As a cyclist I’ve always been more inspired by the humanity than the results. To those who understand the passion will understand its meaning. Beautiful film, beautiful family.
Beautifully stated. Sure, there are some jerks out there, but I've been lucky to find a majority of us are great humans who strive to lift one another up rather than tear one another down. It's almost romantic how people help people in the cycling community; it's a very special thing to witness and experience.

Wonderful documentary. Truly and inspiration. I'm turning 70 this year. Since retirement I am riding more than ever (strictly road). I won't brag about my milage. Only to say I am gone most of the day when I ride. I can only hope to make it to 90 let alone still be riding. Cheers to all us old folks who are still in the saddle!!!
This is a beautiful film and a beautiful tribute to your grandfather. Even though we are miles and years apart, I know his joy. I also started cycling late in life. It has saved me from my demons. My Italian/French father is turning 90 and has been an avid cyclist as long I can remember. Your grandfather reminded me of him and so I forwarded your doc to him. He loved it so much he asked me if there would be a way for him to reach out and send a personal message to your grandfather. Wow I'm emotional throughout the whole film. Cycling saved my life and through Benjamin's eyes, it's so wonderful to know someone feels about cycling as much as I do even if I'm the more sentimental type. A lovely film and tribute to Benjamin. What an inspiration. Watching this today confirmed to me that I needed to get out on my bike. I thought if a 90 year old can, this 76 year old can.
Beautiful. Thanks for making this. Im 40, a single child to my parents. The bond between your grandfather and his brothers was so amazing to see. And hour entire family. Im sure that has made a huge difference in the health of Piovesans. A good family unit close to each other is truly a blessing. Bravo Benjamin and family.
An amazingly beautiful film. Not only for the cycling but also the togetherness of those siblings. May we all live to love our rides and family to such an age. ❤
This is a wonderful tribute to an amazing grandfather showing the joy that can be had by riding on two wheels in a complicated world no matter how old you are. Inspirational film.
WOW! Your grandfather is an inspiration. I need to get out more often and walk or bike so I can live a long healthy life like he is doing. Great doc by the way.
I started cycling when I was 30 years old. And today, at 50 years old, I think it was one of the most beautiful choices I have ever made in my life. The freedom I feel when the wind hits my face, the asphalt runs under my feet and the immense sensation of freedom are things that are difficult to describe. For me, it is one of the greatest pleasures in life that makes life worth living. When I am on my Trek bike, time seems to not exist; it is as if I have gone to another dimension.
Wow beautiful, I hope to be cycling when I get to this age! The quality of this mini doc is outstanding, the cinematography, music selection, pacing, build up, your grandfather's joy is contagious, he seems like a very joyful person to be ground. Hope to see a sequel in 10 years time! ❤
Such an inspiring story! I'm just getting into the world of cycling, and when I see stories like these, they motivate me more and more to explore the beautiful world of cycling
Lovely piece. Great cinematography. What an amazing man and family. So much to learn from this. Be a good person and surround yourself with good people and good things will happen. Thanks for making such a wonderful film. I wish him and his family many more years of happiness.
this is simply, one of the best cycling documentaries I have seen recently. The tone, the emotion, the sound, the music, the interviews, capturing your grandpa emotions in such a good way. Congratulations. I am sharing this with many friends.
Saw your film listed on the BlackMagic site, thought I'd just send to my dad, an older but no near 90 cyclist but I was engrossed from the start. Beautiful, moving, film and loved the VFX. Congratulations on the film and having such a fantastic grandpa!
Finally took time to watch this. It's very well done. Well lit for the interviews and great framing of shots, editing and color! Congratulations on capturing your Grandfather's legacy!
I'm a lifelong cyclist who's had the very great luck to bike in many countries around the world. I am grateful that biking has given me this chance and as I get older, I am very inspired by this story because it shows me that maybe I have a few years left on a bike. Thank you.
My great grand mother cycled until she was 94. Wonderful woman. Fled Hungary after her husband murdered due to being Jewish. Came to USA with six kids by herself. Her favorite motto Don’t Be Humble You Are Not That Great. Just be yourself and help all people
Flo, What an achievement! I just want to go and ride a bike now. I didnt realise to the end either this was your grandad. What an incredible family, shed a little tear at the end. One day would be cool to achieve something like this. Thanks for sharing.
@@OfTwoLands honestly just such an inspiring little film. Loved the graphic cut away elements as well of the mountain. I was sort of hoping for an interview with his son when he was talking about cycling. Though you may push the timing for what you wanted. Could probably easily make this into a feature.
