OK, tip from a long-time house renovator. The very first task is to order the waste bin from the local waste disposal company. That way, you move the debris directly into the bin and never need to move it again.
The thing I love about Andrew is that no matter what he's doing, if he's doing it shirtless it immediately becomes the most interesting thing I've ever seen and I could watch it all day.
no, it is not just you! I echo your sentiment! There is something so natural about Andrew; I think I could enjoy a glass of wine and conversation with him, and be the better for it!
Some suggestions: Old carpet can hold lots of bad stuff in it: mold spores, bacteria, toxic dust, etc.. Best to wear a good air filter mask when cutting or handling lots of old carpet and also doing other work around the house. You don't want to get carpet dust into your lungs. Living in semi-wilderness areas can be problematic. Best to make friends with your neighbors, and find out from them what problems with wild life they have had and how they deal with it. People who live in the same area will have lots of information that you can't get anywhere else. For instance, when was the last time your neighbors were given a warning to evacuate because of a nearby forest fire?
First of all: Outdoors = heaven! Secondly: Andrew = charming! Your happy demeanor made me feel like I actually got to spend a few minutes of my morning with you. Proud of you! I can't wait to see what you do with "Andrew's Acres" ❤🐾
Congratulations Andrew! Me and my husband was stationed in Washington state and we fell in love so much greenery and beautiful sceneries. Currently living in Maryland and I must say we miss Washington a lot. Best of luck to you!
That's the most inspiring feature in Andrew and even in Americans, that you are thinking like "I can learn it! I can do it!" No excuses, no crying, no "i don't have ability" sentences, but you are just doing your business, working hard, and develop.👌🏼💪🏼 Wish u luck with the new house, and power to renovate it!🍀💪🏼
Welcome to the Pacific Northwest, Andrew! I hopwe that you will love the Pacific Northwest as much as I do. I moved here in 1997 and i plan on spending the rest of my days here. The region is spectacularly beautiful, as you have noted, with beauty in every season, with long summer twilight. I've lived in Sammamish (consistently rated one of the ten best cities its size in the entire country) on Seattle's Eastside for 24 years. Even after all these years i still drive around with my mouth agape at the jaw-dropping beauty, thinking "Wow! I get to live here!" The weather is temperate all-year round and it is seldom humid. For someone who enjoys the outdoors, as you do, this is paradise. For someone wjp likes to travel, as you do, Delta's rivalry with Alaska Airlines give us non-stop travel all over the U.S, Canada, Mexico, Asia and Europe. Because of Seattle's location our flights to Asia are the shortest of any city in the lower 48 and flights to Europe are the shortest in the West. If you appreciate diversity and all the marvelous gifts that immigrants bring from their homelands to enrich our culture, then you will love it here. If you believe that everyone, regardless of their financial situation, national or racial background, family status, sexual orientation or identity is deserving of respect, dignity, equal access under the law, then this is the place for you. If you appreciate good, fresh seafood, locally sourced produce, fruit, berries, fine dining with cuisines from all over the world and locally grown and produced wines that are recognized worldwide as being among the finest, then you are in the right place! If living in a region that is a world-leading center of high-tech, aviation and space flight innovation, as well as a leader in bio-technology development and health care, then this is it. The early reasearch on COVID-19 as well as the revolutionary breakthrough in MRNA technology that brought us the Pfizer and Moderna Vaccines in record time, in spite of and not because of the Trump administration, yep, developed, right here at the University of Washington. As a health care professional yourself, this should make the region a good choice. If this all sounds too good to be true, I know that the region has its issues. but i believe you have made a wonderful choice that you will never regret! Andrew, welcome to Washington and Welcome home!
Dude, congrats on the new home! My husband and I bought our first home a few years ago and it's been an amazing experience making it our own. Here's to many years of happy memories in your new place!
Owning your own home is a dream for everyone. And a fixer upper can be a goldmine if the price was right. Looks like a really nice house for the most part, and I'm sure when you're done with it will be totally amazing. Your back yard, and the scenery......... The peace and quite........ PRICELESS.
Sitting in the back yard, looking at the trees, listening to the birds. Reading in the sun. Toes in the moss. Some of my favorite parts of living in western Washington :)
If you are going to purchase power tools for jobs around the house, stick with one brand that has a wide selection of tools. If you buy different brands, you will be buying multiple batteries that won’t be interchangeable. Stick with one brand, I would suggest DeWalt, Milwaukee, or Ryobi. They each offer a great selection of tools. Also, Johnson & Johnson has a great selection of Bandaids and Bandages; Bactine is a good antiseptic, and it contains Lidocaine.
