The beauclair and bank of sansretour are literally one of the best and most melodic themes I have ever heard. And I have listened to it 1000 times Over years. Never gets old. Whenever I am in a bad time i listen to them to feel relaxed and it works so good. Legendary dlc.
i can totaly relate that every person have some games that get him out from dim days me too zelda Totk was such a game its not the best story for an old person like me me to get into it 25+ yealrs of age but it was a wonderful vibe to the game that bring me some relief from what i was going through oh yeah assassins creed odessey was such a game i have good memories with it
They absolutely ignored games like Stalker anomaly with the gamma mod. This game is something else. I think it should be on that list just because it is totally different from what we get from that list.
I agree I’m a single player over multi player! I guess the closer I get is GTA online but that’s be a while! Never played a souls games but that might change soon!
I played Kingdom Come Deliverance for around 400 hrs and I cherish every moment of that.. most immersive rpg ever.. I have finished the main story along with all dlcs and side quests twice and maxed out all skills and stats... obviously you can see that I got totally obsessed with this game because of how natural, real and immersive it was and still play it to this day.. it still drops my jaw to see all the cool little details I still find to this day in all the different quests in this game... I actually feel like a real medieval knight living in the 1400s... its amazing, surreal and unreal... realism and historical accuracy is totally off the charts for this one...
the game had so much charm and considering it was warhorse's first game is mindblowing i have a little under 300 hours and i havent even played the dlcs yet
For me a game that surprisingly kept me playing for so long was Middle-earth: Shadow of War. Recruiting orc captains, hunting down nemesis or pit fighting are so fun and addicting
3 weeks, 200 hours of playtime? You spent more than 8 days out of 21 days of your life on playing a game. A little more than 40 percent of your day is spent on gaming. Well done. I don't know how you manage it. It takes me 3 or 4 months to play that much, and even then I'm pushing it to the very limit. I'm assuming you don't have a job?
It's a great game, especially in its pure role-playing ability and the realness of it all. It's a slow game though, hence why it is very easy to spend 100 hours in it when you become engrossed in it.
I'm roughly halfway through my current play at 131 hours and close to a total of 1900 hs on Steam but as I played on a ...lets call it 'free demo' at first, I may have over 2500 hs in total, I never even tried to rush through it.
@@DoomsdayMayBeOkaydude i was having a rough day when I got to the monastery quest and it got worse when I started it lmao. I just looked up who the guy was and stealth killed him and left.
I went well over 100 hours in my first Elden ring run, also happened to be my first ever souls game. I tried to go to every part of the map that I could find
Kingdom Come is one of my favorite games, ever. I love how realistic it is, with no magic, dragons or mythical creatures. I think it's highly underrated and I hope they're making a second one, soon!
it took me like 3 years to finish The Witcher 3 and its DLCs. what an experience. that game is massive, yet every side quest or random enconter felt unique and meaningful.
So true, usually i get tired of repeating the same mechanism used in side quests, witcher 3 is the only game where I looked forward to side quests because of its mysterious nature. You begin with a random investigation and have no idea how the story is gonna turn out. The DLCs was the best I've played in any game. I always thought it would revolutionize gaming, but turned out to be a classic all other games could look up to but never reach
Same here! There were so many great contracts and side quests that I was just lost in the world and especially the DLCs, Gaunter will forever haunt me but Regis was my freaking bro😁
I soooo badly wanna go back and play it again, but I remember how I spent well over 300 hours on it my first time WITHOUT DLC, and it's what always scares me away from a second complete playthrough. I own the DLC too, but have never really played it.
@@stevenstump246 the DLCs are totally worth it, and yeah it's gonna take a lot of time to complete blood and wine, heart of stone is comparatively small yet both are equally great. Both stories sucks you in right away.
Kingdom Come deliverance is the single most immersive game I have ever played. I literally spent hours just hanging out at taverns and playing dice... My only real gripe with the game and the one thing I'd caution people about is the combat. Not that it's bad, but it's got quite a skill ceiling if you're new to these type of games and it's especially frustrating when you're fighting more than 1 opponent, because the mechanics seem to be designed for 1v1. But again, an utterly immersive game. A beautiful and authentic medieval setting, great music, great acting, and a good/great story all accumulates into the most immersive game I have played.
@@leefagan Kingdom Come: Deliverance utilised motion capture recording; the actors quite literally walked every step and spoke every word that you see in the game's cutscenes...
@@leefagan You don't know what 'motion capture' means? Every movement was actually done by an actor and in most cases these are actually the ones who voiced the character, the main ones at least.
I loved that game. The story was so good and playing the game it actually felt like I was a blacksmiths son being transformed into a sword swinging machine lol. The story is beyond amazing and actually had me tearing up at the end. Only one other game did that to me and RDR2 did that as well
@@FSeg7 I have horendous graphical bugs they're so bad to the point where it took like 20 minutes or more just for one area to load mind you have a 3080 with i7 10-900KHF and 32gb of ram so i stopped playing the game entirely because of it most cute scenes the textures weren't even loading in.
Last third of it burned me out with again fox shrines to find, duel outposts, enemy camps, more repetitive sheet, etc... I wanted it to end after the game's 2/3. I did love the Tomb Raider temples to parkour up, needed more of them!
I dont think ive ever spent longer than 30hrs each playthrough. I've replayed the game 3 times since its release and its amazing, but I personally dont see how someone could spend any longer than 40hrs on it.
For me Red Dead Redemption 2 fits on this list. Long and incredible story. Tons of side activities. An open world that sucks you in with it's environmental storytelling and atmosphere. An absolutely incredible game that I have sunk so much time into
This needs to be more than 10 games. "Single Player" is a BIG scope, so it depends on what you like, but the vid has good suggestions. Here's some good ones I'm on now if you want some more ideas: Jungle Survival - Green Hell Medieval Survival - Bellwright Space Survival - No Man Sky Apocalypse Survival - Fallout 4 Magic/Medieval life - Skyrim Big City life- Cyberpunk Cowboy life - Red Dead 2 Military Sim - ARMA 3 Naval Sim - UBOAT
