    I'm so loving this unit Black Lion crew! Saw this vid when it dropped and said ... "I need one of those". It's so sweet, may grab another for a second system config.

    Why only the 1/4 inch jacks?

      We figured most folks would use an expander like this with a patchbay, where 1/4" TRS is more commonplace than XLR. Also, we wouldn't be able to fit 16 XLR jacks onto the back of a 1U rack unit.

    What am I missing with this? Its half the channels of a Ferrofish Pulse 16 at a similar price.

      The Revolution EXP is $400 less than the Pulse16! :)

    How the process works with regards to the AD/DA? Would the upgraded quality of the Expander's AD/DA only be heard through its I/O?

    What Brand Adat and Thunderbolt cables are you using? The look very hi quality. Thanks

      Amazon basics ADAT cable to connect the EXP to the Apollo and an Apple TB4 cable to connect the Apollo to the Macbook.

    Can you use two exp’s to double the in’s and outs?

    • @blacklionaudio5271
      @blacklionaudio5271  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes, but you'll need an interface that can also handle 16 channels of ADAT inputs and outputs - keep in mind that the chosen sample rate you choose will affect your possible channel count.
      More on that here: www.blacklionaudio.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/Black-Lion-Audio-Revolution-EXP-Manual-10-04-23.pdf

    So do you press the termination switch in or leave it out.

      Yes, press in the termination switch if the Apollo is the last interface in your clocking chain.

      If it can install digilink card for hdx, you will be invincible!! hahaha many film and television productions actually only need external clocks and AES input/outputs to link their Genelec speakers.Because even if digital or analog input enters the Genelec speaker, it will be converted again through its internal DSP, so the first choice for the speaker is the AES input. There is no need to perform an analog conversion in the sound card. The sound card only needs to have spdif coaxial or aes input, and the rest is aes output. The simplest version of Atmos, 7.1.4, only requires 12 digital channels. And there are still a large number of hdx users in professional production, so digilink cannot be given up in the short term unless there is a better FPGA chip that can replace the 64-bit internal matrix mixer. After all, today’s film and television production often involves large-scale mixing of 5 or 600 tracks.@@blacklionaudio5271
