For the Spider ED, it's actually Aoi Yuki singing in character voice (the spider). She's an incredibly talented voice actress and singer.
With that being said, I would like his reaction to Youjo Senki ED.

Additionally, if you look at the lyrics to the first ending and the second ending, in the first one she's terrified and stressed out and panicking and complaining the entire time. In this one she's talking shit to the monsters she's facing, because this is the point in the series where she's started to get overpowered. Plus, since she's a voice actor and not a metal singer, you *know* those were some legit SCREAMS from her.

Oh. The hip-hop in Samurai champloo is actually in the show's whole OST and opening. The ending is the one with least hip-hop influence.

I still feel like the way she delivered her lines were more in theme with hip hop, however. I imagine since the lines were in japanese, it was harder to pick up.
@@smileybones9172 yeah, the tune is very much in the lauryn hill, fugees style of hip hop jam, very chilled out and soul-forward. has a semi-improvised, singsongy delivery of the verses with a strong, shout section of harmonized voices on the chorus. it's not THE most hip hop track on the soundtrack, but it fits right in with all the jazzy lo-fi that the producers tended towards throughout.
Yes, I totally think that if he would like to see some of the more hip hop side of the series he should watch the anime, it is just a masterpiece and there is a lot of the hiphop culture inside the world setting and if you like the genre it is quite a treat to see and listen, there is even a whole episode about graffiti.
To be fair, Nujabes didn’t perform pure Hip Hop, he performed Lo-Fi even before it was called Lo-Fi.
Nujabes is credited as the original Lo-Fi artist and the father of the genre, it’s his own style of Hip-Hop and that’s what makes it special
Myth&Roid is hands down my favorite Japanese band, they have bangers across so many different shows.

Shiki no Uta itself isn't really hip hop related. The hip hop inspirations show itself in the show's soundtrack and fights alongside the side characters of each episode.
Shiki no uta (Samurai Champloo ED) is an incredibly soothing song. No doubt a great piece of music.

Since you liked the "So I'm a Spider, so what?" Ending, you should check the first one out too. The vocals in that are INSANE. It's called "Do your best Kumoko-chan" or "Ganbare Kumoko-chan"
I love how you picked up on the "backwards" part on Summertime Rendering ED because this anime is about time-travelling and reversing back in time. The music was truly made for this anime

I had chills when the Samurai Champloo song started playing. One of the best ending songs to an anime, ever.
The spider ending was actually performed by the main characters' voice actress. And it's not the first time she sang in an ending like that, her performance in "Los! Los! Los!" Is also incredible.
Unfortunately, she broke her back while carrying the spider anime.

@@pokecasual6027 As a LN novel reader, they did lowball a lot of content for the human side which made it more interesting to read through. Even there though, Kumoko is the main appeal because of how fun of a MC she is.

The Pillows always gave me a cool garage band feel, that sort of dirty, buzzy sound makes me feel like I'm in a makeshift 'studio' being pleasantly overwhelmed by the volume of everything and getting infected by the band's enthusiasm.
I adore summertime rendering & Dororo endings .... they're not too loud or not give adrenaline rush but are just soothing & beautiful to the ears. Looking forward to it... hope you enjoy it as much as I did

Dororo ending song 2 is very calm, but apart from that it's lyrics make much more sense after watching the whole anime, "Now that we've carried this weight on our shoulders, let's take back what's ours"(not exactly, but that's how I remember), honestly I cried when I listened to this ED after finishing dororo

About the spider one,without spoiling too much,she stays alone in the dungeon for so long so you can imagine what that would do to the human mind. The Ed perfectly reflects that with her head being absolute chaos in rock form with a bunch of parallel voices speaking to her and she’s speaking to them during the song. I don’t think there is a better way to represent her in one Ed other than this one.

That was actually the second "So I'm a Spider so what?" Ending. Highly recommend the first one. It's even more insane than this one, somehow.
Yus Shiki no Uta one of my favorite ending of all time. Such a great and chill ending for one of the dopes anime of all time. Who knew hip hop, Lofi, and rnb sound track would fit a story about samurai. God I miss the early 2000s. Take me back!!! You definitely need to skim the ost it some great beat and tracks that are just super chill and fit the mood of every scene in the show.
_FLCL_ and _Samurai Champloo_ both have phonemical endings. While _Champloo_ has an overall hip-hop soundtrack, the ending theme is definitely more R&B. I STRONGLY recommend checking out other songs from the soundtrack! Nujabes, one of the composers, is widely considered one of the godfathers of lo-fi hip-hop.

Shiki no Uta is a beautiful song but it sounds like your experience was colored by the expectation of having read that blurb. Plenty of tracks in Champloo are hip hop but this is not one of them. I hear it and I'm instantly transported back to 2006, falling asleep (or waking up) to it playing as the episode ended at 2 AM lol. A surreal feeling in memory. Now if you want some actual Champloo hip hop you'll want to check out a track like San Francisco, the final ED of the show.
For the spider show, this is the second ending. The first one is her complaining about being reborn as a lowly spider and having to deal with all these big monsters, but by season 2 she has become the most terrifying creature in the dungeon and the lyrics to the second ending is all about her taunting people because she's stronger than them.
The first one is so good too.
There is no season 2 (yet). It's just the second ending since there are 24 episodes.
There's also a stark difference between the first and second ED, the first one being very pumpy, overcharged speedcore, while the second ED is your average japanese speed metal. I'd love to hear his reaction to the first ED, as speedcore is my favourite genre and I'd like to hear what he has to say about it.
Yeah. Although animation is lacking due to the studio which got rights to it, the music was top tier. I love it. Ending 1 is fire as well.

