  • The ongoing eruption of the Icelandic Volcano Fagradalsfjall in the Geldingadalir valley was one of the most magnificent sights I have ever witnessed in my life. It is hard to put in words but this once in a lifetime drone footage may give you an idea what it feels like to be there.
In my next video I will be taking you on the ground and talk about what it's like to fly drones around a volcano and what you must look out for so you don't crash.
Talking about crashing - have you seen the epic crash into the volcano:
    • EPIC DRONE CRASH into ...
Shot on DJI MAVIC 2 PRO and DJI FPV.

Wonderful views but we'd love to see some slower paced video in addition to the quick short clips. We've followed the eruption since the beginning and drones provide the best overall view of the spreading lava. Looking forward, too, to learning more about the challenges of flying close to the crater. A suggestion: attach a small high/low thermometer to the drone to record the highest temp. They weigh very little.

You get so close to the lava stream sometimes, I can almost feel the heat. Gorgeous doesn't even begin to encompass the cinematography.

My most sincere congratulations to Joey Helms because he was dedicated enough to sacrifice a dron to get the best images ever captured in HD video for all of us to enjoy. My best moment on this video was your image (2:09) showing the high risk of being right next to the lava river controlling the dron. Congrats Joey, fantastic job