I just finished Kingdom Come Deliverance with over a 100 hours of playtime. Highly recommend for any RPG lovers out there. If you're also a New Vegas fan like me and have been looking for RP games that allows you to come with multiple solutions for a problem, then this is one of those games. KCD is definitely in my top 5 RPG games and I can't recommend it enough for its immersion and storytelling.
Couldn't agree more, there needs to be more RPG's like KCD that don't hold your hand the entire time, let you figure things out in a creative way and, most importantly, fail quests and continue with the repercussions. THAT is how you get immersed and invested in a game
@@robertrichard2322 Yeah totally....I had these lebo's last week that just didn't respond to common sense so what choice did I have but to put out good ole' 'Rusty'!!
Bannerlord is such a power trip, it awakens something dormant in your DNA as you start alone from nothing to raising armies and gradually conquering the lands you walk upon, there’s nothing quite like it.
@@albo2711 Absolutely. Warband isn't graphically demanding at all, and is infamous for being an addictive time sink. The mods are where it truly shines, though; You want a fantasy world? You've got it. You want sengoku Japan? Got it. Rome? Got it. Star Wars? Lord of The Rings? Warhammer? It's all there in the steam workshop.
"Mad Max" from 2015 doesn't get much appreciation, but I really enjoyed it. Cruising around the open world looking for treasure, vehicle upgrades, challenging marauder strongholds, gathering loot, with a very good if not tragic main story line, it was very cool. Surprised so many people didn't like it, one of the most underappreciated games ever.
Agreed! I enjoyed driving in Mad Max more than any car racing game I've ever played. I also loved the combat and the mistery element of the game. Sound effects are pretty awesome too.
I think because it was kind of repetitive but what game isn’t to some extent if we’re being honest. I never finished the game but I enjoyed it and watched the ending to it.
Never see wasteland 3 get too much love, amazing game all around imo, especially if you're a fan of the older style turn based combat or the original fallouts
Kingdom Come Deliverance was possibly the best "on a whim"/random game purchase I think I've ever made. It was such a steep learning curve but I'm so glad I found it cause it was everything I wanted in a medieval setting game for an rpg. Can't recommend it enough, especially if you're a fairly die hard survival fan cause it's a really good bridge into an RPG game but with very extensive and fun survival elements.
I really liked KCD, but that monastery questline just has to be one of the worst questlines I've seen in years. It took me 3-4 days to make myself complete it.
Currently going through Ghosts of Tsushima, I didn't realize how massive and long the story was until I completed Act 1. Quickly rising in my favorites list
Finished it quite some time ago, but remember feeling the same way once I finished Act 1. Was like, "Wait, didn't I just beat the game?" Oh no. I was nowhere near over.
i couldn't bring myself to play any more assassin creed games after having finished Ghost of Tsushima. Like AC literally makes me feel a little bit sick, and I used to be a fanboy. Ghost of Tsushima is that good.
I put in around 75 hours in KCD and thoroughly enjoyed everything in it. People need to try this. It just has a different feel to it unlike other medieval theme games
I played through KCD last year and these are my thoughts. Kingdom Come Deliverance 4/10 Kingdom Come Deliverance is a hard game to review because it presents itself as such a mixed bag. The game truly has so much potential, but it has so many drawbacks that consistently ruined my experience. When it shines KCD presented a fantastic novel worthy story, interesting characters, and fantastic depth while simultaneously plagued from frequent bugs, horrendous combat, and general unpolish at every turn. The game plays like a medieval sim with an emphasis on realism and survival. The systems and RPG elements of the game are innovative and really cool. I loved details like my character learning to read, ride a horse, and more. I played as a high charisma character and was able to talk myself out of most combat encounters or skip quests entirely, which was super rewarding to see the game respond in such a manner. The perk and leveling system also shines too with a plethora of intersting buff and debuffs. The RPG systems are fully developed and are frankly one of the reasons I kept playing. Bar none the best part of KCD is the quests. The game has a gritty but charming personality. The dialoge and humor kept me engaged in a way that doesn't often happen tok. The game is full of unique but believable characters too. I find my self torn in writing this review however, because while KCD has one of the best narrarive I've ever played it also has some of the worst gameplay for any modern RPG. The gameplay itself is slow, monotonous, and glitchy as hell. Looting, notoriety, crafting, item maintenance, etc. are all terrible. Beyond the dull gameplay KCD is also plagued by a plethora of glitches and awful combat. When the game released in 2018 was infamous for its glitches. In 2022 so many of these still remain. Many times over I lost 30+ minutes of gameplay due to bugs or crashes. One of the contributing problems is a needlessly restricive quick save system. You have to pay IN-GAME currency (about 130 gold) to quick save, which is ridiculous when completing a mission may offer 300-600 gold. If you quick save to protect from glitches, then you'll frequently eat into your profit. If you dont quick save, you'll repeat hours of gameplay due to the numerous and frequent bugs. This system is made worse by the numerous game crashes, collision glitches, and failed missions due to nonsensical AI. I estimate I had to reload saves 15-20 times due to glitches, sometimes costing me more than an hour's worth of time. It happened multiple times each session. Another problem I have with KCD is the combat. The combat is TERRIBLE. Absolute trash. I don't think I've ever played a game with worse combat - including titles like Daggerfall (1997) or Zelda 2 (1987). It's needlessly complicated, ineffective, random, and (once again) glitchy as heck. From the first fight until the final duel I dreaded combat encounters. I spent most of my time "cheeseing" rather than fighting. As I played, I wanted to like KCD but also found myself growing increasingly more annoyed by its shortcomings. I'm conflicted to rate a game with such a great campaign so low, but I can't excuse giving it anything higher because of the drawbacks. At first I tried to turn a blind eye to the problems, but by the end of the campaign I was rushing to finish the narrative praying that I wouldn't have to draw my sword on anyone or be bogged down by glitches. KCD has so much potential but in the end it was only a let down. 4/10
Oh my beloved Kingdom come Deliverance.. I still open it from time to time, simply to go for a stroll in the forest, looking for cute houses I'd picture myself living haha. Reading books by a campfire is also lovely to do. Obviously I like a lot of this in real life as well. But doing it in medieval times.. fantastic!
i love seeing larian studios get the attention they deserve, divinity original sin 2 is by far my favorite game. i haven't gotten the chance to play baldurs gate 3 yet but i will definetely play that soon
