This is something that I didn't realize about life and money. The moment I learned this lesson (through 6 words repeated to me), it taught me everything I need to know about money and I quit.
This video is to share my story about why I quit my tech job in Singapore. It's the most vulnerable video I've ever posted, and I've been reluctant to post this for an entire year, but wanted to finally share with you the REAL reason why money matters.

Thanks for sharing, your are motivated, driven and very independent minded person and its good u know what u want in life. What u learn and achieve noone can take away from you its yours and your own life story. Yes, its the blood and sacrifice that what u have gone thru that will remain with u forever in your memory and after going thru all that it becomes your fond memories although when u suffering u almost feel like giving up that is part of life - I am talking about military training, as most Singapore males have to go thru and I do remember those training and sufferings that push you to the limit to test your limit that is to become tougher soldiers because when u physically drained its your mental fortitude that depends if u can keep on going.

I came across Max Chernov TH-cam channel and seen him interview you. When you talked about the propaganda from the media, traveling to other countries and the volunteer work that you do I immediately subbed to both of your channels and Max channel. Volunteerism has a lot to do with giving. We all know its more blessed to give than receive. We can give in different aspects like time money and efforts / thoughts ideas.
Through giving we maintain being happy, healthy and connected to the people around us. Often when we carrying out our social responsibility we help to build a greater cause to help improve the lives.
That's why KK success helped me further emphasis on my life values and helps me rethink, reinvent and realize what i already know and to make a positive change and spread good energy around.

There's a lot of good in how you came through school and the great experiences you have had. Your volunteering for the SAF is a fantastic example for not just Singaporeans, but also among the PRs, a truly outstanding gesture. I appreciate there's a stigma about being laid off, but you should not make the headline as you "quitting". In fact, when you go for the next job interview and you make a similar assertion, and they do a background check after and find that it was not the case, they may give you some hassles for not being straightforward.

Wow. I thought I was the only one who volunteered to do my national service, when at that time I was exempted because of my work in a hospital. That was a long time ago but the reasons for volunteering was not for the altruistic reasons that you have. My NS exemption stays as long as I do the work I did, which brings a lot of uncertainty of what ifs. It came out in the newspaper that I was not allowed to volunteer, as my work at the hospital was classified as essential services. The only way I can do my NS was to resign my position, which I did to the horror of my parents and many people who thought I was out of my mind. During my NS I found out about Karma from a monk and my life changed after that. I don't follow any religion, but it is the Karma thing that brought me so my happiness.

If it is not a standard procedure question in the company, I will ask if it is one. If it is not, I do answer because all workers have rights if it is not linked to a criminal act. The reason is that questions that are not structured properly can be too personal, discriminating, or influenced by some other factors (e.g. force from a higher power person). People from the top or people representing the top do not mean they do everything right.

When I went to serve the poverty-stricken community in China, many people also questioned me why....hee hee....
Anyway, I spent 13 years in China working with villages and make considerable impact, and even CCTV 1 wanted to film my life in China, but as a very low key person, I turned them down. Having back in SG, I do still volunteer, mainly with elderly community and last year in Malaysia at Refugee center. I guess as an INTJ, people will see me as weird...ha ha ha

@@TheKrazyKoala I lived in Yunnan Province....main project villages is North of Yunnan at the Hui Autonomous region. Oh, I run a fully foreign-own consulting company registered at provincial level. I'm already back in Singapore since June 2012....still doing management consulting and Privacy & Data Protection...

Depends on the company. Not all tech
Company generally operate purely for profit, one is expected to ger result for the huge pay package. Note there will no shortage of willing takers for the job to take the up challenge after the musical chair is vacated. Personally i feel social media may not be a good channel to mix personal expression with past bussiness experience. People are viewing purely for entertainment on social platform but headhunters will be doing their character judgement too base on their one side assessment too. One door closed another opens, move on and good luck.

Hi Koala, This a very deep and meaningful vid. Q: Why do you have to volunteer? In the past, I have volunteered Alot too. In fact, I probably spent as much time volunteering as I did at my regular job. And because, "No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon (Matthew 6:24), I had to choose. It would be nice to find a meaning "humanitarian" job that at least provides a decent salary for the necessities of life. I have actually applied to the U.N. years ago. But, if I were to apply today, I think I would find a meaningful job in Human Rights. Best wishes on your continued ventures. @@TheKrazyKoala I don’t think it is a good idea to talk about salaries… I think by now u would have realized that in SG a lot of locals are not happy with so many foreigners coming to work here; at all levels of work. Yes SG is great and lots of locals are very friendly and welcoming but there are always 2 sides to the pancake… also there are many “orang to kepo” and providing such personal info about salaries my not be a good idea overall…

Never trust chinese companies. They think differently from the rest of the world. I'm a local & works for an american MNC. They have strong programs for respecting cultures & gender diversity, charity drives for worldwide causes & promoting mental wellness. It opens our mind to think about the community needs in addition to just work life.
