u are slower just 0.2 from world record and u have shitty wheel,that means something,for example my friend who own that one,was 26th on world with like 0.3 sec behind 1st guy on last event I drove in GT7(Sardegna+GR4 Subaru).Am more into street car racing,no pp just limit bhp,and for me my TGT2 gives me more comfort than DD Pro and Logitech Pro.