Stardew Valley would be a good addition to the list for those players who aren’t looking for heavy combat and graphics-heavy gaming. And it’s available on almost every portable gaming device and smartphone, so it’s great for those who travel or game on-the-go.
@@joshmartin2744Octopath Traveler 2's not even on the list! How can you miss the RPG where the quality turn-based combat is as long or short as you'd like it to be?!
Played almost all of these games and absolutely agree. I would probably also have added Red Dead Redemption 2, Fallout 4 and Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous to the list for good measure.
Persona 5 Royal is the only game I've ever spent 150 hours only for the main story and after that I wanted to start all over again. That game truly is a unique experience
I honestly feel the same way about 4 as well, might start feeling that way about 3 when I finally play it properly, I just kinda wore myself out by playing 4, 5 Royal and Strikers within the span of 3 or 4 weeks. 4 took me 130h to get every achievement etc, Royal I played twice within 190h (first run took like 140h of that) and Strikers took me around 50h.
Middle-earth: Shadow of War 2017 is definitely one of the most underated single player games, it is one of my favourites for sure, if you want a long immersive game and haven't heard of it I definitely recommend trying it you will definitely won't regret it
Kingdom Come Deliverance is so underrated I really can't believe how good it is especially considering the very small development team behind it. Every serious RPG fan should play it, you won't regret it.
Daniel Vavra, who is behind it also made the first two Mafia games. And in terms of narrative, those two games are still to this day the very best Mobster video games.
Agreed. The Yakuza series is my favorite and all the games come packed with an insane amount of things to do. Yakuza 0, 5 and 7 could easily give a 100+ hrs of playtime.
Kingdoms of Amalour, Fallout, Red Dead Redemption, Persona 5 Royal, Final Fantasy 16 easily fits this criteria. Great single player games that you could sink 100+ hrs into.
@@laughydawg9594 is it a very dull game, none of the characters are memorable, only the combat is good but still the time slow thing and the potions destroy it
I remember asking my dad to buy me that way back, but I ended up not playing all the way through sadly, and now the remaster exists, so maybe I'll buy that and play, or I'll just install the original and play.
Games that i have played recently where i have spend tons of hours: - Around or more than 100 hours: Far Cry 6, Horizon Zero Dawn - Around or more than 200 hours: Red Dead Redemption 2, Assassin´s Creed: Valhalla - Around or more than 500 hours: Europa Universalis IV
Cannot praise Kingdom Come enough, even while it has it's technical issues at times. It does a tremendous job immersing you in the world with it's mechanics and story while providing a enjoyable challenge curve that is very rewarding.
Just started Dragon's Dogma a few days ago and it's so satisfying and beautiful. Combat is unforgiving but the characters, art design, premise, and grindability are so addicting.
Glad to see that mount and blade is getting some love. It is a strange and hard game at the beginning but once you start building your army and fighting bigger battles it becomes something very special. The sound of charging down the battlefield with your cavalery behind you, the twang of bowstrings, the hard thuds of weapon hitting shield… and it is not just he battles. You help village’s, rule settlements, negotiate, influence your kingdoms politics, make friends,…
The game is ruined by the TaleWorlds. I love games where I get an update every 3 months that consists of "Patched Obscure bug" and "Added 1 additional map" without providing any real depth to the game. Such a downgrade from the original title, a shame that it requires mods to make the game semi-enjoyable after your first play through.
@@Lewis-ec5snI believe that they have chosen a path which includes making the game’s systems stupidier in order to make it playable for consoles. I am not a supporter for that idea of course, but it seems to me that this was what they intented. Not having the core mechanics even its predecessor has, can not be answered using any other explanation than this.
bloodborne will go down in history as one of my favorite games ever, the gameplay, the gothic environment, its a souls like game but also its own beast, its truly amazing. for those that play dark souls games you know bloodborne feels completely different (mainly due to the quick sidestep dodge, but other things as well) in a good way!
Skyrim is obviously a very well-known game. But I think it definitely deserves a spot on this list. It's definitely legend tier for me. You can easily spend 100+ hours playing just vanilla. With mods you can play it for years.
Gotta mention Morrowind. I know it's hard to get into for a lot of people, because it's a little janky in the early game, but it's honestly one of the best stories ever told in a fantasy setting. Some people hate the lack of quest markers, but I love it, it really encourages exploration and discovery, and even now, with more than five thousand hours invested, I'm still discovering new stuff. It also has one of the most active modding communities out there - there's always a new mod to check out. Hell, I'M working on a mod for it. It's got an awesome story, memorable characters, an incredible world, great music, and is just a delight to immerse yourself in.
I strongly second this. If you find the combat and movement system lacking, run to Balmora and get urself the upgrade spell and then go craft urself a special spell. Soul trap plus upgrade skill. Distance 0. Magnitude 1. Start with luck. Makes it possible to actually do things like actually cast the spell or hit something when you swing.
Still playing a fully modded copy with around 500 mods. I could play Morrowind till the end of time. I can literally find 200-300 great new mods every year to completely change it all for another run. You can do a mod pack now with all the modern UI features, interface, and upscaled graphics, and then add you own favorite mods on top.
Red Dead Redemption 2, Ghost of Tsushima, both nier titles. I could go on but there is nothing like an amazing single experience to hold someone over for years and years. Great list!
Currently working my way through Ghost of Tsushima for the second time on hard difficulty. That definitely deserves a spot on this list. Its like classic AC meets the Witcher 3 with way better combat and set in Japan, I mean what more do you want ⚔️
#11 Mass Effect trilogy. I really have strong bias for ME3, because before it came out my dad died in 2010, and when this game came out it was at the right time for me and it helped me go through rough time because of my dad dying. One of the main themes constantly repeated in ME3 is HOPE and going against all odds. You will hear this from Shepard, Garrus, Anderson, Javik, Vega, heck even Joker and EDI. Also going back at it, 3rd game is actually helluva lot better written and structured then ME2. ME2 had cool side ("loyalty") missions, but when you take it out, main story is very flat and somewhat weak, alto at the time this game was such huge technical improvement over first game.
I just bought the Mass effect legendary edition the other day! Never got to play those games except for I played maybe an hour of Mass effect 2 back on my Xbox 360 when I was a kid but now I have the whole trilogy I'm going to get to play soon🙂

