Once I got going, I couldn't stop at 10. The ending to My One-Hit Kill Sister (Mukyu Platonic) is unusual in that it is done by VALIS, a virtual circus group consisting of 6 virtual artists. The two Omake endings are my favorites for their respective years, and I like them better then the openings for those shows, which is unusual for me.
Definitely agree for the Frieren's ending not being number 1 just because it's a less popular animé

12 is still too low. I think "Without Love" from Vinland Saga is my absolute favorite because of how it interacts with the story of the anime. I can't detach my feelings for the anime from that one, because it literally has interplay with the themes, and that makes it 1000% un-skippable. you can literally link that message to a different thing every time the story arc shifts. I just think that song is so well utilized... it's uniquely suited to it's place here. like, sometimes an anime will just have a cool song at the beginning or end of an episode, or the song will only have relevance to one character, or allude, in a very literal way, to just one aspect of the story... but Without Love can be applied like an analytical lens to so many different characters in so many different ways... I will keep dwelling on that for a long time. I can't leave it alone.

also it is I N S A N E that that particular Witch from Mercury ED came in at 31, that should've been so much higher on the list.
oh, and shoutout to Golden Kamuy's fourth ending. that shit didn't come out this year, but half the season aired this year, so it gets my little youtube comment honorable mention at the very least.

4:00 Yes, it's a BBC (Big Black Cat) taking care of his human, who is a slob salarywoman (And she was voiced by Yui Ishikawa, Mikasa Ackerman's VA). That's basically the story of the anime "The Masterful Cat is Depressed Again Today", which is one of the most underrated slice-of-life anime of Summer 2023.

Jujutsu Kaisen "Akari" Completely deserves the spot Imo. "That Scene" made it famous, its kinda true but still its a great song representing Geto's thought process and has great lyrics and composition.

I had to write, everytime I hear these Opening Ending best 50s, I get so disappointed. It's like everyone only watched specific programs that many did and only got 600 to 700 followers who vote on their selections. There is many underrated shows that came out that are better than half of these easily.

dark seeks light goes hard
So Bleach is an odd one. It had one of the most hype season endings in anime history, then had another cannon, but underwhelming season that left off on a cliffhanger before ending. Finally, last year or so, Bleach: The Thousand-Year Blood War, which is the events that continues from where that cliffhanger left off with some of the GREATEST ANIMATION OF ALL TIME!

The full version of the second ending Orion which is done by Kenshi Yonezu has 179 million views so its definitely one of those cases where the endings are more famous than the openings.

Just like with the openings, I can’t believe how many great ending songs weren’t included while some really mid ones were. More than any though I can’t believe Ningen Fushin wasn’t included, that ending is one of my all time favorites
There were those from mid 10-20 that deserved better placings, just guessing that the animes where they came from are not that influential as the others above them :(

In any anime-based popularity contest, anything to do with the current most popular battle shonen is going to be hard to beat. Right now that's JJK. Probably because there's a decent portion of the anime audience that exclusively watch hits out of Shōnen Jump. The audience for more niche shows is always going to be more fragmented, making it harder for them to reach the top in any poll.

There's so many anime great endings this year. It's such a shame that endings aren't shown as much love as OPs.
I've been saying you need to check out the demon slayer closing especially if you like the opening! I think it should be a little bit higher on the list but at least it was on the list this time.
6:40 This ed is my second fav from 2023 with say my name being my top, and you should definitely check both of this endings out. They both are bangers. Man it does suck that it's not within the top 10. I also have told u to check out the ending of demon slayer, but u still haven't sadly. It's also really sad, cause I can just tell that demon slayer is just gonna win the vote because of shonen fans.
Luke, please, if you watched the original long part of Bleach series, You 100% need to watch the TYBW arc that 2 parts(26 episodes) out of 4(52 episodes total) is already came and the 3rd part will be in march-april and 4th in the end of 2024
This part of anime is really much darker than the older one, and brutality is on another level
Bleach never fully adapted the manga so it recently returned with an adaptation of the manga's final arc The 1000 year blood war, though there could be more after that if they decide to adapt some of the stuff in the following novels lol
Kinda sad that Ancient Magus Bride' eds didnt make the list
Solo Leveling should be coming out on January 6th so I think the op and ed should drop on the same day, or during 1st or 2nd week after the first episode, that is usually how it works with anime songs.

I am here to say that you should really, really, really, really, really react to The 100 Girlfriends Who Really, Really, Really, Really, Really Love You opening and endings (there is two but one is a special ending for one of the episodes so it’d spoil something) 😆
Also the opening is sung by the voice actors of the main female characters. The full version has seven different versions. The one with all of them singing, five individual ones where it’s only one of the girls singing it, and then the last one is the voice actor of the main character singing it ^^

It's pretty clear that people vote for anime too, especially since it's fan voted. Even a mediocre ending of a popular show would place higher than an unpopular, but I agree with the first place. Other than that everything else is questionable. I would definitely put Vinland Saga way higher.

I really want you to start my hero academia next because even though it has its ups and downs it's an amazing anime. It can seem intimidating the amount of episodes but I've been thinking you could do two episodes by reaction. One of the reasons you went through re:zero season 1 so quickly was becouse you watched director's cut, basically two episode in one.
Demons slayer is my second choice.
Any of those two are so big that you need to watch em to enrich your anime knowledge ❤

While the openings have some competition for what’s the best when it comes to ending i feel like it’s a repeat of the first JJK ending that ONK ending is so easily #1 there isn’t really a competition at all.
As for my fav Op I also think it’s ONK but that’s just my opinion and there are like 5 ops that are like 11/10 lvl this year so I’m fine with others disagreeing on that it doesn’t change the Fact the ONK OP made history so that’s the biggest win of the year anyway lol.
Akari is my favorite ed of this year tied with memphisto
Oshi no Ko and Frieren endings are the best of the year by far for me. And my number 3 would be Aina the end - Gundam witch.

I guess when you do a fan voted poll, then its not the "best ending" but more like "the most popular". But then again, if the majority liked it even if the other ones are better musically or in any other way, it can still be called the best. Unless you bring a certified anime opening/ending enjoyer to do the voting then its gonna be biased to the popular side. But alas, the word "Best" is subjective ;)

Highly unpopular opinion but i think ED1(Statice) from Helck is the best of this year... by a lot. Composition-wise, story-wise, the choice of instruments and vocal techniques, it's the actual best "ending" for the anime, you can even say that it is just an incarnation of the entire plot as a song, not the kind that catch your ears the second you hear it, but the more you listen to it, the more you learn about it the better it gets. I get that in most of these OP/ED rankings people are judging the ending mostly by music, just kinda sad that it didn't even make it into top 50.
Really disappointed that The Kingdom of Ruin anime was not even in top 50 of community’s choice. Visually it might not be as good as other endings, but musically and especially vocally is in the top 10 at least. Sadly not surprised it wasn’t even mentioned there due to really low popularity of the anime itself, but it definitely shouldn’t be skipped nor ignored.
It became one of my favourite songs to listen to (the group that did 2nd opening to S1 jujutsu kaisen).
Lot of bangers blatantly missing from this list
One hit kill sister had an amazing ED compared to the show, Hikkomari Kyuuketsu ED is vibes af, Spy Room had some epic wacky EDs, Tearmoons is really beautiful, WataOshi's ED by the VAs is super fun, Girlfriend Girlfriend is a fun one as well, etc.

After Re:Zero I'd probably recommend Overlord. It also takes you one step closer to unlocking Isekai Quarter, which is absolutely worth it :D

isekai quartet is indeed hilarious despite its purely fan service its has some really good moments