Hey Andrew, I’ve been following you for a while now. Congratulations on the home purchase! thrilled you chose Washington State! You will love it here. U.S News voted Washington State #1 Best Places to Live, two years in a row. I would not be surprised if you already did your research. You’re a smart guy. anyhow, let the adventure begin. breathe the fresh air and marvel at all the trees!
My father and I stopped off at Crater Lake in June 1963 on our way from Berkeley to Minot. There was about as much snow around that June as you saw. It is a stunning caldera.
Knew that was Crater Lake as soon as saw the parking lot... welcome to the PWN, Andrew! Love the house and has great potential.. there probably is alot of invisible mold in that wallpaper, carpet and house in general... i definitely would be wearing a mask and actual clothes so all that dust and yuck isn't all over ya.. don't put carpet back in there!
Congratulations on the house! I've renovated a few houses and there's nothing more satisfying than making the house into your home. Love the channel! All my best
Andrew, I can't believe you're moving to Washington state from your home state in Arkansas on this video during your quarantine to live in the new house and I love it, so I'm proud of you for being my idol!!
OMG! that will be a lot of works! we remodel 2 houses ourselves for the last 5 years...one even started from unlivable condition, took us 2 years to finishing remodel it. let not talk about budget...and we did almost everything ourselves beside the tiles. But i am excited for you Andrew! you will have so much fun...and rewarding when portion by portion is done!
Hey Andrew, I love your new place, it's perfect for you! Also I wanted to thank you for all of your incouraging videos, they actually helped me come out myself! So Thank You Andrew, hope to see you at Pride one day.
So So proud of you for doing this. Yes, learning on the job is the best. I did the same with my house. You bought a nice house in a great area. Love the woods. Really looking forward to seeing what you are going to make of it. It's going to be pretty! And if you don't know something just ask in the video. You will have a lot of answers!! Good luck, have fun, and actually a little jealous. I should get a reno again!! Maybe after college!!
WA & OR are both gorgeous states (lived there 6 years), but are run by Marxists loons. Nature is king, and having lots of acreage is a huge plus. I am sure it will turn into something wonderful. Looks like this might be in Peirce County, as you would not find this amount of acreage in greater Seattle, and it would cost a small fortune. Good luck with all the renovation.
Congrats! What an adventure! I lived in Washington for 3 years. Absolutely beautiful area, Coming back for some motorcycle riding and such in a few weeks. There's a little gem of a town called Packwood you should check out when you want a little adventure!
Congratulations on the new home; and may you have so many years of wonderful memories there. Best of luck! And I'm so happy to see shirtless Andrew. Thank you
Congratulations on your purchase..the very best wishes in your new house ...looking forward to seeing it when it's all finished..hope you have many happy years there ..
Congratulations. Welcome to the dread, I mean, the joy of homeownership. Seriously, it feels good to live in a home you own. Lots of work ahead of you,
I'm so happy for you!!! All my life I wanted my own home I built tree house and forts.I bought my house in 2005 and have enjoyed transforming it.I can't wait to see how you transform your house.
Congratulations on the new house. Looks like you have a few years of remodeling ahead of you. It will be a lot of work, but also a lot of fun. Good luck big guy.
Woo! Welcome to Washington!! 😁 That house looks like it may have been built at a time when asbestos was still in use, so if you haven't already, I'd definitely check on that and take precautions as you renovate. But that said: you've got a great project ahead of you, and hope you love all the green! 💚
Congratulations on your new home. You have your work cut out for you. I'm sure when you're done is going to be a masterpiece. It's awesome to see you again.
Enjoy the green. Enjoy the solitude. Working to transform your new digs into your vision is exciting. Just you and your doggy friend. The world outside urban settings is much better. Good luck to you.

Congratulations on your new home! You are unequivocally, the sexiest handyman I have ever seen. The house purchase seems to be making you quite happy. Sounds like you have a design plan in mind. Go open a HOME DEPOT or LOWES charge account promptly. There are perks for card members. And you will need them with a project this size. I am certain I want to follow your progress in the reno. Be well and safe. Shout out to Arbor to!
i am in awe of your location! What a view. At first, I thought you were looking at Mount Baker, but then you said "Mount Rainier" so you are somewhere in Washington State where you have a picture-window view of Mount R! As for your home, I look forward to seeing what a pair of young eyes will do with what appears to be some really good spaces, once all of the old stuff (ugly carpets, ugly cupboards, etc.) get replaced.