What a beautiful film. Everything from pacing to the cinematography and color grading was spot on. Thanks for sharing this inspirational story of your grandfather with us! I'm sure he's proud to see the art his own family can create especially this documentary of him. Your team did a fantastic job capturing the raw emotions of his past present and future, and I'm sure your family is extremely grateful for portraits just like this one.
Watching your video I appreciated the delicacy in talking about your grandfather and your family and it describes your grandfather's same approach to life: delicacy. I appreciate that the story of the bicycle is only a means of telling your grandfather's story, but at the same time it magnifies his story. A good, positive, smiling person, you can perceive his love for life by looking at his eyes and his smile. Getting on a bicycle, whatever age you are, brings you back to being a child, free and happy. And I got on, metaphorically on a bicycle with him...free and happy. Thanks for telling us about it.
A brilliant short film … thanks, I really enjoyed this story. I still have the Italian Torpado bicycle that I received on my 16th birthday and that bike celebrated its 50th birthday last May. I retired a few years ago and took up cycling again with a new carbon endurance bike. Your grandpa is a great inspiration for me, on and off the bike … merci and bravo Benjamin! 🚴♂️🙂
❤ Much love for this video and your grandfather. I not often call something "inspiring" but this is something - what else would be inspiring if not this video, his life, his late start in cycling and those memories made with it. Thank you for sharing this. This is a great homage to your grandfather. I started cycling 3 years ago with being 40 and thought being late; but this gives me so much - the imagination of being lucky enough to do it for another 50 years? WOW! Thank you!
Thank you for making such a great recount of his life and what cycling means to him. It surely rings a bell when he says he's enjoyed cycling despite the falls. Above all, his family plays a big role in his life. I hope to see him ride when he's 100!
Thank you for sharing Ben's story. I have just started cycling again this year at the ripe young age of 38 years old. I can only dream of being as inspiring as Ben Piovesan. Amazing story telling and beautiful cinematography work.
Absolutly awesome if you know you know, i Ride a 94 Raleigh Hybrid Road Bike, ive put alot of miles on it since i bought it a few years ago, for me cycling our vast local very nice bike path its the nature & the people you see and meet along the way, its so refreshing to see this man hes a fellow scorpio 🦂 his birthdays a day before mine, ive always had the energy & endurance ill be 50 this november one can only hope we all can live to ride as long as benjamin God bless you & yours keep Riding greetings from the U.S. Ohio 💪🇺🇸🚲🚲🚲🚲🚲
I cycled all my life. I'm 64 this year and started when I was 4. Tip from my dad is never to sell your bicycle. It's just a great pity that cycling is becoming a dangerous sport with all the unconscious drivers on our roads. Praise our Lord for the health to keep doing what I treasure most. Keep the crank turning.
I came for the shots, stayed for the story. If you ever decide to discuss the how-to's behind filming this, I'd be more interested in finding out what went on in preproduction and the timing of filming each scene (ie. shooting after/before the interviews, spontaneous shooting of the family gathering, b-roll to add to the story, etc.). Even without a BTS video, this doc has been very helpful and inspiring. Thank you, Florent and the whole Piovesan family! I'm sure you made everyone proud! ✌
Thank you for the kind words!! I am currently working on BTS and cinematography breakdown videos where I will share as much as possible about the process of making this doco :)
What a wonderful gentleman, and beautiful documentary. Thank you for sharing his example of humanity, a beacon of hope amidst the sea of darkness in the news. As a 60-year-old immigrant cyclist and filmmaker, this felt so uplifting to watch. The world needs more wonderful people like Benjamin.
What a beautiful film. I watched with great emotion and feeling, and total identity with your grandfather's love of cycling. I lost my brother Tony in 2007, aged 41, killed whilst cycling, and I lost my remaining brother John in 2022, aged 57, just as we were about to cycle the Routes des Grandes Alpes. Me and my brothers were going to go on like this, enjoying cycling together till our old age. I feel very inspired that families like yours love and cherish each other and the time they spend on their bikes. Wonderful.
This is so beautiful and moving to me. You did a wonderful job Flo! Honestly, I'm surprised your channel is not much bigger; you consistently put out such great work. But it makes me happy that you're doing what you love and that brands are paying for it 😎
This is an incredible piece of work! Thank you so much to the author, for introducing us to his grandfather - such a wonderful man. Beautifully shot, wonderful people in a beautiful frame. It was very emotional. For some reason while watching, I had the impulse to ride my bike over to this grandfather, give him a hug and thank him for such a beautifully positive experience. It would be a great honour to ride with these guys.