Wish I could do that. Given the game many chances but I sadly find it too boring. No skills to progress, no real progression other than story or completionist stuff. Also, exploring is boring as there is no interesting loot to be found.@@reedified6514
I'm currently playing Witcher 3 and have 78Hrs atm. I still haven't found Ciri because I'm busy doing Seconday Quests and I love it. The lore and storytelling is amazing. Some of them have subplots which is just cherry on top.
I've got 151 hours in Witcher 3. That's with all the DLC played through. There are bound to be side quests I've not discovered. And I've definitely not explored every marker and point of interest on the maps.
Sports, racing sims are also great for single players. PES Master League mode is pure fun for me. Old Gran Turismo campaigns are also good. Replayability is huge. Borderlands 2 solo was good but you can play with friends in split screen too.
Mass Effect original trilogy is a must for me, I do not know how much time I spent completing these games, but it sure was a good chunk of my life hahaha
Assassin's Creed Odyssey took me about 80 hours to beat on my first playthrough. The dlcs took me about 60 hours. Finished the whole thing again within 110 hours on my 2nd run. Even then, there is so much to do in Odyssey. Plus, the map is beautiful. It's very long, with most of it consiting of the ocean. Even in land, it's so much to explore.
That game is highly underrated 😭 I don't know why the community bashes on it. But really it's a masterpiece. Especially if you like Greek Mythology. In my opinion it could be the best written AC game...but that's just my opinion...I know people will say Black Flag or AC 2
@KStyles101 I personally don't like comparing the open world to the more linear open world generations of AC. Linear its AC2 (or just ezios story line) and open world is Odyssey. Odyssey is better than orgins and Valhalla. Black Flag is the best pirate game ever
I'm currently 140 hours in and no end in sight with Odyssey. I'm an old (retired) fella and I'm certainly not doing anything logically or in a sensible order. I can imagine being 300 hours in from sailing instead of fast travelling. I think this and Origins are fantastic games. I've not played Valhalla but I will, despite the grim warnings.
I disagree. The city is a shell and I never felt like a citizen of night city. Side by side with the witcher 2077 is a travesty (this is just my opinion)
KC:D was a sleeper hit for me. The immersion was in a class by itself. If this game looks good and you haven’t tried it, I don’t think you’d regret giving it a shot.
Shadow of Mordor/War. Those are games that I love going back to and with the DLCs and different in-game challenges, I always love going back to those games. Mass Effect Trilogy, probably my favorite series. Going back and replaying as the opposite Renegade/Paragon or a different class (Vanguard is my favorite, but I've grown to like Engineer and am currently using it on my Insanity run). Cyberpunk 2077, there's so much to do in this game. Also to mention, simulation games like Sims, Sim City (my favorite is Societies), Roller Coaster Tycoon (or the modern equivalent), Stardew Valley, Minecraft, etc.
@@NgenHD1234yea cyberpunk is just eye candy, it's an amazing game but it's so short then after completing all the missions there wasn't any reason to explore the world besides driving around night city
Fun fact : if you run sentinel, max your armor ability and run the extra ability of fortification, you can get 90% damage reduction. I used this to do a melee / shotgun run of the game. Quite fun.
Fantastic series, particularly ME1 & 2. ME3 had great moments but I wasn’t a fan of some of the writing in that game, particularly how the Illusive Man went from being a nuanced, complex character in the previous game to a more one-dimensional “evil” antagonist in ME3.
For all the criticism the ending got. I doubt we will ever get a trilogy like it again whereby your choices carry across into the next game. A great cast of companions that you can build relationships with over multiple games. You can miss out on entire quest lines entirely either by accident, or by your own decisions. You can lose beloved characters through a miscalculation and ultimately you feel responsible. I will always love the ME trilogy for these reasons.
So happy to see Kingdom Come in the list, it may not be so replayable, but the game is a true masterpiece and a true medieval simulator (especially on highest difficulty)
Id just like to add Ghost of Tsushima as well. Huge open world and the game doesnt hold your hand, you gotta find stuff yourself similar to Elden Ring. The story, characters, graphics are so good. The combat and stealth is fun and consistent while still being tricky to master. If you havent already, it's a must play game.
I go back to DA Inquisition over and over again. It was my first real RPG experience and I’m addicted to my choices mattering and influencing the world around me. ❤
I got Inquisition just to see what the fuss was about. I didn't realize after 50 hours in, I was drawn to the mechanics of an RPG and the beauty of a story it could bring and draw you in as it was of your choice making. Almost 200 hours in that game, I was glad I took a chance to it as it's a top ten game played for me.
@@Bo0mShakkaLakka Inquisition was terrible upon release and is still terrible to this day while comparing it to the dev's past works. Every single review that is positive of this game doesn't mention BioWare's legacy and it's painfully obvious as to why.
I put in over 100 hours playing Dying Light and the DLC The Following. I really liked the game and did practically everything that there was to do in the game.
Love Dying Light - must have about 100 hours or near on Steam... love the high risk but I remember somebody joined in coop and gave me some OP weapon which kind of ruined it at the time haha
Baldur's Gate 3 is truly insane when it comes down to the amount of things to do/discover and the many ways on how you can solve quests. I've played around 60 hours by now and I only just started Act III and I feel like the exploration has only just begun. There are só many things to do and I haven't even done everything in Acts I and II yet. I already have a few other characters lined up to start a new playthrough and go about things differently so this game is certainly going to take up a huge chunk of my free time 😄
sounds like a speed run, took me 50 to complete act1! up to 90 and still in act 2 and haven't even got to the tower yet. can't wait to play it again but i'm determined to finish 1 play through first.