Listen, your traveling companion is as cute as he can be, and he can do NO wrong, and make NO wrong moves. I seriously think you made a good purchase, although I don’t know what you paid. It needs a lot of work, but you’re going to turn it into a show place. It has great potential.
Enjoy!!! I see a truck, power tools and lots of visits to the store and estate sales. Tip, wet sheet across openings cuts down on dust movement to your living area. And demo is free therapy!
So happy to see how excited you are about the new place, It will be a labour of love for you. just one note about the tile that you showed in the one room where the carpet was removed, be very careful if you remove that as well, as it may contain Asbestos. It depends on its age but from looking at it, it appears to be from the 70's or 80's I may be wrong. Just be safe.
Your new home looks so wonderful. Your back yard is the best and there is so much that you can do so thankyou for sharing this new part off your life❤❤❤
Most of the rain is light rain, and most Midwest and Northeast places have more annual rainfall than Seattle's 37". The Olympic Rainforest, otoh, can get over 100". Still, lots of cloudy days (November is the wettest).
Wow I love the house I love that wood work!!! Some new doors windows and flooring would be amazing. I love decorating houses. I can’t wait until you finish. I’m literally so excited as if I purchased the house. 🙂🙂🙂 Good luck can’t wait 🙂
Hoping to see lots of vlogging during the renovation! So jealous! Across the lil border here and half a mil gets a 1 bedroom condo! 😩 As an Design Consultant, I hope you keep some of those wood ceilings and the shingles! You could whitewash them. Place will look so good! Would love to give any advice needed.
All the best to you Andrew. Your new place appears to have incredible potential. Can't wait to see updates on the renovation. Thanks for providing such a lift...you are incredibly fun to watch....(wish I could 'know' what Arbor is thinking throughout your journey.)
Oooh you visited Crater Lake! Love that place. I visited in the summer so it was warmer but there was still snow. Was like the swinter Phineas and Ferb episode. Looking forward to the house tour!
Well welcome to Washington if you ever want recommendations I can recommend some beautiful places to visit all across Washington that I personally enjoy myself .
Congratulations Andrew on your new venture. I am so pleased for you. Well done. Can’t wait to see your future videos on here. Watching from Southern Spain, love of love, Frank xxxx
If this was on the East Coast I would say you are on your way into a horror movie plot ahaha the cute guy that leaves the big city for some house in the woods

Love how excited you are about your FIRST new house. Everyone feels the same way. It’s super exciting renovating. Good luck
Is it just me, or does everyone else feel just a little bit better about life when they spend a little bit of time with Andrew?
YES!!!
no, it is not just you! I echo your sentiment! There is something so natural about Andrew; I think I could enjoy a glass of wine and conversation with him, and be the better for it!
I used to . Truly truly did now I have to look really herd past the typical of it all
NOT REALLY
Yeah true, but he's pretending to be happy. What he really needs is ME! That would make him happy...and me too!
I could literally watch him fix his house all day

The house and land are absolutely lovely! I can't wait to see what you do with the house.
Congratulations

It’s very exciting getting your first home
Oooh you visited Crater Lake! Love that place. I visited in the summer so it was warmer but there was still snow. Was like the swinter Phineas and Ferb episode. Looking forward to the house tour!
So...WELCOME TO Washington you'll love it here
Just perfection for these times.
More shorts shots ripping into the carpet please.😜😘😇🥳😊
Well welcome to Washington if you ever want recommendations I can recommend some beautiful places to visit all across Washington that I personally enjoy myself .
Congratulations Andrew on your new venture. I am so pleased for you. Well done. Can’t wait to see your future videos on here. Watching from Southern Spain, love of love, Frank xxxx
If this was on the East Coast I would say you are on your way into a horror movie plot ahaha the cute guy that leaves the big city for some house in the woods
It can happen on the West Coast, too
It can also happen out here in Texas (think chain saw massacre) LOL
You are so brave. I hope the renovation goes smoothly. Be safe!
I love this one day I’ll renovate my own hose so watching this helps 😊😊
