I never played Armored Core 4 but damm do I love the aaliyah design, and Well done on replicating it play style. 👍 I'm started getting into rank matches. I run a similar set up, dual AR medium weight reverse joint AC with medium dual missile launcher.
Nice to see some people still use honest builds rather than just Rat or Lazer Canon Tank builds. I am sure they would have made a patch but sadly Japan got hit by that Earthquake stagger into tsunami punish combo.
The fight against the blader at 2:45 was real nice. Great plays on both sides. Also, I’m surprised those Tankers aren’t mixing up sustain and burst damage on their load outs, they don’t have the luxury of popping in and out, so they need to focus on keeping lightweights pinned with sustain and pushing commitment with the cannons. Going 4x cannons allows lightweights to just dance around them.
Before 1.05, “bazooka tanks” were infamous because the warning system that tells you when the bazooka shell is coming your way was bugged; it would tell you way too late, and this bug only happened with the heavy tank legs. Now the heavy tank legs have a new issue: they sometimes don’t remain staggered when you’re smacking them with a melee weapon, so using the laser slicer on them is a death sentence for light weights since you can’t quick boost away during the animation. Long story short, there’s a huge reason why laser tanks are part of the meta at high ranked.

I managed to reach B rank with this build a short while ago (probably would’ve been faster if I hadn’t been playing a bunch of Elden Ring getting ready for the new DLC lol). However, I made a few changes, and have two variants. Both of them use the G2/P05 FCS take advantage of mid range combat while having a lower EN load (albeit it’s not as good up close as the tablet admittedly, had to really learn to skirt the 120m-200m range of the opponent), and the VP-44D head for lower EN load and better defenses/attitude stability/AP. The first variant I use BASHO arms for better AP and overall defenses, the second uses the Lammy arms for better recoil control to help keep the Ludlow on target a bit longer, though they also have different paint schemes which is the real reason I switch between them lol. I don’t hate my heavy weights, but going back to my old school LW Armored Core play style has been a blast.

Funny thing is I actually made one a while back, but I had no choice but to use the bubble shoulder weapon to replicate the chain gun. Now that there’s an actual shoulder gat I’ll have to take another look at it.
Awesome piloting Raven, can you please explain why you chose the Yaba over VP-20C, I tryed to find a reason to use the Yaba on some builds but always revert back to the VP-20C simply because of the EN output.
Sure. It’s the post en recovery on the YABA that works the same as the coral Gen for more high burst movement. This is after the buff in 1.03. I don’t have to worry about red lining as much due to how fast it recovers if I do.

Yessir. It got a buff in 1.03. I love it. You get almost half back if you red line and it has real good en output and capacity
So I'm guessing the best way to do a ballistic build is to have two different rates of fire for accuracy as opposed to focusing on fire power.

So it’s more of a high risk high reward generator for aggressive play styles that I prefer.

I feel like laser weapons miss way too much in pvp…seems like it’s not a good weapon unless ur fighting a tank
Ya lasers are a harder one since you can’t spam them. But testing between arms and a good FCS for your play-style definitely helps.