I’m still yet to find an RPG that i fell in love with as much as Witcher 3, may be my favorite game of all time 😀 Also, Ghost of Tsushima should definitely be on this list! One of the best games I’ve played in the last couple years!
Ghost of Tsushima was fantastic but short even with the DLC, easy to complete as well but you're right u could spent at least 100 hrs but more then that it's unlikely
When I played witcher 3 when I was in college. I have completed this game 3 times. 1 time without dlc and 2 times with both the DLCs. I must be having over 500 hours on this game. This game will always be one my favourite RPGs of all time. Definitely in top 10 best games.
How do you enjoy it? The boring side quests, exploring is because you wanna find cool things to help your journey as you progress but then you fine a sword you have to wait to some certain level to be able to use it even the armor hours of grinding but you can’t wear it yet and the talking is just too much that it makes you bored and they make the player interact way too much in dialogue and you have to keeping questioning and they just talk and talk and talk due I wanna play game not watch a damn cutscene how do you finish the game 5 times? Wow I can’t finish the first play through the only thing I enjoy is battle of kaer moern and his skills move is the same
Borderlands 2, and Path of Exile are both really good ones to play solo as well. Currently spent about 1100+ hours combined in them. Really good list you got going there.
The Mass Effect series and Fallout 3 are ones that stand out for me. Also, AC Odyssey. Loved those games and sank hours into them. Also, GTAV is still worth it for the single player alone.
@@rickydiamond441 yes he was! I enjoyed both as well but man gta 4 really did a great job making you feel the transition from broke nobody to stone cold rich killing machine

