Make sure you build a guard tower close to the gate or you will risk whatever is in the woods to break down the gate and loose everything
Im on the 4th mission of the campaign and still dont have a guard tower yet?

@@Holy_Nocturne That is a scout tower, it makes scouts, it doesn't shoot projectiles at invaders. There are Balista towers tho

The game is far from even decent. If strategy game is made to be played/executed/processed forward in just one way - that is not a strategy game, but story telling tunnel game that tries to pretend to be something else. Tried, played and had exact same problem/result so no, this is not even remotely worth picking up game.

That's literally not true. There are many different ways and tactics you can use, it Begins with how you choose for your Gords, how fast you're going to search the map, the bonuses you use, which items you use and who gets those. And there is more, its not like extremely linear, it may be looks like that in the first campaign missions, but it's not, I can tell you that

@@MLMariss no problem 🙂🤝 give it a second try, it may seem very difficult at the beginning, But I'll guarantee you will have these "ahhhh" moments 😄 it's a game you'll have to learn the mechanics and chain reactions first, but when you got this it will be easy 👌 Gord is really an underhyped Gem 💎
this game is very well made, all the little extra animations make it exciting to watch. i added this one to my wishlist
A RPG classic: Gord the Rogue. A mindblowingly well written book series written by the legend Gary Gygax. If you want some RPG history, read that them.
actually, according to a local game magazine, the game is named after a slavic type of fortified settlement. also called a 'grad', 'gard' or 'gorod'.
That said its a cool reference, so its not out of question that its refering to gord the rogue as well.
That's the first thing I thought of when I saw the name of the game. It is a very enjoyable series.

Funny thing is, you could rob the map blind (there are MULTIPLE gold and herb cashes), and also it is possible to find another crossing of the river, for wich you do not need to sacrifice no one. Only you need to go through a village of some Glums or what are they.

Did you happen to try a variation of that fight where you cast Haze later in the fight; wait until after the rat swarm finishes stun locking your team?
Interesting thing to note about that meadery. Mead is honey wine, but when first brewed it's very weak in terms of its AbV; more like honey-flavored water once it's cooled from the boiling. So it's vanishingly weak to start...but after you let the bacteria from the air accrue and it starts fermenting, it gets stronger. After a year, a mug of that will have you halfway to la-la land by the time you reach the bottom. If it's survived being drunk, that is, or hasn't spoiled. You might be surprised to learn this, but even booze can go bad if you let it.
Well, of course they get Witcher vibes. Both that and Gord are based heavily in Slavic culture. Don't be surprised when a leshen arrives to assert its dominion over the wood your little village inhabits, much less when the stag-skull starts sending wolves and ravens to harry you.

Is there anything you can do to prevent mead from spoiling? I'm not a... vinter? Brewer? I don't make mead myself but I run a lot of medieval fantasy TTRPGs so I try and pick up information important to that sort of thing whenever possible.
@@xeltanni8999 mead itself is a way to preserve the honey. And it’s not bacteria it’s yeasts that ferment it. Initially there is no alcohol but a yeast culture is added and over the course of months the sugars are fermented to alcohol.

@@xeltanni8999 proper bottling will preserve mead for years. it is a wine so the longer its bottled the better it becomes

Probably playing a custom scenario will have your base attacked regardless of what's there.

When there is the option to "rename" a castmember. I like to rename them towards their preferred profession (Drogomir would have become "Scoutsie") Just to keep tabs.

NO WAY I’m the only person who thought this was GORN the vr game and thought they just changed the whole game all the sudden 😂😂
I got stuck later on the campaign when you get access to making another settlement… the campaign simply did not progress further lol
Had explored the whole map and made 2 settlements and nothing happened..
This looks great, like a proper version of that abandonware game, Folk Tale. I wanted to love Folk Tale so much, it had so much potential and so much charm, but word on the vine is that it was pretty much just a scam.
The intro main menu reminds me of Gravity Falls intro when all the main characters gather around the camp fire for some scary stories it i have no doubt if Baba Yaga jump behind them and scare them to hell.

Why does it skip ahead at one point at the monster fight?
I've long found it funny that so many fantasy games have the characters sit around a huge fire with a jungle background. Being a lover of the outdoors I don't see why the fire is so big and they sit so close in a warm climate. I haven't seen people make such a big fire when there wasn't snow on the ground.
But for this game it looks great! I've been hoping someone would make a spiritual sequal to the Warcraft games for years. I do wonder if you can effectively crosstrain people so you don't need to pay for a standing army. Kind of like the Marine slogan of Everyone's a Rifleman.
This isn't a warcraft successor is any way.

I quit playing temporarily until I learn about what I'm doing other than that it has potential just has a learning curve and ign doesn't care about it
