    I just have to say how much I appreciate you guys just being your normal selves and not over the top influencers. Been following for a while and enjoy that you two just seem like two regular guys who I’d probably be friends with if I knew you IRL. I like the positive vibe in this video even though things didn’t work out and that you understand that not everyone has a crazy budget to just go to the $500/night hotels. Makes your reviews and content more trustworthy too ❤ keep being your lovely selves. You both radiate authentic warmth and kindness.

      Thank you so much for the comment ❤️
      It really makes my day to see this because we never want to be the stereotypical “influencer” and we always try to be as responsible, honest, and as gracious as we can when we are out filming. (But I will say this Luxor stay did test our patience for a multitude of reasons and not just the Luxor thing 😂)
      But I have always been brought up to leave the world a better place than I found it and I am glad to hear that you did enjoy this video and our other content.
      And that may sound cliche, but its an honest answer and your comment really made my day seeing it and I just want to say thank you ❤️

      Awe thank you. Even the bad situations happen to the best of us in Vegas. But we hope this one had enough value to show what we could about the property as well as go over how to handle issues when they arise.
      I honestly felt a bit bad putting this one together because it’s not the most positive video and I do go a bit harsh on Diablo’s, but it does have a positive resolution (granted we were dead tired by the time we got to Horseshoe and still had to be up at 6am the next morning for Bellagio Garden Brunch). But we managed and did our best and in the coming weeks as videos come out, there will be some really fun things on the channel.
      And you all get a Horseshoe video in the future 🎉🎉🎉

    My wife and I stayed there when we got married in 2011, but we got married in November so we had no issues with the heat. We stayed there because it was kind of a dream of mine to stay there, I love how it looks and staying in a Pyramid was just neat. We visit it every year we go out and I still think it's a neat place. We did the Titanic exhibit, I died, my wife survived. :)

      Awe thank you. That is really great to hear because we have for many times debated whether we should take them out when on a trip, but whenever we do run into viewers of the channel in person, viewers will mention to us that they appreciate our authenticity and tell us that we should continue being who we are. So we end up leaving them in.

    My Gran-pere was a high roller (really a "whale") in Vegas and was well known at all the properties. He was invited to stay 4 days at the Luxor for the grand opening in '79-'80? and took my older brother and I because we were obsessed with Egyptian anything and he had heard that they had authentic objects on display, especially from Tutankhaman. It was wild, with men and women dressed as Pharaohs, warriors slaves etc. I remember that it was so crowded and the roulette tables were all gold, lapis and studded with "jewels...🙃🙂🙃🙂

    Great video as always James and Paul. Had that issue at the tower rooms, fortunately not all rooms suffer from that problem, and as it was not al booked, we where moved to a Pyramid room (suite by the way) and no problems at all. Room a bit dated and some wear showing, but it was clean, and had a great time going back and forth to Excalibur Mandalay and Luxor. Thank you very much for the video , thanks James, Thanks Paul.

    • @JamesandPaulTryitAll
      @JamesandPaulTryitAll  16 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      I think the huge wrench to it all was that they could not move us at all. And when we did ask about the Pyramid rooms they were thankfully very honest in telling us those are hotter. They went above and beyond though to try and fix it, but moving to a different property was the best solution for everyone.
      It was sadly just a perfect storm of things working against a room change. There was a bunch of young people with keyboards, laptops, and headsets which lead me to believe Luxor was hosting an ESports event (which would explain the sell out), and then over at Park MGM Dolby had a concert which affected availability everywhere else in the MGM bubble.
      Thankfully Caesars had comp nights at Horseshoe and Caesars came to the rescue 🛟
      But I still love the Luxor, I just wish that they could figure out how to manage their AC systems and get that heat reflecting glass so their systems don’t overload/overrun trying to cool the rooms.
      Thanks for watching this one - it was definitely a different hotel review video ❤️

      It was rough to put together, but we needed to get the story out about how our July trip got all in a disarray in hopes that the video can either be a learning tool for our audience on how to resolve issues when things go wrong, or a warning that this can happen at Luxor in the summer, especially when the weather is very hot.
      At the time Vegas was encountering temps that were record highs so we don’t hold it against Luxor or MGM, they did the best they could, but this did put a damper on our content for that trip.
      But… it also allowed us to make a full hotel video on Horseshoe (which we have been wanting to stay at), we got a last minute reservation for Hells Kitchen (which will be a future video), and we got some other fun stuff for the channel.
      So in the end, it’s not so bad. But I was hoping we could have completed the Luxor stay because it’s a great location and much quieter than center strip.

