There are people in this world that love conflict. Even when you mind your business, they find a way to disrupt your peace. You handled this better than I would have. I would still get a few cameras just incase.

Not only that, but the worst part is when you do mind your own business...they will spread lies about you that are not true and next thing you know the other neighbors act differently around you
I know it sucks, but i can totally relate to what you're saying and this is what I am dealing with right now
A pair of awesome headphones work really well to cancel out their disruptive force

I have a situation where a neighbor, an old lady that whenever she walks in front of my place, she leans on my micro garden and pinch my basils, always stealing my basils, one day I told her: "NO!" She got very mad. And she has her own micro garden too, why on earth she stares at my stuff and take it. Get your own. I can't stand people like that. Rude, disrespectful, entitled. She has nice clothes, have a good life, she has free rent where lives with the daughter and son in law, and coming to my micro garden and stealing from a hard worker that pays for everything. Give me a break. And she keeps staring at my garden, being noisy, and one day she stopped in front of my garden and in front of my kitchen window and staring, like she is checking if I am home and not seeing her, and then I stood up and started cleaning my throat to tell her, hinting her: "I saw you, get out, get lost, entitled" and she left. I feel like to put a camera that talks to her: "It's rude staring, you don't have business here, bug off!"

Demo Unit Hello Demo, although I see you point, I must respectfully disagree with you. I believe that politicians beco.e what we WANT them to become. Case in point, nearly every politician that has spoken truthfully, has lost; reason being is that almost everyone wants all these promises, but does not want to pay for them. Politicians can be the most truthful people in our society, if we demand that of them...if we elected the honest ones, that would start a trend. All they are is a reflection of our society. Everyone wants tax cuts and more benefits...Any politician who goes against these tenets will never get elected.

Demo Unit Hello there, D Unit!! Wow, many excellent points you have raised here, paragraph #1 spoke to the influence of media...I agree with you, they should be objective in their discourse, but it's almost like the don't even try anymore to hide their biases. Once I saw their actions through the election, and continuing to this day, against President Trump...he painted such a clear picture of them, coupled with Twitter (which you mention as well), I agree with you, politics will never be the same. After President Trump's historic meeting with Kim Jung Un, I was appalled with the line of questions from George Stephanopoulos. So far, I have to give Trump very high marks. Although I am dead against his ideas on immigration and a few other issues...what you said about the best ideas coming to the surface, giving the little guy at least a small chance. Heck, Dennis Rodman did more for peace with North Korea than the Bushs and the Clintons.

You neighbor is worried about security cameras because of his disability claim. If a security footage showed him up and about on your property when in fact his claim may be stating he is immobilized, then he could 1) loose all his benefits and 2) subject to a court hearing that may require him to return monies he collected in the past and possibly a sentence if he were proved fraudulent. I knew it was in the store still so after I spent an hour looking for it I found it behind some boxes in a stock room. I replaced the expensive phone with a note that said "Turn around and SMILE, you're fired. ;) ". On the wall behind her I had put up a camera (fake). But yeah.. my father served in WWII, and when he returned he thought he was going to be a pig farmer, but he couldn't even take their life.. they became pets.. so were the chickens.. and the guineas.. :) Birds would flock and sit next to him, and built nests inside his smokehouse.. he could run his tools, but they were never afraid of him.. I could recount so many of his stories to you... He and his outfit as he called it, traipsed across Europe by the skin of their teeth since their landing.. The one thing I always had to assure him of before he passed was that God would forgive him for everything he did in the war.. Just a good ole country boy.. a boy who went there and came back a man.. Him and all his brothers including twin returned.. one not so good emotionally.. From finding love in England to having to leave her there..to witnessing men hanging from trees from a failed jump.. massacred U.S. soldiers by Nazi troops.. to taking a crane through the middle of France just to see the Eiffel Tower and nearly being court-martialed.. to grieving over two fellow soldiers who committed suicide before they made it back home (they were found out to be gay) so as to spare their families humiliation survivor benefits would be distributed and avoid chemical experiments in prison.. so many stories.. I loved that man with all my being.. the gentlest creature on the face of the earth.. he never cussed anyone.. Only three times I ever witness him cry.. suicide of his eldest brother.. the death of my mother.. and talking about the two men who should've been able to come home, no matter who they loved.

After they were sued and charged several thousands of dollars to re-survey the markers they both ended up broke and had to move out of their own property. If the law is ever called in guess what side will matter to them? This is why cameras matter and why I have them pointing every witch way all over my property. I'm lucky to have pretty good neighbors so my cams are just generally to keep an eye out for roving dogs, wild life and general security.