Wonderful & truly inspirational film , a testament to exercising in later life & keeping an active body also keeps an active mind . Amazing that all 6 are still thriving & have a magical family bond. His positive & happy - go - lucky outlook is something we should all learn from, thank you so much for recording forever this wonderful man & family . What a lovely grandfather you have, wishing you many more years if cycling joy xx

Beautiful movie and a touching tribute to your grandfather. I caught the cycling bug from my father, and it never goes away. I was lucky to make some good memories with him while on the bike. All the best to your nonno, and looking forward to the 100th!
Beautiful portrait and so inspirational! Great tribute to your grandfather… I also discovered road cycling late, but I hope to be cycling until the end ❤
Forget all the pros, I’d feel like a lottery winner sharing a ride, conversation and some good food with someone like your Grandfather. To me this is the epitome of what cycling is all about.. lovely film which has inspired me to get back riding…Thank you
What a beautiful and touching documentary that was wonderfully presented. I'm 64 and would love to ride with Benjamin and his family. He's a delightful soul with kind eyes. And am I allowed to covet his old school bike? No batteries to charge or disc brakes to maintain. Simply hop on and ride, just like when we were kids. Thank you for sharing this lovely content.
I do enjoy very much, as italian , as cyclist, as man in his ...third age. Your grandpa is really inspiring, he gives a feeling of daily little joy, the true meaning of life. Wonderful documentary!
What a moving film Flo. Alex, Clement, Ams and yourself have captured something truly beautiful, the sheer strength of your grandfather is just wonderful and his passion for riding, exercise and life is admirable. I couldn't help but feel emotional from his words and his outlook on family. "That's the Piovesan family" ... perfect.

Thanks a lot for the kind words 🙏
I found the same exactly bike in my grampa basement 7y ago. He was a cyclist too. The bike is a Cinelli - Eddy Merckx. When I tried it I deeply felt in love for this sport. Thanks for documenting such a nice story. Amazing work :)
That's awesome!! Thanks so much for watching and for sharing your story too :)
His body looks so healthy for 90 years. The quality of this film is on top! Great work! 👍
Yeah he doesn’t look 90 that’s for sure haha!! Thanks so much ☺️🙏
Wow I'm emotional throughout the whole film. Cycling saved my life and through Benjamin's eyes, it's so wonderful to know someone feels about cycling as much as I do even if I'm the more sentimental type. He's my new hero, when I grew up (lol), I want to be just like him! Thank you for sharing, give grandpa Benjamin a nice big hug for me.
That's so nice of you to say, I will make sure to pass on the message! Thank you for watching and for sharing your story :)
This is beautiful. I never knew my grandfather and have only heard positive things of him. You are so fortunate to have such a beautiful grandfather, cherish him and thank you for sharing him with us. I look forward to the next film!
Thank you so much for the kind words!! I’m very lucky to have him around 🥹

A lovely film and tribute to Benjamin. What an inspiration. Watching this today confirmed to me that I needed to get out on my bike. I thought if a 90 year old can, this 76 year old can.
Thanks for watching and happy riding ☺️ !!
Wow, that's super inspiring. He doesn't look 90 at all.
Great documentary and cinematography! Very well crafted.
Thanks a lot!! And yes, haha, hard to believe he is 90!
Amazing stay positive and active until you drop dead. .❤❤
The power and joy of cycling! What an incredible family, kudos to you all!!!
Thanks so much ☺️🙏
This is absolutely incredible, and extremely inspiring to see your Grandfather defying the norm of aging by doing what he loves, excellent work!!
Thank you so much man!!
And this is the secret to longevity--finding the joy, continuously growing and challenging oneself.
Thanks so much for taking the time to share your story and watch the film :)
Proud is an understatement darling. Beautiful work and your grandpa is such a legend, I’m so glad you could make this together it is so special ❤
Thanks so much cutie, really means a lot and so glad to also have been able to include some of your stunning work in it :) ❤
An amazingly beautiful film. Not only for the cycling but also the togetherness of those siblings. May we all live to love our rides and family to such an age. ❤
Glad you enjoyed it!! Thanks for taking the time to watch 🙏
Another cyclist and film-maker here. Thanks for posting this wonderful film. Your grandfather is an inspiration. Chapeau Benjamin!
