@@nelsonzhang1369 Thank you so much!! I lived in Sydney for 10 years and never filmed as much as I did in this trip being back on holidays. Always happens like this :)
@@OfTwoLands That's awesome, I just shot on the Sigma 18-35 at night in my video I just posted on Saturday there and was getting a lot of crushed details and so much noise at 1250 and that's an F/1.4!
I was in Sydney back in 2007, this film feels so real it brought back so many memories. Thank you! Thank you blackmagic design for making cinematography so accessible to us!
as someone who owns a 6K Pro this makes me proud to be a owner of this camera it truly a underrated camera and the image quality is just unexplainable and another I’ve noticed people like myself who film with this camera and upload cinematic videos like this on TH-cam it’s always in the true widescreen format the real cinematic black bars I love it this felt like a movie thanks for sharing this it got me inspired all over again 🎥 subscribed 🫵🏿
There is something of a tragic feeling i feel. This gorgeous world you’ve captured has a musical score that is mournful yet beautiful and painful. Like a memory of a loved place and time already past.
I always tend to gravitate towards ambient/sad music and I thought that one matched the footage quite well. We did have a sense of bittersweet memory and nostalgia visiting a place we used to live in.
Your composition of shots has always amazed me but this was just stunning. The sound paired with these visuals made me a little emotional haha ... made me proud to call this place home. You captured it all so beautifully. And so steady! Little Finn's reaction to the fireworks was priceless. Loved it.
OMG absolutely breathtaking!! I must've watched this like 8 times in a row now. Can we pleaseeee get a film breakdown? I wanna know how you got these shots like the cloud timelapse at 2:17. Incredible!!

Incredible work. There's something about the Blackmagic cinema camera that gets you hooked to the screen. Watched it on my OLED TV. I personally prefer Super 35 to full frame cameras. You're very talented. I own a Blackmagic 4K and a Sony FX30. We also shoot with RED and Arri and Blackmagic looks so close to Arri. Thank you for this.
This is so breathtaking and real at the same time... The sea shots have some Christopher Nolan's TENET feel to them, for some reason. Probably the boat grip shots, I dunno :) Great taste in framing a color too. Thank you!
Just what I needed to see today, absolutely incredible work. Your grades and compositions are what only people can dream of! Keep up the amazing work, inspiring others and come back to Australia soon!
really well done! gives me some ideas for my next trip (to Southern California next week). i think i'm just bringing my bmpcc 4k and the OG. i want to keep it light and simple.
Great content yet again, Flo. I really liked how you have been able to mesh together what is essentially a personal home video-style with this camera. It really felt like I was in those moments with you guys!
Thanks so much!! I actually made a video about my color grading process last year so feel free to watch it, it is very similar to how I graded this one :)
@@OfTwoLands I’m currently deep diving into the BMPCC line. I’m wondering if the 4K might be enough for me in the beginning? What do you think ? Or does the 6K gen 2 offer better versatility then the 4K? Off course I will watch some videos about it , but I was wondering about you thoughts :)
Hey man, great cinematography as usual. It would be nice to see a video on how you decide on your shot list, and camera movement, is this all pre-planned and if it is, how do you decide on that. That would be really helpful to me. Also how you expose your landscapes, false colours, histogram etc, people talk a lot about skin tones but not environment shots. Cheers
Beautifully done brother. I recently took a mountain trip vacation with my wife and daughters and now I regret not bringing my P6K Pro and doing something similar. Did you feel as though you were stressing the whole time trying to get shots or did you feel like you were still able to be present and in the moment with the family?
Thanks man!! I always have a camera, regardless of the trip or company and I think since I had a little one I want to capture memories even more. On this trip filming was very secondary. I spent days without shooting much and most of the time I was just filming a few minutes here or there. I was never stressed getting the shot or not. Only once or twice I actually made the choice to go somewhere just to shoot. I also lived there for 10 years so I knew where to go and when so I didn't need to plan :)
Thanks!! All handheld apart from the few Timelapses. Only used a mini tripod for the clouds Timelapse during the day, the others were done on fences or small walls haha.
@@OfTwoLandsgotcha, i just love how blurry the background is and the colors. did you use a lot of grading on this shot? i didn’t see anything about this shot in your grading video. also is the focus really good because the landscape is so far away? really appreciate the response!
beautifully done as always. When you do this type of thing, what is data storage like? You filming always the full 6k or do you sometimes drop it to 4k? I've never owned a Blackmagic camera and I've been looking at them since day one. Two things always held me back - battery life and data. Thoughts?
Amazing impressions! Beautifully shot and edited! Can you share which lenses did you use here? Which tripod did you use for the cloud time-lapses? I'm planning to go with my BMPCC6K Pro abroad by plane. However, my Manfrotto tripod is too bulky and too heavy for the trip. And my Manfrotto monopod is too shaky for time-lapses. I will be really grateful for your response.
Thanks so much!! I used the Canon 24-105 and 16-35. For the timelapses I used a tripod only once, the iFootage mini tabletop which is great when travelling. The rest were done on fences or walls haha!
@@OfTwoLands ThanksI really liked the sound mixing on this one. I'm also often surprised by how good those internal mics are on the BMPCCs! BTW, do you always use the cage? I sometimes find them making the camera a bit too big😂

An absolutely stunning cinematography piece. The sound mixing is also incredible!
May I also ask what was your settings for the fireworks shots, I presume it was around 1250 and denonised in post?

ISO 3200 since I was shooting at F4, with a little bit of noise reduction but not too much honestly.