@@dscottfr A brilliant way to deal with a bully? Tell them the rules, pretend you can't enforce the rules, then when they break them, enforce them. For example, he might've put up no trespassing signs and then left the property, so the bully might think you won't see trespassing, but they don't know you have cameras.
To catch thieves, I've put out an obviously broken camera where it's seen and then three good cameras where they're hidden, and people look at the broken camera and send themselves to jail.

Love your channel, I just found it, but you are like a mirror reflection of me, lol and I can relate with you so much. I didn't save the world or do any crazy medal of honor stuff but, I served, and then worked as a military contractor for several years after, then as a paramedic on the task force. Now I'm retired and bought the family farm, which was previously owned by "the family" that ownes most of the land around here and then just recently bought the 80 acres behind me. They did me the same thing. "We owned everything you see all the way up and down the highway Yada yada and they were going to run their dogs on the land behind my house. As you did, I politely allowed them to hunt out that year and even offered to share it the next. They cut my stands down and destroyed my food plots and had the nerve to leave a note in one of the stands "this has been my families land for over 100 years, and we did not agree to you messing up our hunting land by adding plots that are going to take our deer away. Do not continue to do anything on this part of the land without talking to my dad or uncle" luckily for me, the dad knew what the end resukt would be if his son kept this up and brought him to my doorstep BY THE EAR, to apologize and ask what needed to be done to repair what him and his friends destroyed. Long story short, I've gotten along with the guys for 10 years now (except the son). So I recently bought more land attached to my plot and the son called the exact on me and requested a survey for drainage purposes, then lied to them about owning part of my land and the epa designated 76 of my 80 acres as "natural flood drainage" and now I can't touch it. I reported him and even showed proof that he didn't own any of the la d therefore, the plot he "was building a house on" does not exist. They don't seem to care, and now I have 76 acres of land that's completely useless and the value is gone. Any suggestions how I can get this remedied? Thanks for your service, I don't know what you went through or the nightmares you have from it, but I know what I did and what I deal with so I can relate to you if you ever need me. I know what writing your will at 17 is... thanks again and hope everything's going great!

In 4th Grade my son had a teacher who was very mean to him. He would come home and complain - and I would simply tell him - YES - that sounds very unfair - but son - you will have to deal with people like this in your grown up life - so keep telling me about the things this teacher is doing - because son it sounds like these things are not educational or fare to little kids. Then one day my son and I were at the batting cages and another Mom walked up and expressed impressive performance of my son - we struck up a conversation and she got around to asking me were my son was in school - I told her - she asked if we had Ms. Waters - I told her yes - she asked how we liked her - I told her well I don't want to get in a law suit with her. The Mom then went into a laundry list of how her son was treated by her. I thanked her and told her - she gave me a good idea. The teacher always gave them ten spelling words on Friday and Monday they were to turn in 10 sentences using the spelling words. So that weekend - our sentences reflected all the mean things this teacher had done to my son that he had reported to me. The mean crap stopped - and we no longer had the sentence part of the spelling words on weekends. Funny how the truth prevails over evil bullies.

I am sincerely sorry that you had to put up with this mess. I'm from the Carolinas but have called Texas my home for the past 25 years. I'm still the new guy albeit I own one of the bigger farms in East Texas and I have a cabin on the place and I allow my sons, and my police, fire and veteran friends to hunt and stay in the cabin for free year round. And I had a neighbor like that. Wish I had your patience. When the bully neighbor thought it would be cool to intimidate my youngest son (15y at the time) and even went so far as to lay hands on him, I grabbed my dog (Belg Mal) and went looking for him. My dog is trained and quiet. We found him setting up a tree stand on my property. Yep, got into an argument with him. Yep, he raised his voice to me and yep, he took his finger and poked me in the chest to make a point. My dog didn't like that. My neighbor learnt fear that afternoon. My dog never bit him. He wouldn't do that unless I told him to. But my neighbor didn't know that. It's been maybe 5 years since we've seen him too. Oh, I've seen him around town but he stays clear. Bullies are the same everywhere.

