- credit to ShinGodzilla on psn for the OG version of this build. guys we counter burzel zimms, nebula tank (nebtank), Lamm kite, and more. we use the lra laser rifle, the laser pistol, 6 cell missiles, pulse shield, with allmind and HAL parts and 20b generator to create a very efficient and powerful midweight kite build that has the option to chase and rushdown if needed. hope you guys enjoy.

It's been interesting to see that up at S ranks there's a lot of viable options still.
It gives me genuine hope that this game doesn't have to be stuck in a meta loop, and we can still have some fun with custom machines.
Also, is it just me, or does it feel like there's a really small skill gap between the different ranks? I've seen braindead S ranks, and brilliant B ranks. It's kinda wild
I wouldn't say there is build variety tbh. Tank is still hard meta and the best option to grind elo. But the reason why the skill gap is small is because you can win 70% of your games in the garage if your build is cringe enough. A lot of players who are S rank this season will not be S rank when they patch out the BS
Dude I love the breakdown for the AC in the beginning, you kept it real about the choices like "look it sucks here, but its good here for this".
And totally agree man, the P04 Booster is a sleeper, very overlooked and a great choice for medium weights.
Yeah man I think every part should be a conscious decision and the final product is a cohesive strategy that has a coherent game plan of what to accomplish and how to get there, with relevant answers for the most likely threats. I see a lot of people just slapping parts together and putting on random weapons and it shows in their play.

I enjoy how after tons of bullshit going up the ranks, people open up and explore their own taste and meta counters up on S-rank. I'm still on C and I'm already tired of heavy rifleswap builds and tanks.
I never went heavy on my climb. I played my spin on BVO against swap build and nebtank and burzel zimms etc. and got there through pain and mechanical ability. Now that I'm here though I'm treating S rank like a science lab to instantly get Qd up against some of the dumbest builds in the game (pilot skill may vary)

I absolutely ADORE you going out of your way to explain your builds in detail and why your builds are the way they are. I love when people put actual thought behind their ACs and manage to work around certain aspects they see fit and not simply just slapping boring/annoying meta stuff together and calling it a day. i used to encounter javelin beta and active homing users in my lighter shield build. it was hell trying to dodge them, and the betas just go around and hit me in the back

I enjoy facing shin anytime i play against him. I just have to really optimize my JOA for my midweight.
The Laser Pistol is becoming my favorite gun on the game. The charge time and ammo supply is what does it for me. In the time it takes to stop & shoot a cannon or grenade launcher you can charge it to follow up & get good stun damage as well as damage overall.

You played great against that JVLN build. The reason i switched into the VPM over it was because if they AB into you and they get within 50m of the missile's initial arc, it won't track at all. If they back pedal to 360m or so, then it runs out of juice. VPM was more stable for me.

I feel so bad for that one guy who managed to blow you up with Assault Armor while going for Pulse Armor and then completely flubbed the follow up.
Your video really help to understand what matter in ac build, lots of "how to build" video out there but none give real advices.
Yeah man a lot of people just Stat stack and throw on whatever weapons and boosters are 'op' but this really doesn't deliver a finished product. The best builds have conscious decisions made for each part and the sum is greater with a cohesive game plan and strategy that forms. Even the OP braindead meta builds are very well thought out, that's why they're so strong.

I like that TALBOT choice, my man.
My primary build was using P05, but i realized that with high spec arms like ALBA, the difference between it and WLT in mid range acquisition was negligible. I switched to WLT because of better close and far acquisition, its just more stable across all ranges. I had a 5200-ish EN efficiency anyways, so dropping down to 4400-ish with the 20C didn't hurt.
If your primary range is midrange WLT is the goat, p05 if you need the extra efficiency. For midrange that leans a little closer talbot is the move.
@@W1RoburThe arm weapon choice is great, too. I had another build that had dual plasma rifles, and it has had trouble...until i switch one out for the TURNER. Much better outcomes.

