Discovering the Best of Indian Cuisine in South Goa!

- Travelling to Goa in India is a must! Mumbai and South Goa couldn't be more different. It's amazing how you can experience both of these places within India: the fast-paced city life in Mumbai, also known as "the City of Dreams", and then head to St Regis Resort for some luxurious relaxation. The resort is perfectly situated between a river and sea, plus its tranquil lagoon surrounded by lush gardens make it feel like an oasis - almost unreal that you're still in India! Definitely something special about this beautiful country with so much variety to explore!
I had a fabulous time at our Indian getaway! We feasted on lip-smackingly good charred chili prawns, spicy crab curry and berry cheesecake. To top it off we sabred champagne then enjoyed gazing at the night sky before enjoying dinner in an incredible bubble experience - definitely not traditional but so much fun!
We began the day with a captivating exploration at the beach, where river and sea met each other. Don’t forget to listen carefully for squeaky sand as you walk - how fun! Our tummies were satisfied by delicious Indian breakfast Mysore Masala Dosa in no time followed by an amazing lunch full of Palak Paneer, Fish Recheado and more flavors. The highlight was observing our Executive Sous Chef Gorav Verma who create Butter Chicken from scratch that left us speechless. We also learned about making naan or flatbread in a traditional wood fire tandoori oven.
Traveling to the resort was like entering an enchanted world, full of breathtaking scenery and mouthwatering cuisine! We immersed ourselves in utter tranquility after escaping Mumbai's hustle and bustle. The wonderful staff provided us with impeccable service while we indulged in signature dishes from all around the area - what a delightful experience that will remain etched into our memories forever! What a joy to watch! The food and scenery is incredible and those red night blooming water lily, when I was in Vietnam I was served a sour fish soup that used the flower stem of the water lily.

I'm glad you liked your stay in Goa! My family deity is housed in a temple in Goa, and whenever we go there for a pilgrimage, we always follow it up with some days of relaxing in a resort, and eating the local Goan dishes, especially pork (my favourite meat). Hope you enjoy your India trip.

Just want to ask you something - I read a book today about someone's travels in Hong-Kong. The writer said that the most exquisite dish he had over there is a dish called Begger's Chicken. Its made by rubbing loads of spices into the chicken, wrap it in lotus leaves and then cover it with clay and bake in coal fire for hours. When they order it, its a huge ball of clay that came and the waiter put it on a special dish and broke it with a machete. The writer says its God's food cause it smells and taste like nothing on earth.
Have you experienced this ???
Clay cooking has been around for a long time to help preserve the juices and intensify flavours, I have tried many chickens in clay cooking but not the Begger's chicken. Sounds awesome though, love that style of cooking!
Amazing travel video again Chef. Had a laugh when the chef was making your butter chicken and when he added the Kashmiri chili, said it was for color, what i have found in the states is extremely hot, and i like hot food. The food in Goa looks amazing. Thanks again
They did kindly adapt to our sensitive western palate, so although I do love spice, I can't say anything set me on fire!
@ Randy, Kashmiri Chilli is actually for the red colour as compared to the assumption of being extremely hot. Someone played a prank with you about Kashmiri chilli !

What a place.. This is really the city of dreams, as if you left the world full of noise and went to heaven,
The river meeting the sea casts its magic on the whole place, we also have a place in Egypt where the Nile River meets the Mediterranean Sea, it is like a divine miracle..!!
This sushi California Rolls looks great..it's bright green, and making that maysor masala dosa is like painting...it's like a delicious sun disk, and this butter chicken from scratch made by Chef Gorav was amazing..

Well...this isn't exactly what you would regard as the typical Indian experience. This level of Western polish, gated isolation, and concealment of the problems of India can't really be seen as authentic or common. At the same time, India's long road to greater prosperity requires the expansion of this sort of elite hospitality industry. I'm glad that you chose to show this side. Nice video.

I am from Goa and I didn't hear any mention about Goan food nor the hotel promoting Goan cuisine. This expect this specially from such a big hotel chain
All we see in North Indian men & North-Eastern staff.
Besides the beautiful beaches, Goa also has wildlife sanctuaries. From what I see you have tried mostly Indian dishes but not authentic Goan food.

Well my first question as I start to watch this video is - how much in USD is a hotel such as that in India per night? Is the food expensive or reasonable?
The 5 star hotels are about the same as anywhere, but you can find reasonable $20 a night places to stay. Food is very cheap on the street, not in 5 star hotels.

this food is not gpan food, it is north indian food . the true goan food is fish, beef and pork which is best enjoyed in the local taverns and goan food joints. this is basically a 5 star experience which you can get in any city of India
Now I know why in all the movies I see when folks go on vacation it is usually to GOA.
It is a popular tourist destination.
