I definitely take it for granted haha. Pulled the original exhaust off the other day and the exhaust bolts threaded off by hand after I cracked them loose
I live in Germany and my 07 V70 looks the same and the body is completely rust free. Its wet and cold here most of the year 😐 They built these cars right.
I live in northern Michigan and they are just as clean and rust free here. Volvo actually cares about their customers and takes the proper steps (like triple galvanized parts and panels) to keep their cars from rusting. Other cars are rusting less than 5 years old. I only own Volvo’s for that reason.

I've been looking for a next car and I always loved the look on these old volvos. Now thanks to you showing this absolute beauty, I have to say that the months that will be put to find such a good looking car (imo) at a good price and low mileage, will be worth. Great video!
I always enjoy your Volvo videos! I have a V70 classic(2007), and for reference, I'll post a case study of an ATF pressure change that was performed for my V70 earlier this year. I had the following symptoms, "shift shock while driving or decelerating, especially when accelerating from 1st to 2nd gear or decelerating from 2nd to 1st gear." All or nothing, I replaced the ATF pressure exchange using by full automatic cvtf & ATF changer, but the symptoms eventually went away. You may have already done this, but I used the following products. ・Wynn’s automatic transmission flush ・WAKO'S ATF Safety-S ・D1 Chemical SOD-1 Plus
That Volvo V70R is a beauty. I have had a 745 and a 965, loved them both. The 745 was totally plain, except it had a sunroof. Kids loved to stand on the armrest and look out of the sunroof. The 965 was automatic, leather seats, wood steering wheel and panels, loved it too. My heart still beats for a V70R allwheel, nice to look at, lot of horsepower etc., whats not to like!!!! Look forward to more videos about this car. Thanks for sharing!
That's such a good score, my best friends dad has a Laser Blue V70R generation before this car its a gorgeous car. These Volvos are super super rare in New Zealand if they weren't I'd love one for a daily driver.
Just came up on this channel I walked my neighborhood last week and found one sitting in a backyard. No intentions of buying it but this video is definitely motivating would be a great first Volvo coming from a Volkswagen and Mini background
love the content man! you make some of the best quality p2 content around. Would be sick if you made some more tutorial/how to videos on maintenence and mods
Let's gooooo what a deal! I recently picked up a 2007 Forester XT for $2500AUD which is a very similar figure to your new (to you) V70R! Valve cover gaskets are a bit leaky like most Subies so that'll be done in the near future - something I'm yet to try on a subie - but other than that it's running mint for the near 330,000kms on the car. Excited to see the journey with your amazing purchase
Sweet deal, how lucky. Have swapped bunch of stuff on my 01 T5. Biggest issue had to just buy new trans. Aside from a ghost electrical drain(old frayed wiring) runs good. I did most of standard upgrades. Keeping it for life as my project baby and I love it.
I used to own a 2002 V70 XC (5 cyl turbo) with leather seats that look similar to yours. I ended up in a U-Pull-&-Pay and got all excellent leather seats from another same model for less than $100. It was an excellent car.
I feel your pain. I bought a 2003 S80 recently, 90000 mile, manual car. It was at a Volvo breakers yard and had sat outside undriven for most of a year (in the UK). They let me do a load of work on it at the yard using spare parts, and then the day I drove it out the yard to a workshop for its safety inspection, one of the front calipers seized on and brought me to a smoky halt. Such a pain in the arse >.
What an insane find!! 🤯 Where I live, $1500 will get you a stock, non turbo, older V70 with 400k and similar, or worse, issues to fix. I'd love one of these to work on, currently driving a D5 V70 but have no time, money or place for a project car at the moment 😢 Just subscribed, I like your style and calm demeanor. No shouting, no "LETS GOOOO!", no ridiculous clickbaiting, you're actually showing the issues and work involved with them.. Good job man. 👌
Here you could get a t5 variant for under 2k with 300-400k km. though its not too big of a issue since non r volvos last pretty long without breaking apart.
I really like your Volvo videos. I've watched them all twice. Please keep up the great content. 150K are low miles. I'm about to swap the Aisin 55/51SN on my 06 XC70 (have a V70 and an XC90 too)...but keep looking for a local M66 manual. I subscribed to your primary channel as well.
my dad had one of these, and i loved driving it around and riding it, was super sad when he decided to sell it. glad to see some videos of it being modified and driven because theyre great cars (when they arent broken lmao).
wow, diggin in the manual swap. That was my dream car for so long ! Now own a audi Avant B7 6mt and a BMW E91 N54 6mt. If I ever find a deal like your, Ill definitely jump in that kind of project, to got the big 3 elite wagon jerk squad.
I have a volvo v70 P2 D5 2007 summun 180hp diesel with auto trans. It started like a charm in -24 celcisus weather. In summer I have kind of a low profile tyre on it and it handles quite well un the roads. TBH I've kind of fell in love with it. The sound of a 5 cylinder is just awesome. Changed the trans fluid and also the timing belt and also the basic maintenance. In the future I would like to tone the windows and maybe a straight pipe. Still thinking about the straight pipe... When I changed the trans fluid, it was absolutely black. Kinda want a awd version, maybe the xc 70, but Im still considering it... Greetings from Europe, Latvia!
I love the part where you pretended to be surprised that the rare car you picked up for $1500 that the guy was about to scrap broke down immediately after picking it up. You don't need to layer on fake emotion to make good content, the video was good enough as it was.
Hi, looks great. Make sure there are no cracks in any of the five cylinders... before you spend a lot of money. love your videos. Greetings from Holland
Amazing! Recently got myself a silver V70R 06 Auto, also some issues mainly hard down shifts when oil gets warm. Flush didn't help so valve body might be next or a swap. Looking forward to following you on your journey with this beauty. Hopefully I'll get to do some of the same modifications as you 👍 Great video, looking forward to the next one, keep up the great work! 🔥👊

Cool, there are no diagnostic codes related to TCM in Vida. I've also experienced neutral flares on the 2-3 shift, so combined with the hard downshifts while the oil is warm when I floor it I'm feeling it SHOULD be the valve body. I'll try to remember to update with result after the swap 😅🤞 @@dizitoCraft

my dad recently traded his old V70 in for a Electric Volvo SUV, but the v70 was mighty good! it had an Eco Boost ! great car and fast too! i think it had about 370.000 on the odometer!

Everyone seems to remove the upper bolts and loose the camber adjutment when they change axles. I always remove the nut at the bottom and and for the steering. To get it out of the way I put a ratchet strap between the control arms and it stays out of the way. Removing the brake caliper is sometimes needed but it is only a couple of minutes of work
If the PCV system is really clogged i suggest you also drop the oil pan. The return from the PCV box goes through a cast channel in the block that continues down into the oil pan. It can get really clogged but is easy to clean after ol pan removal. Do a clove test on idle and with the engine under load before and after PCV cleanup. Test under load is easy on automatic cars as a friend can push both break and accelerator while in drive for a short moment. Remember to lean in from the side and not stand in the front
