  • Views from the satellites GOES-West and Himawari-8 of the violent eruption of the underwater volcano Hunga Tonga-Hunga Haʻapai.
The first view is from GOES-West and the second is from Himawari-8, each played twice at 100% and 200% zoom respectively. Images have been rotated to place the eruption at the top-center of the frame and colors in the Himawari-8 images have been brightened slightly.
The images were captured at 10 minute intervals. The GOES-West animation contains 8 images ( 1h 20m real-time) of the volcano erupting, and Himawari-8 animation contains 15 images (2h 30m real-time).

It was pretty impressive watching the pressure wave cross the United States working it's way from the southwest to the northwest. I wonder if this has ejected enough material into the atmosphere to cause a global temperature decrease for a year?

@@pixiedustdreams Large eruption columns inject ash particles and sulfur-rich gases into the troposphere and stratosphere and these clouds can circle the globe within weeks of the volcanic activity. The small ash particles decrease the amount of sunlight reaching the surface of the earth and lower average global temperatures. The last time this happened was with My Pinatubo in 1991. It lowered the global temperature by 1°F through to 1993. It affected crops among other things.

Only just saw this video - amazing! But being an underwater volcano, it put huge quantities of water vapour into the atmosphere. Water vapour is a very powerful greenhouse gas :(

interesting situation. Other eruptions but smaller in volume has dramatically influenced weather globally. Will this eruption cause a summer cool down and damage potentially harvest crops of 2022?
Time will tell, but this one eruption in magnitude is the largest known eruption since 1883 Krakatoa.

Obviously not. It's 23 did you notice anything different. Don't fall for the lies. We live under a Firmament that GOD created and cannot be passed. The controllers hate that. The controllers want to get past the Firmament and they haven't and never will. Read the Holy Bible. Page one paragraph one