charged Nebula's basically a close ranged weapon. Definitely have to kite away and force them to AB-kick in where they're basically taking free damage to get in.
I wouldn't underestimate Assault Armor. Through my experience, it hard counters close range builds like BOV. One could even use it on their own melee build and catch opponents that try to strafe, or if that opponent's mobility is limited /hindered.
It's not bad but armor is more consistent and has more uses
I'm sorry but I just live for nuking VBO "monkey see stagger:monkey charge melee" people, assault armor all the way
@jeremy7157 yeah if they're bad and don't counter with armor or learn from mistakes and melee cancel to bait the AA lol. Bad bvo players are embarrassing man. People think "omg vientos op" and then get fucking cooked because they have no clue how to pilot

Against stun guns I will usually just hold the shield up as I exchange fire with them on my right hand.
Then when The shield hits 3/4ths I put it down so I still have energy to IG anything I need.
Rinse and repeat
This is probably the coolest "viable" build I've seen in the A or S tiers, REALLY love the design, great job bro :)

You should turn your sound effect volume down in game, it washes out your commentary with the explosions and pew pew noises. Nice build.
My favorite fight was against the missile rat halfway trough the video, the first time you dropped the shield was specially badass, you should have popped armor when he was low ap to remind it nobody respects rats, they are the broccoli hair equivalent of armored core

Bunch more booster stuff I noticed: when you're on the ground your QB speed is augmented way higher than listed, also while you're thrusting upwards your total speed is way higher than listed boost speed.
Yup your grounded qb uses your jump distance Stat to amplify distance. And the aerial qb isn't faster it's just a compound number of x and y axis speed
@@W1Robur like you, I make a lot of use of vertical spacing and it's really changed my opinion on boosters... like in terms of what's on the speedometer, budget boosters' combined speed is closer to Allula and SPD when they try to fly. On the ground QB cost (and reload) are basically the only thing that matter, your legs will shove you hard enough to get out of the way.
@jonbezeau3124 great points on the aerial combined speed never thought of it in that way but it's a fantastic point
You ever consider using SUQ shield or at least trying it out? It's very cheaper in energy supply and it has a bit longer IG time. Also, I have fought this AC before on my tank

God I fucking hate the efficiency on this but this is an actually very good well-rounded build made for alot of the bullshit the game throws at you, the shit en eff also teaches you EN management
After fighting in S rank, most of these guys play more like B rankers, not many are dodging and not many are moving away when you PA. This build is good against HW and tanks or people who don't dodge often. in terms of off meta? Close but no cigar. it can still be countered by good players.

I’ve also been loving the 6 cell even on big fat Homunculus builds that could run a 10 I’d pick the 6 the faster reload allows you to keep up a constant deluge of rockets.

Where is this recoil formula from and how does it factor in bazooka which doesnt have fire rate at all?
Recoil control not important for single shot weapons lol. But what you can do is divide recoil by fire rate and plug in that new number with a fire rate of 1
How viable is it to change the pistol with the bop-66lr instead of pistol, and replacing the VE-66LRA with the VE-66LRB? To add more firepower with minimal speed and energy consumption differences.

I'm about 40 and 2 win/loss currently on a Wuerger cat build. Super gay femboy rainbow decals on my AC and people are RAGING after getting beat pahahah.

I guess what I mean is that this shield is so strong and easy to use that you can slap it on any non-lightweight and you automatically fare better against other meta builds. even by not using it properly but "spamming" it a little.
The only skill based thing meta builds run lol. If something is 'meta' but requires brain power and mechanical ability to use I give it a pass, plus the rest of the build is pretty funky. At the end of the day it needs to compete with the BS people bring into ranked in S tier and the shield really helps.

yeah it's less broken than tanks and vientos but it's also very very easy to use due to the amount of times it can be deployed before overheating, and the cooldown.
@cridus_ it's definitely the most forgiving shield but that makes it consistent which is what gets you ELO

Fcs impacts targeting more than firearm spec, but also recoil is huge factor. Depends what is in your offhand and what your recoil control is.
