You are such a good explainer for non-tech people! Not everyone can do that. It's a gift. I have (had) a bad habit of picking up my HP laptop from the corner of the monitor. I realize now how terrible that is so never again! Last time I did this the screen went black. Just started researching but sounds like the issue may be loose lcd cable? Just saw you have a video specifically for HP black screen so going to watch and pray a tech-dummy like me can fix without spending a lot of $. And hope I can put it all back together again. 🤞
I couldn't get my lock screen to load, then I realised an hour later that my screen was being cast only to my second screen which I was currently using for my PS4. I switched the source on my TV and realised and switched the cast option to PC screen only. I'm so glad my laptop is fine, I've had this HP laptop for around 8 years now. Such avoidable stress, lol.
Yo so I used my hdmi from my ps4 too use on my laptop and my laptop died and now it won’t load the Lock Screen could you help me on how too maybe fix this

I'm so grateful to you for this step by step troubleshooting approach. I applied it to an HP Omen laptop that turns on (powers up) but won't display any logo or image, the LCD however lights up a bit (dimly) but still doesn't display image. I was almost concluding it's the motherboard since it didn't display nothing on an external monitor when I first connected it via an HDMI cable until I followed your suggestion (disconnect the laptop LDC cable from the motherboard because some systems won't send any signal to an external monitor as long as their LCD cables are still connected to the motherboard) and booom!!! here comes the crazed and blind laptop displaying to an external monitor. It turned out that it was the laptop LCD that has gone bad because it displayed correctly after testing with another LCD panel. I really appreciate this video. Thank you so so much.

IMPORTANT! Thank you for your constant help and support @PC MONKEY... I have this issue with my Acer Laptop... It suddenly goes blank. I tried checking what could be the cause but found nothing. Part of what i've done is check the display which is working fine, I've tried pressing the power button to drain the power option, and RAM change which it doesn't work. One important, yet confusing thing I noticed is that the computer works "at its will". I can remove the two RAM and put one back and it starts and also displays and works properly, but then fails to display when I shutdown or restart. I've tried this with both RAM and RAM slots and its same. Even when I fix the two RAMs, it will boot normally, but then fails to display at next booting and will require lots of exchange of RAM before it suddenly displays again even with RAMs that seems not to work before. The cycle continues like that.... PLEASE, WHAT COULD BE WRONG?
@@PC_Monkey Presently, it's no longer displaying... I will just one without display, same with external display. I've tried all the methods in your black/blank screen video and all my knowledge as a computer engineer - nothing is working
@@samueloladapo8612 If reseating the RAM over and over again helps the computer come on, and the RAM is good, why do you say the RAM slots are not the issue?
@@PC_Monkey I said that because, even when you don't reseat the RAMs, the system behaves same. That is why I said this case is confusing. You can remove the battery and fix it back and suddenly display. At another time, it might be the power adapter and at other times, just repeated switching on and off, it will display then SUDDENLY GO BLANK CURRENTLY, It doesn't display again no matter what I do, not even to the external screen
@@creativebusinessandacademi8511 That is one possibility, yes :) After running the test seen in that video link, and none of them working, the next step described there is a Factory Reset and then a Reinstall if the Reset fails. Thx!!

You may be looking at a bad / loose RAM port :(
@@PC_Monkey
Thank you for your reply... It's not the issue with ram slots... I wish I could record a voice message
@@PC_Monkey
Presently, it's no longer displaying...
@@PC_Monkey
I said that because, even when you don't reseat the RAMs, the system behaves same.
That is why I said this case is confusing. You can remove the battery and fix it back and suddenly display. At another time, it might be the power adapter and at other times, just repeated switching on and off, it will display then SUDDENLY GO BLANK
CURRENTLY, It doesn't display again no matter what I do, not even to the external screen
Thanks a lot bro
It worked for me
Was a Ram issue and fixed it in just a minute
Thumbs up
Thank you so much!!! It actually worked for me and you saved me from failing in my exams. Best of luck on your path ahead 💜

Maybe your windows is corrupted
@@creativebusinessandacademi8511 That is one possibility, yes :) After running the test seen in that video link, and none of them working, the next step described there is a Factory Reset and then a Reinstall if the Reset fails. Thx!!

How to fix it
Does the screen turn black while your using it or during startup? If during startup, does it turn black before or after the startup logo screen?

THANK YOU!!! My brother suddenly woke me up this morning and said I broke the lab top and I was confused cause I didn't break anything the lab top was working perfectly fine the last time i used it so I took the lab top watch this video I couldn't really do all the steps in this all I could do was the HDMI trick I couldn't really unscrew my computer when I put the HDMI in it still didn't work so I couldn't do much so I went to my room with labtop I just kept putting the charger in and putting it out then I had no hope so I put the lab top on the side of my leg without thinking then BAM!!! The black screen lighten up a bit and when it did that it said boot up with a loading screen then it went back into the locking screen it worked again! I really love this video even if the HDMI trick didn't work I still love this this video cause I'm a 100% sure that all the stuff that was said and did in this video works sorry for a long story 😅 just wanted to say that this 100% without a doubt works!!!

see the problem with mine is when i hold down the power button (turning off the laptop) and holding the button again (turning it on) the whole hp logo appears and the little loading circle appears but then it goes to a black screen for a long time this usually happens but this time it’s been like this for more than usual
For that issue on an HP computer, refer to this video first; th-cam.com/video/_qF-oqPrn7M/w-d-xo.html

@@PC_Monkey I haven't actually done anything with the laptop yet. But I feel more confident. I had replaced the RAM and I replaced the screen and I work with computers. (I'm relatively new). I had an HP laptop come in . Screen works I used It on another laptop and the RAM also works. But I'll try that CMOS battery. And I'll try looking into the LCD cable.