Thanks a lot!! He really is someone very special :)
This is a wonderful tribute to an amazing grandfather showing the joy that can be had by riding on two wheels in a complicated world no matter how old you are. Inspirational film.
Thanks for the positive feedback!!
WOW! Your grandfather is an inspiration. I need to get out more often and walk or bike so I can live a long healthy life like he is doing. Great doc by the way.
He really is!! Thanks for watching :)
Thanks so much for the positive feedback, it means a lot!
Such an inspiring story! I'm just getting into the world of cycling, and when I see stories like these, they motivate me more and more to explore the beautiful world of cycling
Thanks so much!!
Fantastic story!Thank you for telling it to the world.Great family.Great grandpa.

Lovely piece. Great cinematography. What an amazing man and family. So much to learn from this. Be a good person and surround yourself with good people and good things will happen. Thanks for making such a wonderful film. I wish him and his family many more years of happiness.
Thanks so much for the kind words and for taking the time to watch it ☺️🙏
I loved every bit of this. The story telling, colors, just everything!
Really glad you did, thank you!!
Such a beautiful story and wonderful film. Benjamin is a super man. Cycling is just the best however old you are. Big love from Radelaide Australia.
@@andrewschirmer3849 Thank you mate, I appreciate the kind words!! My grandpa is a very unique person 🥹
Absolutely beautiful film, I’m inspired by your grandfather and his infectious smile! I can only hope to continue cycling into my 90’s.
Thank you, he’s a very special person!! And I hope you do continue cycling into your 90’s ☺️
this is simply, one of the best cycling documentaries I have seen recently. The tone, the emotion, the sound, the music, the interviews, capturing your grandpa emotions in such a good way. Congratulations. I am sharing this with many friends.
Thanks so much for the kind and positive feedback ☺️🙏
This was a beautiful film. You did a great job capturing the story of your grandad. He is an inspiration for us all!
Thanks very much!!
Benjamin is living my dream. What an amazing human! Thank you for making this and sharing his story.
Thank you for watching 🙏
What an Inspiration and what a beautiful film. Now I've got an idea how I would like to be in 40 years time. You left a big smile on my face! Merci!
Really glad you enjoyed it, thank you!!
Saw your film listed on the BlackMagic site, thought I'd just send to my dad, an older but no near 90 cyclist but I was engrossed from the start. Beautiful, moving, film and loved the VFX. Congratulations on the film and having such a fantastic grandpa!
Thanks so much for the kind words and for taking the time to watch it!!
Finally took time to watch this. It's very well done. Well lit for the interviews and great framing of shots, editing and color! Congratulations on capturing your Grandfather's legacy!
Thanks so much mate, really glad you liked it!! I appreciate your positive feedback :)
Just be yourself and help all people
Beautiful story, thank you. I've enjoyed cycling since I was a child - every ride was an adventure. You're Grandfather feels the same way.
Thank you for watching!! I felt the same as a kid too :).
Flo, What an achievement! I just want to go and ride a bike now. I didnt realise to the end either this was your grandad. What an incredible family, shed a little tear at the end. One day would be cool to achieve something like this. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you for your comment!! Really means a lot to me :)
@@OfTwoLands honestly just such an inspiring little film. Loved the graphic cut away elements as well of the mountain. I was sort of hoping for an interview with his son when he was talking about cycling. Though you may push the timing for what you wanted. Could probably easily make this into a feature.
This is beautiful. Not only visually but emotionally as well. Heartwarming story, about an amazing man, with a wonderful family.
Thanks so much for the positive feedback! 🙏🙏
Thanks so much for the positive feedback!! He did love it and that's what matters the most :)
Thanks for taking the time to watch it and for the positive feedback, it means a lot :) !!
Thanks for the positive feedback!! And wow congrats, that's amazing :)
Glad you enjoyed the doco!
Chapeau! What a marvellous human being….
I always say I cycle for my mind and soul…
Heartwarming to know you’re not alone!😊
A true inspiration !
Thank you so much for taking the time to watch it :)
De rien , de res, niente, mon plaisir, vraiment!
Beautiful! It would be a bliss to age like him and ride like him. Cycling for life!!
Thanks!! I hope to be like him :)
WOW! Thank you!
Thanks so much for the kind words, really means a lot!! He will be happy to read your comment :)
Thank you for making such a great recount of his life and what cycling means to him. It surely rings a bell when he says he's enjoyed cycling despite the falls. Above all, his family plays a big role in his life. I hope to see him ride when he's 100!