Shirley Briggs at what point did I say that I needed help with PTSD symptoms?
I am a health professional, actually, and have a pretty good handle on MY health.
The issues I mentioned, as is being discussed in this video, are with a NEIGHBOUR who is behaving badly. Moving to a more rural setting would minimize exposure to people who may not be dealing, effectively, with their own mental health challenges. Cities are rife with these kinds of issues. Therefore, a better place for someone like me, who has seen enough conflict, is outside of major urban areas.
Thanks for caring about my life, though, Shirley. You sound just like an old friend of mine!

Yeah, video cameras don't cost that much and are worth the money spent. Generally video cameras don't stop crime, ask anyone who works in a convenient store, but the cameras increases the likelyhood of arrest, and imprisonment. They make good evidence.

I used to work in a convenience store. Was robbed three times there. One guy shoved me back and grabbed the drawer full of money. We were taught to let them have the money but because he shoved me, I reacted. I slapped the drawer of money out of his hand and the money fell to the ground. His shoving me back set off the silent alarm. I had an alarm button under my shirt. Another robbery a guy came in with his shirt over his face, yelling give me the money over and over. I was not behind the counter but instead cleaning the store. He was standing between me and the cash register. I was not going to walk closer to him to give him the money. So yell over and over get out of here. He left after me yelling long enough to get out of here. The third robbery got money but not that much. He had his hand in his pocket and said he had a gun. It look more like a knife. He got a little more that $26.00 plus a small bag of groceries including tampons. He and the guy who drove the car went to jail. Police said they were drug users. He had robbed another store where he had pulled out a kitchen knife. The girlfriend of the guy who drove the car would come in crying because her boyfriend was in prison on Valentine's day and blamed his incarceration on us. She was not very bright. None of them were.

I think my favorite similar story was the 20 acres my parents owned when I was growing up. The neighboring property was used every year for crops and the guy planted over my parents right-of-way to their property as well and never asked. No big deal, we had adequate access from the other piece of property so we let it go. The guy also planted on the county right-of-way too, which nobody cared because it benefited this guy, and didn't hurt anybody, so again, no harm, no foul. Then an 18 wheeler had to make a delivery and had stopped because he could not make the turn with the long trailer. My dad drove 18 wheelers for 20+ years and he and a neighbor assured the guy that he was OK to make the turn, even though it would smash some of the crop that was on the county right-of-way - which legally he should not have been using. Later that day the guy saw the damaged crop and went ballistic. My dad tried to calm the guy down and be polite, but the man started cursing up a storm in front of my dads wife & kids (my brother and me). My dad asked him not to use language like that in front of his wife and kids and the guy kept on going. My dad told the guy if he didn't calm down and stop using foul language around his wife and kids, that he and the neighbors may stop allowing him to use land that didn't belong to him for growing crops and that he would cut down the crops in his driveway right-of-way. The jerk kept on, so my dad just got in the truck and left. He contacted a surveyor and had the driveway plotted out, and the county easement, then got the tractor and bushog and mowed down everything that wasn't on the guys property, put in a driveway and eventually a fence on both sides so the guy couldn't drive over our driveway. The jerk called the police and they came out, looked over the situation, spoke to my dad and got the earful of what happened. When it was all said and done the police told the guy not to plant on the county property, to stop harassing his neighbors regarding the 18 wheeler running over the count right-of-way, and told the guy to watch his mouth around our family or he would charge him. My dad always used his farm tractor to level out the road and smooth out potholes in the dirt road, even past our driveway...he simply added mowing the county easement several times a year as the guy (tried) to continue planting on the county right-of-way. The jerk finally sold the property a few years later and we ended up with some proper neighbors.

Just like half this country...and 99 out of 100 miscreants where I (sadly) live - NY! My husband & I saved enough to buy our home, 8 years ago - NY real estate is obscenely overpriced, as are the taxes. The first day we moved in, I had the misfortune to meet my loud-mouthed, illiterate neighbor, her boyfriend (she'd been thru' a couple, before she finally moved) & her not-too-bright, unruly, but basically good kids. Within the first 10 minutes of conversation, I learned she was receiving food stamps (EBT card) and her 2 teenaged girls were on SSI, for being learning disabled. Because she saved all that money on food & the govt (my husband, I & the other neighbors) was paying her mortgage, I got to watch her go shopping twice a week & even got stuck signing for her FedEx packages from Bloomingdales & Macy's, until I told the poor delivery guy I wasn't willing, any longer. Her last boyfriend got into a car accident (with his ESCALADE) and wound up with a hefty settlement...funny how parasitic trash ALWAYS finds a way to win a lawsuit...and he & my welfare trash neighbor bought a huge house, not too far away, with an inground pool! haha It seems like THEY'RE the smart ones - they live the good life while people like us work our fingers to the bone & pay the bills...ours AND theirs. Welfare recipients used to be embarrassed - when my Pop split from my Mother, she was on it for a short while, when I was little, but we were embarrassed. It's what got us OFF of it so fast!!