A1 video, gonna pick up a few of these titles man. As I get older, single player open world games are calling my attention instead of the Multiplayer/Battle Royal shooter games that I grew up playing.
Glad they mentioned the borderlands series. Recently have been playing borderlands 3 again after beating the main campaign a couple years ago. Back then didn’t know how the mayhem system worked but now with some friends I’ve been doing things like playing through the dlcs, farming weapons at the highest mayhem level, and fighting raid bosses. One of those games that’s fun to play either by yourself or with others (even with the cheesy story). Didn’t expect to have over 100 hours in it but here we are 🤷🏾♂️
This will probably be an unpopular opinion, but I’d say AC: Valhalla. That game is not a great “assassin’s creed” game, but it’s a fantastic “Viking role play” game. The combat is amazing, and if you put 100 hours in, it only gets more and more deep.
Black Flag is another one that still holds up to this day. Wish it would get a Remaster with next gen graphics. Very solid pirate gameplay and I could easily spend hours sailing the seas, raiding ships, and searching every last nook and cranny of the map while my crew sings shanties.
I will never understand how one can choose Inquisition over Origins. Other than that, a great list of 100+ hours single player games. I would personally ad Monster hunter world though. It's mainly advertised as an online co op game but playing through it in single player is actually a great experience.
I DONT think thats the general consensus BUT lets be objective INQUISTION with all the DLC is an 8.5 game though ORIGINS in my book is 9.7 probably the best game I have ever played.
Origins is the better game, but Inquisition also brings stuff to the table along with still looking good. As long as we all agree there are only 2 Dragon Age games, there is nothing between Origins and Inquisition.
Dragon Age Inquisition is an amazing game. I bought it in a sale a few Christmas’ ago with all of the DLC as part of the deal. I spent around 2 weeks playing it non stop!
An amazing game is something that after a decade you still play but when you first step into it's world, you drown yourself in it's characters, mechanics, story & music for months. An amazing game gets the fans begging for sequels Playing a game for two weeks just doesn't qualify or every game every games journalist has ever played would be an "amazing" game
I picked up Dragon’s Dogma after watching this. Happened to be on sale for less than $7 on PlayStation store. Few hours in and I’m glad it tried it. Thanks for the recommendation
What makes Inquisition so great for me is not only the memorable characters and great writing, but also the whole setting of being a leader of an army that over the course of the game becomes one of the most powerful armies in the game world. To the point where in the Tresspasser DLC one plot point is Orlais wants the Inquisition to dispand.
One that I feel is heavily underrated is Kindom of Amalur: Re-reckoning. I put easily over a hundred hours when it originally came out on the 360 then when it got remastered I bought it immediately and am still playing through it
yes!! this has been my favourite game for a long time now, I started playing it maybe like 8 years ago? I never played the remastered version, but the original game was enough for me to put a couple hundred hours in
Middle Earth shadow of mordor. Truly underrated. I have so much fun and can't get enough of it. The game the graphics the controls everything's perfect.
Oblivion and Skyrim are still popular today for being a good open world single player RPG. worth it tbh, the modding community is still active for both games too. If you're planning to play vanilla (without mods), it still looks nice. I recommend finishing Morrowind, then finish Oblivion, then after that Skyrim for the last.
I could never get into Morrowind but I have played Daggerfall n like it more than Morrowind idk they are both hard to start but I think Daggerfall is jus more interesting to me and has that really old school game charm that Ive never really experienced before...
it was pretty rancid that they didnt put skyrim as the crowning jewel of this video and they chose bloody tears of the kingdom? honestly nintendo fans are totally brainwashed. hell i used to be one until the wii u.
Dude totally agree. But I’d say play Skyrim first then oblivion and morrowind as it takes some dedication to get into the old style version of the predecessors.
I put 110 hours into ToTK and I still have a lot left I can do. I finished the story and did a lot of stuff I wanted but not everything. Truly a special game and amazing experience that I won't forget.
kingdoms of amalur is an oldie but goodie. fun combat system, freedom to mix-up and revise your skill/level choices makes it so you can just mess around with different builds without creating a whole new character
One thing to note: Play one of these games as a blind playthrough. Going through a game not knowing anything really brings back that fun of having to learn something on your own or not knowing where the story is going
Wow, this is an incredible list, thanks for putting it out here. I’d love to see Gates of Pyre develop a single-player mode, even though it’s an RTS. The storyline is fantastic, and I’m really drawn to the unique roles each character plays.
Definitely recommending Dying Light for this list. While the main quest can be easily done in a few hours, grinding for better gears and leveling up really takes a long while, and it doesn't get boring too fast, 'cuz duh. Parkour and zombie head bashing goes extremely well together. Sometimes, I even surprise myself about new areas that I haven't explored since I'm way too preoccupied at just going from point A to point B and that exploring Harran just feels... Well, refreshing, to say the least. There's also the multiplayer mode, once you get too bored doing things alone.
I bought this recently. Dying Light The Following Edition. I can't get passed the first night time mission and I'm on easy mode. Those night zombies get me every time.
medieval dynasty is a great game, its not story driven its all about building up your medieval town from nothing and the combat is decent too but it is all about building up your city, collecting villagers, gathering resources and crafting. really good setting and atmosphere to it
Kingdom Come: Deliverance is SO good. I am very happy to see y'all put it right before The Witcher 3. KCD deserves a spot on this list, especially considering the budget and effort involved in making this game. An absolute masterpiece imo.
Just finished the main story of Kingdom Come Deliverance, and I've already dumped 97 hours into the game. I did spend maybe 10 of those hours screwing around with the Lost in the Woods DLC but man, if I did all the DLCs all the way through I'd probably be getting to 150-200 hours of gameplay in this game. Having family roots in Old Bohemia, this game is especially special to me.
I know it's not this channels type of game but Football Manager is worth a shout. The depth in these games are so good that you can spend 100+ hours and feel that you're still just scrapping the surface of them.
As someone with 5k hours into Bannerlord, you're just scratching the surface after 100 hours! I was complete garbage at the game for like 500 hours lol but it's such an amazing game. KCD is amazing as well. Good list!
Hello Strat! This is a surprise to be sure, but a welcome one. I'm 255 hours into Bannerlord and I have to say your videos saved that playthrough. I was going completely bankrupt, but eventually made it back to riches with your help :) eventually I'll get back to the game and when I do, I'm sure it'll be your videos that will ensure my triumph!
This whole list basically defines what the gaming industry should be. Complete products upon release, and no extra investment needed. I can tell Baldur's Gate 3 inspired this list without having watched this whole list yet.
My dad literally plays Bannerlord 😂. He absolutely loves that game and has probably a thousand or more hours in it. He’s in his mid 50s if you were curious
Dragons Dogma was a seriously awesome RPG. I had never played a game with so many mythical creatures. Also I had never played a game where you could actually climb monsters. It is a crazy cool game and can be difficult which also makes it awesome. Another great thing about it is you can borrow a partner from other players online called Pawns. Or you can borrow a pawn from someone on your friends list. Pawns aid you in future battles making it alot of fun. Dragons Dogma is in my top 10 favorite RPG games of all time that includes all the mmorpgs as well.
@@irecordwithaphone1856 bro comparing shadow of the colossus to DDDA over the climbing mechanic is entirely stupid. totally different games and DDDA as so much more to offer it's not like people love it over that one mechanic alone lmao
Nothing beats fallout for me! Especially on Series X with newer graphic and texture mods on, it looks and feels absolutely gorgeous!! literally like playing a new game
Good to see Borderlands in the bonus section. Got 85 hours in just Borderlands 2. The freedom in just solo rampaging through area's really just racks up hours upon hours of fun.
I have almost 1,200 hours in The Witcher 3. That game got me through a difficult time in my life, it'll always have a special place in my heart.
The beauclair and bank of sansretour are literally one of the best and most melodic themes I have ever heard. And I have listened to it 1000 times Over years. Never gets old.
Whenever I am in a bad time i listen to them to feel relaxed and it works so good. Legendary dlc.

