Love the Shins, and now because of the Shins Love Deep Sea Diver. I was always a fan of the Pretenders, Jessica reminds me of Chrissie Hynde.Skins Rock.!!!!. I miss Joe. and Jesse, and Richie RIH.
@@nosferatu7325 Awesome. I'm thinking about probably getting the JM next, but wondering if the les paul special would be better to get first. I have a strat hss rn.
@@gavinfoote_Music_Surf the LP Special is a good choice. They are simple and work really well (and I love P90s). Jazzmasters are great but can be a little high maintenance (and the American ones are a lot more expensive). Hope you land one (or both) soon!
@@nosferatu7325 Thanks dude! I'm not sure if you'd played one before, but do you think the surf tones (Kinda like James' in some shins songs) is better on the LP Special, then the strat? Thanks again.
This IS one of my favorite bands. And, FWIW, it's not MEANT to be flashy. Plus, this studio performance likely isn't fully mixed as we hear it. To me, it's what the Shins DO with SEEMINGLY simplistic music, and produce a unique sound and "vibe".
Great, seems like yesterday. So innocent we were yet if you were to tell us that then we’d think you were joking. Change is inevitable but growth is an option.
This band is phenomenal!!! I've never heard anything so refreshing. Literally unbelievable!!!

I'm pretty sure this is the best era for The Shins
I share your enthusiasm for this fantastic band!
00:00 Simple Song
04:25 Phantom Limp
09:14 Rifle's Spiral
As a guitar nerd, the combo of a Fender Elvis Costello Jazzmaster and a TV Yellow LP Special is pretty appealing...
I really want both of them 😂
@@gavinfoote_Music_Surf I have the EC Jazzmaster. Still working on the Les Paul Special. Haha.

I miss the old band
I wouldn't pass on a free ticket to see the Shins. I'd go. Who's drivin' me?
Chris Kelleher i will
They remind me of Genesis in their earlier days without all the theatrics. I guess that makes me old! So be it... They are awesome!
I totally agree with you there gomedley1976. brilliant songs.
et nyt band ! som bare er fantastisk.
everyone in the band have good pants
i agree
Jim Parsons on the drums, Kevin Spacey on the vocals
I thought I was the only one who thought that about James Mercer

would be funny if the drummer suddenly got up and he had no pants afterall
I need to get some khaki pants.
Why does it feel like this is just a sound rehearsal and there's no one in the crowd?
Latent power
It's the broad from deep sea diver!
Well the music is supposed to incite melancholy not excitement.
Well,...uh,...then ,..if you like to be irritated, stick around!
too lo fi
I love that TH-cam gives me the “translate to English” option for your comment.
I love them, really I do, but they just aren't very charismatic in this video. Especially that bass player, his stage presence always sucks.
it's a rehearsal session
I don't know. Dobson irritates me.