The weird rhythmic lyric delivery in the spider one is actually because shes kinda speaking like full on conversational lines question/answer by herself as a character from the show. And ofc doing that while staying in time with a bpm as fast as this would end up like that XD. Hard to listen to the layers in this one but there are so many and its crazy. Great analysis as always Tony!
Samurai Champloo has one of, If not the best soundtracks In all of Anime. Should really react to It at some point. Rip Nujabes.

For the summer time render track you hit the nail on the head for alot of the vibes the song was trying to give off. You said it sounds creepy and it matches the show because its creepy lol. You also said at some points it sounds country and the show takes place on the country side of japan on a small island. You really nailed what the vibe was lmao im surprised.
Overlord and Spider easily have some of the best openings and endings in anime. Few come close.

@@MrTimeattackerI disagree but overlord does have some good ops and eds, personally I prefer myth and roid’s tracks from re:zero and not a big fan of OxT… Id much rather listen to Fear, and Loathing in Las Vegas over them.
But Voracity and Hydra are prob my heavy favs from Overlord.

I definitely agree. Spider and Overlord have such great EDs I couldn't get myself to skip. MAINLY Spider, I always listened to the whole thing. The same for JoJo's OPs tho, they are heavenly as well.

Aoi Yuuki goes absolutely manic in both the ED songs for the spider anime. The one in this video was the second ED, but I highly recommend listening to the first one as well

overlord outro is something else, really captures the feel of the show, madhouse is on another level when it comes to anime. That studio delivers on all points, it's the best studio out there in my opinion.

aint no way he said shiki no uta not his favorite..... jk im biased cause its my favorite, checking out the samurai champloo soundtrack would be fun and i think once you hear it all you would feel this song fits right in, the hip hop thing definitely threw you off but the opening and other background music as well as themes in the anime contribute more to that hip hop label. "Who's Theme" also by minmi is another amazing song and is also used in the show!

FLCL is a great coming of age anime. It's an OVA (Original Video Animation) six episodes long. Well worth a watch. Great music in it throughout anchored by The Pillows.
FLCL or FoolyCooly (the first closing track you listened to) is a fucking RIDE of a show, short but powerful. Six episodes of chaos packed so dense with plot and metaphor it'll leave you reeling.
But you don't need to understand what's happening to enjoy the ride, and FLCL has a way of sucking you in anyways. My favorite anime of all time, straight up rewired my brain chemistry when I was 11 watching it.
The first Spider's ending is even crazier in several ways. It's weird, but... amazingly so.

Myth & Roid is easily one of my favorite anime musicians. They have so many great/fun songs. Shadowgraph, Tragedy: Eternity, L.L.L, Styx Helix, Frozen Rain, etc.
Also I think you should check out Viva Namida by Yasuyuki Okamura! It's the opening for Space Dandy, also created by the dame guy who made Cowboy Bebop and Samurai Champloo. The show followed a rule of only using instruments that existing in the 80's (tho I can't remember if the opening also followed that). It's a pretty fun and funky opening th.
Finally an Overlord ending, they're all rather nice. I'd be also interested in the 4th intro of the anime.

On the Spider ED, the fact that the singer is also the VA for the spider and she sings IN CHARACTER makes it 10x cooler!

Maybe in Summer Time Rendering the underwater thing is meant to show the despair the main character goes through, but then dies goes back in time and quickly some hope is there again. Would recommend watching it, it's 10/10 very underrated anime.
Or the literal underwater scene that caused him being there in the first place. One of The Animes of the Year 2022, for sure.

There's an english cover of "Shiki no Uta"(the Samurai Champloo ED) on TH-cam by a creator called Sapphire. It's surprisingly accurate with the lyrics and rythmn of the original and I think you'd enjoy it.

I really love the Spider EDs. People have already mentioned it, but they're sung by the VA of the MC, Aoi Yuuki, who is so talented it's crazy. The first ED is all about how unfair it is that she's a spider and how it's BS that everything she faces is so OP and how she's always on the brink of death, while the second OP is her basically shit talking all those same monsters now that she's OP 😂
Man, I remember back in 2005-2010 when i was bumping Nujabes HARD. Early morning trip to school/work or certain activities had a Nujabes soundtrack to them. Imagine the shock and disbelief when I read that he died in a car crash. Metaphorical Music remains one of my favourite albums of all time. RIP legend.
I can't speak on the other animes here as I havent watched them, but the two I have watched in Samurai Champloo and FLCL, both have fantastic OST's. Nujabes (R.I.P) and the Pillows are legends.

I have an unbelievable bias towards Overlord but the rankings fair, musically they're all their own art works. I love finding awesome music in anime. 5 years ago I'd have never thought that my music taste would evolve so much. Love the breakdowns!

Oh wow I heard Spider ED was a banger from a few anime review people but I didn't know it was this much of a banger. Aoi Yuuki also sang Los Los Los, I should have picked that up but I was just too uninterested to anything isekai when it aired. Aoi Yuuki isn't gonna be making a Poppy debut so def checking this song's credits because we don't have enough kawaii metal so I have to pick up some scraps.

Saw the anime (Dororo) exactly a year ago and it made my top 10 list the day I finished it ... And also the opening and ending went into my playlist ...
You should totally check out the other dororo Ed "sayonaragokko" too. It's just as good as the Eve one. Instruments, chords, everything is good stuff. And the vocals are just coarse and add soo much depth to the song