Sadly, some people suck the air from the room with behaviors worse than most dogs. Not likely pleased with a castle by the sea if the gulls follow the fish they thrive on.
I once had a neighbor who could not figure out why our adjoined gardens didn't thrive at one end. After his passing, the land changed hands a few times then a new guy uses the place as a rental. He allowed a tenant to park an old truck next to his garage and it gets snowed in, here in Maine. Once snow blocks you in, it takes a great about of work to get it out, so I left it until spring. With the way cleared, I took a case of beer to the tenant and said it is time to move his truck from my land and he threw a tantrum. I took back the beer and checked with the authorities. I wrote the landlord who within a week had the truck in their driveway, but disputed that it was my land. Eventually he conceded it was mine.
With no interest in a garden, he continued the plowing of snow to my side. Its just water, right? Now that he erected a fence, he could not push snow to my side and the grass that grows there now is somehow greener. He also has to figure out how to haul off the snow as he just created a very nice paved parking lot for staff and customers. Then I realized that for 25 years any road salt likely collected from city plowing was pushed to my side as each owner/tenant cleared the drive. From a family of mostly farmers, I am a terrible one. I have a tomato hedge where I can't see the soil below or one plant ends and another begins, except for the size of cherry verses a Better Boy and my Okra plants that are no higher than the longest pods could be.
I am not gloating, but sometimes it is nice to see a someone aggressive person paint themselves into a corner! I think the daycare is great. I hear kids and laughter in a fenced in playground and security lights that help me when in my yard as I am twice his age.
Taking your finest cobbler over to your neighbor as a peace offering doesn't sound like a solution. Perhaps an electronic "Invisible Fence" is the better way as she wants her seclusion by at least intimidation. Please note My sister in law used to take her dog for a walk on her street. Before long, "Freckles" died and his blood sample had a banned pesticide in his system. I understand the EPA checked the area and found the yard as most banned chemical have a long effect on the land. Perhaps the chemical was intended only for a pest free yard, or a deterrent to others who walks their dogs there from even coming around or both. With what you described, she may not be thinking friendly thoughts about you or your dog and perhaps a slice of bologna might be her way of getting a message to you that she is not friendly past her makeup mirror!

    • @Derby12hat
      @Derby12hat 6 ปีที่แล้ว

My sarcasm was intended to say this guy is not embarrassed as he wanted to get away with it for life, if he could. Sorry if I gave you an impression that I thought this "Slime ball" as you put is had any redeeming characteristics! I was in the Navy when the DOD started cracking down on those who defrauded America like over spec'd $600 toilets seats in aircraft or $300 claw hammers. I'll admit that a 250 lb passenger in a military aircraft with a toilet might get bounced around while conducting his duty and a 1000 lb rating for the seat may be necessary. For a hammer at then prices, the military could but 20 if the high end models were $15! I have been a whistle blower myself, when it came to Medicaid & Medicare dollars. When any government is scammed, their level of government needs reasonable people who are not swayed by association and the capacity to properly investigate and assign the charges. Rewards? Yes! Yet do we really need for Americans to apply for rewards before reporting someone? Some politicians and career civil servants are all to willing to allow fraud to start and/or continue if it fits their ideals, even if is diminishes benefits to Americans who truly do qualify! If it were up to me, this guy scamming the state for a living would be made a bride for a place surrounded with barbed wire for his likely minimum 6 months, plus restitution !

Good story. My friend was telling me he setup surveillance cameras for his buddy (Pat) who noticed diesel going missing from the tank he kept in his yard. The recordings showed it was Pat's neighbor and best friend who would leave a jerry-can behind the tank on his way over to visit each evening. He'd spend an hour or so visiting and having coffee and, on his way back to his own place, he'd fill the jerry-can from the Pat's tank. So Pat put the tape into the video player in the kitchen and set it ready to play, and when the neighbor came over the next evening, he simply said "I will be back in a minute. I have something to do in the yard", pressed Play and walked out. The guy was left sitting in his Pat's kitchen, watching a video of himself stealing the diesel. They never talked about it, and stayed friends but the diesel theft obviously stopped. I thought it was an interesting way of handling it
