Thanks for this. Today I am replacing the ancient black and gray water valves on our old extra guest trailer. (If I can get the old bolts off! ☺) This gives me a good idea as I did not know what to do with the seals. Thanks! CASI
hi my handle is broke off but the unit itself is up under the trailer somwhere and is covered with black plastic panel stuff so i will have to make a cut and cover it back up but not sure where to make the cut how far can it be, from the angle the hole is on from where the handle was, looks like it might go over to the shower tank ..
A little bit of water in the pipe is to be expected, but it shouldn't be a lot. That would suggest a leak. The valve is really the only place water can leak into the drain pipe...The gaskets can be very tricky to seat properly. I have had to reconnect the valve up to a few times before getting a proper seal when replacing the valves.
Excellent straight forward video. No useless intro. No dumb background music.
Good editing. Nice details.
Thanks a million!!!
And that is the nicest, most coherent TH-cam comment ever, thank you so much!
You're welcome! It's a fairly easy repair as you can see. We did it in a campground and nobody even noticed what we were doing! Good luck.
Nice video shows all I need to do for my valve replacement. Nice tip on the garden hose adapter for catching accumulated water.
Nice explanation. I really like the tip about the garden hose outlet, gotta get one of those.

It's hard for us to do this kind or repair. What's the average cost, these days, for someone to do it for us?
Thank you for this video. Mine is broke, now I have a better idea what I need to do to fix it.
Aah...you make it look sooo easy. :) We'll see, I'm headed out to do both valves right now.

So how do I get an ELECTRIC black water tank valve to close that's stuck open?
Is there a ball valve replacement for this?
Replaced sewage valves 2 of them.... still leaks at cap. Any suggestions?

This sometimes dirty but easy DIY job will save you hundreds of your hard earned dollars instead of taking it to an RV repair shop.