Im so glad Kingdom Come Deliverance was included in this list its one of my favorite games of all time!
So glad they are making a second one
Crazy immersion, so many feels

For me a game that surprisingly kept me playing for so long was Middle-earth: Shadow of War. Recruiting orc captains, hunting down nemesis or pit fighting are so fun and addicting
Just started playing that game and man am I addicted! I already have 200 hours and I’ve been playing for 3 weeks 😅
Completely agree, awesome game
Yo, that was the shit. cultivating the right equiptment andd the right type of orc really take times but really enjoyable
It gets boring after awhile.
I'm happy that Kingdom Come Deliverance is in the list. I played it a few months ago and clocked 135 hours to almost do everything.
It's a great game, especially in its pure role-playing ability and the realness of it all. It's a slow game though, hence why it is very easy to spend 100 hours in it when you become engrossed in it.
I absolutely love the shit out of it to the point that I never finished the main quest and still got 232 hours on it!
One of the best aRPGs i have played, very underrated imo.
Screw that monastery quest though 😂

that game is massive, yet every side quest or random enconter felt unique and meaningful.
So true, usually i get tired of repeating the same mechanism used in side quests, witcher 3 is the only game where I looked forward to side quests because of its mysterious nature. You begin with a random investigation and have no idea how the story is gonna turn out. The DLCs was the best I've played in any game.

