Just a helpful tip. Run the halyard over the pulley before installing the cap on the pole and it is much easier. And remember, feed from inside the cap over the pulley.
Great job Andrew. My family tradition is to raise a flagpole on ANY new home that doesn't already have one. Been flying a flag literally all my life. This veteran and his family thank you my friend!
Thank you to all the services members that sacrifice thier life for my freedom and fir this great country !!!!!! My father was in the military he fought in Vietnam GOD BLESS YOU for this video
Thanks Andrew, I wonder how many viewers saluted old glory as it was raised it brought me back to my service days, I recommend one video at sunset bringing our colors down for the night 👍
The link is in the video description for Amazon and their direct website. The website has a full package right now with solar light and flash collar. You'll have to buy the weight tether separately on Amazon or their site, I recommend it. Service first flagpoles
That is truly amazing Andrew. You are right, there are so many people that would like to be standing with you. Those also were some very kind words. I say all this because I have a Son in the Army that has done 3 tours. It’s truly hard to know he is fighting for my freedom and I sit in a Country that is Free. Thanks Andrew.
Absolutely love the flag pole/light Andrew. That pole may be aluminum, but I still would have fallen over while putting it up. lol Thank you to all of our service men and women!
Nice job on the flagpole! I have the same 30ft. Sectional Freedom Edition flagpole as you do, but I added some minor adjustments to mine. For one, Service First doesn't offer a revolving truck pulley, so I bought one off of Gettysburg Flag Works. It's 150$, but having the truck rotate reduces the wear and tear on a flag. I also added a yardarm to my pole that Service First does offer. I can't get it any lower past the top section when installing it though, so keep in mind if you want to fly flags bigger than 4x6, because a 5x8 tends to wrap around the yardarm. Hopefully you enjoy your new pole as much as I do!
Looks good. I agree that the swivel will be an issue eventually it will just wrap around the pole. But it looks pretty cool and I like the idea of the solar light.
You’re most welcome brother! You and Tiffany are living the American dream and are truly grounded people Thank you for taking advantage of and having such an appreciation for the great freedoms of this country! Merry Christmas!
Thanks for the review of this flag pole. Had been looking to get one from them and did after the video. Just got it installed this week. Awesome product
like the video. did a nice job on the flag pole. now your wife may want flowers around the flag pole. be bless and love have a merry christmas and a happy new year..
The ball at the top of the flagpole is called a truck. On military installations each truck comes with items inside: In the Air Force we had a penny, a grain of wheat and a bullet. Some Marine traditions call for a match and a razor blade along with those other items. If you ever want to read some interesting flag traditions you might research why each of those items is included. The flag pole looks wonderful. God bless America!
Perfection, yet again... 👍 The collars that swivel around the pole as the wind changes direction don't work that well in conjunction with a raising and lowering rope. If you use the collar, you can use either the weight on the bottom flag (if you put up a second flag under Old Glory) or a second collar to attach the bottom rivet hole. A rope isn't used typically. It wraps around the pole. I've used the rotating collars before and wouldn't go that route again. The "old school" rope and brass swivel snap hooks is what I'd recommend. 🇺🇸☝
Just ordered the same setup! They offer military discount as well! Nice set up! Was going to put mine closer to the house, but it might be a bit of a lightening rod!
I had a backhoe dig my hole because of the rocky soil here where I live. I love the concrete mixer. Looks a lot like my HF concrete mixer minus the colors.
Great video, thank you👍🏼👍🏼 I bought the 25' version and will work on it in a few days. The website for the company has a video, but it is probably about 1 minute😵😵 Kind of had more questions than before I watched it. You hit my list of questions pretty much down the line, greatly appreciate your effort.
That "gold ball" as you called it is actually called a Truk. Military tradition says that there are three items that are supposed to be stored inside it. 1. A razor blade, to cut stars off to be used on another flag. 2. A match, to burn the flag to properly dispose of the flag and 3. A bullet for "your last stand" . Great looking flag and pole!
The truck is the top cap that secures to the pole and holds the pulley, the decorative mount on top whether eagle, ball etc itself is the finial. The finial screws into the truck.
You are going to have to update your KCL tree logo now to include the flag pole and flag. The flag addition will be a good one. I approve of the location of the flag pole close to "the" tree.
I put an 18' telescopic flagpole on my homestead a few weeks ago. I have the same solar light and it works very well - I think you'll be pleased with it. I like flying 2 flags on mine - Old Glory on top (of course) and the Gadsden (Don't Tread On Me) underneath. I may switch back and forth between the Gadsden and a POW-MIA flag... Take care and God Bless - and I wish you and yours a very Merry Christmas and a happy and healthy New Year!
It’s great to see you made a larger foundation. My only comment would be: these service first type over seas thin walled residential poles cannot take much wind to begin with and the pole will bend or snap before pulling over an 18” base. It’s great to see people wanting a flagpole, it’s just sad to see people still falling for these “veteran owned” flagpole companies that just sell over seas made junk to make a profit. Traditionally a 30’ flagpole would be flown with a 5x8 flag. Unfortunately, these poles can’t support such a size with winds beyond 20 mph. I’m happy to see you instal a flagpole but I feel like the world is fooled by these vet own companies.
Never over hand tight the pole ! If your telescopic Flag pole gets stuck? Pour water down into the joint to loosen up, of the dirt and sand in the joint 👉👉 WORKS EVERY TIME! with a band jar opener to. Then hand tight only ! 👍👍
8:28 while having the thickest wall is a positive. The real strength comes from the diameter of the tube. Which is why the larger diameters are always at the bottom.
That’s amazing Andrew. I am glad all the donations finally came together for you to have that don’t forget if it gets tattered or it hits the ground you need to retire the flag. There are some places like the Elks the VFW in multiple organizations, you can take a flag to and they will retire it lol and if you’d like, I can give you the website to where you can get a US made flag in the United States
Yep, I've been considering flying two. I just bought a bigger American flag. I'll probably go back and forth between two smaller ones and a single big one until I find what I like.
Looks like a good product. Did they supply any grease or anti size to keep the sections from locking together. Over time the may corode. I see a chicken palace in the bear future and a concrete walk way to the pool.
I can promise the pole will not withstand 100 mph wind, unless Florida wind is different than Texas wind. Freedom First was good enough to send me a second after the first bent on m

Andrew, skip the Eagle on top as if you plan to raise the flag all the way, your flag can get caught on the wings of the eagle and it destroys the flag.
Just ordered a 20 ft telescopic pole from service first being I’m also a Veteran. Water table is high in my area so I’m gonna go about 30” deep and want to put rebar in (1/2” dia.) from my local store, I’m hoping that will stop it from leaning.
Man, you must be one strong mofo. I have this exact 30 feet model from Service First, tried to hoist it manually and couldn't hold on to it, dropping it and crushed my LED light module and gold eagle finial.

I just bought an official tagged American made flag in a larger size. It was twice as much as other flags, but that's important to me.
Let's go, flag pole fund completion, what's the new fund we going to start
Still working on that grapple.
Maybe put some heat shrink around the weight so it won't bang and ding up the pole....
Not a bad idea.
We use Pam cooking spray on our shovels to keep wet snow from sticking to them and I wonder if that would work on wet dirt.
I bet it would.

Good to know. I do take my flag down when I know we have severe winds on the way.
Now that it has been awhile how has the flag pole stood up to the winds? I am looking for a nice flag pole.
Zero issues, I even put a bigger 4x6 flag on it. That's the perfect size in my opinion.

I don't remember honestly. Probably 18 wide by 36 deep. It's survived many thunderstorms and a major hurricane.
