Very informative. Thank you. The use of wedges answers my question about making the flagpole perpendicular.
I'll be installing mine now. A Union Flag in my case as I'm in the United Kingdom.

Hi! Where did you get this pole from? Great video. I would suggest to mix the concrete with water first before pouring it into hole though.

I got it from Kempton Flags www.kemptonflag.com

Thank you for the video! Did you order the fiberglass pole custom or can I find that at any box box store?

You're welcome! No, I got the pole locally from Kempton Flags: www.kemptonflag.com

I don't know what part of the USA you are in, but I'm just checking in today, 24 AUG 2024, to see how your flagpole survived through it's first year. Hand Salute.....
(Can you believe it, yt has no American Flag emoji, but look what they offer instead)

Hi, I live in eastern New Jersey about a mile from the coast. So far is has held up very well, the pole does not show any signs of wear and is still vertical. No emoji came through in your comment, but I'm not surprised, they have a pride flag but no American flag. Patriotism is under a slow but steady attack from big tech!

@@americanmakers8111 yes, yt has pride for sin with no respect or love for the country that they are trying to destroy and control. Thanks 🙏 for your response. I’m in hurricane country in Coastal Georgia and I was wondering how your flagpole is holding up. Thanks and Blessings! Stay safe and alert, KING JESUS is Coming Soon!

Couple things: it seems you didn’t use much concrete at all. I have a 30’ fiberglass flagpole and used 15 80 lb bags. Please update after a year on how this base has held up. Second, you want to remove the shims and use sand where they were. They’ll rot eventually. Lastly, I thought Atlantic Fiberglass flagpoles went out of business? I haven’t seen this style with the onion top in a while.

Been about 9 months and all is good, shims aren’t in great shape so I removed and filled with sand. Seems to be holding up well, but I see your point, erroring on the side of more concrete is good

Atlantic Fiberglass flagpoles went out of business, yes. They merged with another company to create Flagmore US, which still sells the flagpoles Atlantic used to sell today. The original Flagmore company is based in Sverige (Sweden.)

@@ariauroic not so much went out of business, they acquired fiberglass flagpoles of America and changed the name. The poles they sell are slightly modified and not 100% exactly as the Atlantics or FFOA were.
Both Atlantic and FFOA were great flagpoles and I’m sure the Flagmore US stuff is also good.

Are you in the easement of the city?

It’s just on the line of the township right of way when I measured, but if it’s ever needed, it could come out and be moved.

Wouldn't it make more sense to premix the concrete and then pour it? That method you have no idea if it's too wet or too dry. Either way it weakens the concrete. I never agree with this way of doing it. I use to test concrete strengths and witnessed how too wet or too dry concrete is effected.

    • @danielbrateris8060
      @danielbrateris8060 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

Thanks foe the comment. There is no issue with premixing, but this is quick set concrete and the way I am applying it is per the manufactures instructions for this concrete. It's just another way to do it for this specific kind of concrete.... I believe I say this in the video. The reason I like this way for people who do not have a use for excess concrete, is you make exactly as much as you need and do not end up with extra, but either way is fine if the concrete supports this method.

It's not level. Level is horizontal. It's plumb vertical is plumb . Everyone keeps says level the pole. You really should not level a pole lol. Just me pet peeve I guess.