This needs to be more than 10 games. "Single Player" is a BIG scope, so it depends on what you like, but the vid has good suggestions. Here's some good ones I'm on now if you want some more ideas:
Jungle Survival - Green Hell
Medieval Survival - Bellwright
Space Survival - No Man Sky
Apocalypse Survival - Fallout 4
Magic/Medieval life - Skyrim
Big City life- Cyberpunk
Cowboy life - Red Dead 2
Military Sim - ARMA 3

Couldn't agree more, there needs to be more RPG's like KCD that don't hold your hand the entire time, let you figure things out in a creative way and, most importantly, fail quests and continue with the repercussions. THAT is how you get immersed and invested in a game

"Mad Max" from 2015 doesn't get much appreciation, but I really enjoyed it. Kingdom Come Deliverance was possibly the best "on a whim"/random game purchase I think I've ever made. It was such a steep learning curve but I'm so glad I found it cause it was everything I wanted in a medieval setting game for an rpg. There are medieval themed games and medieval games... And KCD is definitely a medieval game.
I played through KCD last year and these are my thoughts.
Kingdom Come Deliverance 4/10
Kingdom Come Deliverance is a hard game to review because it presents itself as such a mixed bag. 4/10
I'll give it another shot. I just couldn't get past the sword play, was super difficult. Maybe I didn't give it enough time.

Middle-earth: Shadow of War 2017 is definitely one of the most underated single player games, it is one of my favourites for sure, if you want a long immersive game and haven't heard of it I definitely recommend trying it you will definitely won't regret it
Great list!
Prophesy of Pendor was one of my favourites (a mod for Mount & Blade).
Probably put over a thousand hours into this! 😁

Ive heard and seen good things from both. Very good suggestions.
Agreed. The Yakuza series is my favorite and all the games come packed with an insane amount of things to do. Yakuza 0, 5 and 7 could easily give a 100+ hrs of playtime.

I remember asking my dad to buy me that way back, but I ended up not playing all the way through sadly, and now the remaster exists, so maybe I'll buy that and play, or I'll just install the original and play.

- Around or more than 100 hours: Far Cry 6, Horizon Zero Dawn

Cannot praise Kingdom Come enough, even while it has it's technical issues at times. It does a tremendous job immersing you in the world with it's mechanics and story while providing a enjoyable challenge curve that is very rewarding.
It was the absolute best game ever.
Most of the game-breaking issues have been worked out though. And I agree, most immersive game ever.

Skyrim is obviously a very well-known game. But I think it definitely deserves a spot on this list. It's definitely legend tier for me.
You can easily spend 100+ hours playing just vanilla. With mods you can play it for years.
I played vanilla for 10 years, each year i replay it once. 1000+ hours is more like it
Skyrim is junk. It's literally a shallow experience with assets reused over and over in a lifeless world.

@@arosonomyhonestly!
I played Morrowind when I was around 8 years old and it was the most mind blowing thing
I am for Oblivion. My sense of direction is too awful for Morrowind, so Let's plays FTW
Morrowind will hook you, it's incredible

Ghost Of Tsushima is only playable in Realistic, IMO. Hope you have fun on your second run through!!
My first platinum trophy was this beauty of a game. What a masterpiece.
Kingdom come: Deliverance is an amazing game. I got so hooked on it. It took me about 150 hours to beat it.
Mass effect was repetitive although the storyline was good
ME3 multi-player was underrated too

Sports, racing sims are also great for single players. PES Master League mode is pure fun for me. Old Gran Turismo campaigns are also good. Replayability is huge. Borderlands 2 solo was good but you can play with friends in split screen too.
Dead Cells is also good for 100s hour.
Who is playing sport on a computer? And why??
Great game easily spent over 100 hours.

Quite fun.
The Mass Effect Trilogy! Awesome story, really enjoyed them.
except the ending and some plotholes in the third game. but still i will never forget mass effect experience use it as a benchmark against new games.
Why not replayable? It has so many options

I enjoyed it. Spent 250 hours on it but all the raids & collectibles are a grind after a while. Haven't even tried Niflheim yet

I was going completely bankrupt, but eventually made it back to riches with your help :) eventually I'll get back to the game and when I do, I'm sure it'll be your videos that will ensure my triumph!
@@topiheimola69 nice, I'm happy to hear that!
You should try Shadow of the Colossus, it's pretty much entirely dedicated to climbing monsters. I'm also playing dragons dogma right now
@@irecordwithaphone1856 bro comparing shadow of the colossus to DDDA over the climbing mechanic is entirely stupid. totally different games and DDDA as so much more to offer it's not like people love it over that one mechanic alone lmao
you gonna play the sequel
@@ticomibe639 playing DD2 and its hard as hell and you have such low carry weight/carrying capacity
DD is bad , bad looting bad inventory bad pawn ai bad missions bad story bad bad bad only good thing is combat thats all
300 hours of Kingdom Come Deliverance here. 🎉 Trully unforgettable experience
Nothing beats fallout for me! Especially on Series X with newer graphic and texture mods on, it looks and feels absolutely gorgeous!! literally like playing a new game
Except the elder scrolls, they’re 1a, 1b for me personally 😂
The Mass Effect series is still worth a play if someone has never gone through it. A rare gem in the Sci Fi genre.
The Mass Effect Series being Mass Effect 1,2 and 3.
We don't talk about that other one.
Good to see Borderlands in the bonus section. Got 85 hours in just Borderlands 2.
The freedom in just solo rampaging through area's really just racks up hours upon hours of fun.
I sunk countless hours into Borderlands 2. Borderlands 3 is a great game but Borderlands 2 was magic.
I have THOUSANDS of hours each in BL 1 and 2......