What a lovely family portrait. Really felt your love towards your grand father and cycling.
Thanks for the kind words :)
Thank you for sharing Ben's story. I have just started cycling again this year at the ripe young age of 38 years old. I can only dream of being as inspiring as Ben Piovesan. Amazing story telling and beautiful cinematography work.
Thank you for watching, means a lot!! Happy riding :)
What an amazing tribute to your grandfather! He is truly an inspiration and a reminder of the importance of having a positive attitude! 👏💯
Thank you!! He is such a positive and amazing human :)
This is not a TH-cam video, this is pure art, greetings from Costa Rica
Thanks so much for the positive feedback ☺️🙏
Chapeau! This is inspiring on so many levels. Beautifully filmed and lovely music. A mini masterpiece. Thank you/Merci bien. ❤

☺️🙏
I cycled all my life. I'm 64 this year and started when I was 4. Tip from my dad is never to sell your bicycle. It's just a great pity that cycling is becoming a dangerous sport with all the unconscious drivers on our roads. Praise our Lord for the health to keep doing what I treasure most. Keep the crank turning.
☺️🙏
Beautiful cinematography. I hope I am still cycling at 90. Greatly enjoyed watching this film
@@andredegraaf1643 thanks so much 🙏🙏
I came for the shots, stayed for the story.
Thank you so much for the kind words, glad you enjoyed it!! :)
This Gent is the embodiment of 'you don't stop when you get old, you get old when you stop'.
What a beautiful film ❤
Thanks for the kind words ☺️🙏
Oh man, I can't wait to watch this! Looks great bro!!
Thanks so much mate, means a lot from you and would love to know what you think :) !!
I love this inspirataional biography of your Papa 💖 An amazing role model. Looking forward to the 100th birthday edition!
Thanks so much ☺️🙏
What a beautiful film.
But it makes me happy that you're doing what you love and that brands are paying for it 😎
Thanks a lot for the kind words, really appreciate it ☺️🙏
This is an incredible piece of work!
Thanks so much for the kind feedback, means a lot!!
J'ai adoré le moment où il a dit "ton père était comme cela" et qu'on comprend que c'est ton grand père. Super touchant!
Merci! C’est tellement une personne incroyable ☺️
Thanks so much for the positive feedback and for taking the time to watch it :) !!
Beautiful movie and a touching tribute to your grandfather. I caught the cycling bug from my father, and it never goes away. I was lucky to make some good memories with him while on the bike. All the best to your nonno, and looking forward to the 100th!
Thanks for sharing your story and for the kind words!! Hopefully chat to you in 10 years :)
La qualité du docu 😯 Bien joué les plans sont magnifiques et l'histoire trop belle !
Merci! Ça fait plaisir venant de toi ☺️🙏
As a 77 year young avid cyclist, I identify with your grandfather. Life on the bike eases life. Thank you for this special Christmas present.
Thank You for taking the time to watch it ☺️🙏
Beautiful portrait and so inspirational! Great tribute to your grandfather… I also discovered road cycling late, but I hope to be cycling until the end ❤
Thanks so much!! I hope you will too ☺️
Forget all the pros, I’d feel like a lottery winner sharing a ride, conversation and some good food with someone like your Grandfather. To me this is the epitome of what cycling is all about.. lovely film which has inspired me to get back riding…Thank you
He would love that too!! Thanks a lot for watching and for the kind words :)
Bicycling is how I self-medicate
What a beautiful and touching documentary that was wonderfully presented. I'm 64 and would love to ride with Benjamin and his family. He's a delightful soul with kind eyes. And am I allowed to covet his old school bike? No batteries to charge or disc brakes to maintain. Simply hop on and ride, just like when we were kids. Thank you for sharing this lovely content.
Thank you for watching, and for the kind words, it means a lot!! And yes, I love his bike too :)
I do enjoy very much, as italian , as cyclist, as man in his ...third age. Your grandpa is really inspiring, he gives a feeling of daily little joy, the true meaning of life. Wonderful documentary!
Thank you so much for watching, glad you enjoyed it!! 🙏☺️
What a moving film Flo. Alex, Clement, Ams and yourself have captured something truly beautiful, the sheer strength of your grandfather is just wonderful and his passion for riding, exercise and life is admirable. I couldn't help but feel emotional from his words and his outlook on family. "That's the Piovesan family" ... perfect.
Thanks so much for the kind feedback my man, really means a lot coming from you!! So happy I was able to share his story :)