    Yikes. We stayed there in early Sep when it was around 105F and the AC was fine (east-facing pyramid room) but the windows do get frying-pan hot.The casino there is one of my favorites. Our only problem was with mobile check-in, but the front desk cleared that up in a few minutes. I like your “silver lining” attitude about moving to the Horseshoe.

      I’m glad you had a better experience than we did. Had we not been in a west facing room in the middle of July, I’m sure it would have been better.
      The front desk staff at Luxor was fantastic and I really appreciate them trying to do what they could to accommodate us.
      In the end, we got a room with better AC at a different property. While it threw off some plans on that trip, things still worked out.

      @JamesandPaulTryitAll  16 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      I am not saying not to stay there. We love what this property offers, but we did release this one as a word of caution.
      While it’s only anecdotal and second hand, in the elevators we were not the only people sweating and mentioning how hot their rooms are. And when going to the desk to mention the issue, there were people in front and behind us who also mentioned AC issues.
      The thing was, our AC blew out cold air. It was also on max cool, but the heat coming into the room was more than the AC could keep up with so the room would not cool (and there was even a note from the GM when we got to the room mentioning to keep the curtains closed)
      After going to the desk for the first time, we went to the center bar for a drink and the bartender there was also sweating and for whatever reason the casino itself felt like it trapped in heat.
      So it’s likely a known issue and the 117 degree heat outside didn’t help.
      I don’t know if there is much they can do to fix this without a full on renovation, and all that open space inside the pyramid must make it harder for cool air to circulate when the temps outside are in the triple digits.
      I think the long story short is. If you are traveling at times when the weather is hot, unless you are ok with the heat, maybe look to rebook elsewhere because our room at horseshoe stayed cool. And other properties can manage the heat a bit better.

      For sure! I'm not shaming Luxor. I'm just disappointed 😞.
      1 I was thinking that Luxor was going to be my favorite pool in LV. Supposedly, there's plenty of sun and free seating. Also, Sunday night is 🌈 night at the pool.
      2 The world is saturated with LV content creators. Yet, you guys are the first/only people to mention this? That makes me skeptical of the other creators. Either they have been very fortunate, or they don't want to get on MGM's poop list.
      3 Thanks for making the world a better place to travel.

      I am going to say that I cannot speak for other content creators but I have seen both positive and not so positive reviews on Luxor on a multitude of channels (we watch a lot of the creators in this space as well) - But also everyone has a different level of tolerance for temperatures so we can only speak on our first hand experience.
      Also… if you are looking for an AMAZING pool we will show off the HUGE pool complex at Mandalay Bay in next Saturday’s video. While it isn’t the Luxor Pool (which if you want to visit that pool for Temptation Sundays 🏳️‍🌈 during that season, you can always buy a ticket or reserve daybeds/cabanas and don’t even need to be staying at Luxor)
      For that reason we would suggest instead staying next door at Mandalay Bay. Plus you can do Temptation Sundays at Luxor’s pool for some LGBTQ+ pool fun but also have the complex at Mandalay open to you during the rest of your stay. It’s like having cake and eating it too.

    • @JamesandPaulTryitAll
      @JamesandPaulTryitAll  10 วันที่ผ่านมา

      As we mentioned in the video, the AC in our room was working and was blowing cold air, but it just wasn’t keeping up with the heat in the room.
      It was a shame too because the room itself was nice for what was offered in it, and I really liked it compared to our stay next door at Excalibur.
      When this was filmed Vegas was hotter than Phoenix (which is where we are from), and they were running 117 degrees outside versus 112/113 in Phoenix, so that, the room essentially being on a western facing side in glass building, the hotel being sold out (and other MGM properties being fully booked) just lead to a perfect storm of unfortunate circumstances.
      But in November it generally does cool down (with the temps at night being really cool) and generally Vegas is typically a few degrees cooler than Phoenix, so while I cannot predict the weather, I would say that chances are that you will likely be fine. And those tower rooms were nice.
