  • Previously exploring this area I came across a boulder with some very interesting ancient rock art on the top of it.
After thinking about it and looking at pictures I took and receiving some input from viewers, I began to wonder if the images carved into the rock were a map of the area. Some symbols meaning land features and another symbol indicating an area where dinosaur tracks are found.
The prehistoric community in the general area could have come across exposed dinosaur tracks and I have no doubt that if they did, it would have had a profound effect upon them. Think about it...
If you had no prior knowledge that giant reptiles had once inhabited the earth and you stumbled upon their fossilized prints in the stone...what exactly would you think?
Being hunters and familiar with tracking animals and following their tracks, trying to understand what could have left giant foot prints in the stone would have been mind blowing. There are hundreds of fossilized dinosaur prints in the general area.
    Who knows.
This was another exciting trip since I ended up finding more rock art that I had not seen before, all of it very old. An amazing area with history not just dating back thousands of years but millions!

Very interesting interpretation of the rock art map, especially when you point out the actual geological locations from you position on the boulder. I had never thought of the concentric circles representing elevations, but it makes sense, especially when compared to modern topographical maps. Also, I believe the squiggly lines represent creeks or creek beds. Well done amigo!

4:00 Aboriginal Australians paintings signify land and land features of the land they belong to. They paint maps in their art. I am very interested to see if you find any Dinosaur tracks in vertical sandstone faces. Which would tell us of geological uplift. I have seen rock carvings and Dinosaurs tracks in most unusual land angles and verging on vertical. Which lead me to think rock art on rock faces may have been horizontal at some time in distant past. ? 16:47. They’re the kind of places I would love to pitch camp and spend a week or so. Think I would be surprised what would be found.. 25:40 awesome. Places like these have such an amazing feeling , just seeing tracks connect time past to time present. Yes absolutely a map. I’m convinced..looking forward to your next.

The climate would have been very different when that dinosaur was walking the Earth. Think tropical rainforest and jungle. This area was also part of a vast island sea. This dinosaur may have been walking through shallow water with a muddy bottom. Amazing to see them still so clear, as if they were made a few years ago.

Once again, really good stuff. The pictos --the two anthros-- you came across appear to be Cave Valley Style in type, which would mean they'd have been produced during a mid or late Basketmaker phase in western Utah/eastern Nevada. The petros? who knows? but most likely date to the same general period. Well-reasoned interpretation of the 'map boulder' possibility as well. But again, who knows?

Wish I was there to witness that first hand like you. Utterly amazing finds! The bear paw was something different and new to see. Really liking the way you present and put things together for us. 😃👍🏻💯

It makes me wonder if the ancient people in that area thought those dinosaur tracks were made by giant turkeys. So much art out there.

Sure, why not. I'd imagine they would have had some pretty interesting theories regarding what made those prints in the stone!

When I was younger, I went out with my dad a lot looking at things like this. I resolved in my mind that the concentric circles mark water sources - springs. See if that fits any of your map scenarios.

If you do use the outcrops as a picture art, the lines straight off the circles is with the sun on the other side, could be a way of telling time

Awesome fossil, the imprint at one time baked in the sun and filled with a soft sand, lawyer over lawyer then washed away preserving the footsteps of the past.

The concentric circles you found are identical the the ones found in Ireland Scotland France Germany Italy Turkey Egypt it's the same symbol that archeologists look for when searching for evidence of Philistines in the holy land...

To bring it to some attention, the art works on the heaterd rocks, could be at times frome native females. Most likely the guards of vision were warriors in training. The sun always facing from behind a bluff will blind its threat! That's why most art is on rocks not looking into the sun. And warriors are usually are not going to chisel the hard work or basket making that people think is a round about circle. The twilight circle is the warriors dance that starts walking into the fire with all his kind entering behind him, Round and round a straight line curves with communications as animals for blood.

These petroglyphs took effort. They don't depict a normal, everyday occurrence like bird prints.

Did you consider that the mound in concentric circles is a burial mound?

    • @EnigmaClandestino
      @EnigmaClandestino  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

Thanks for watching! Anything is possible and that mound would certainly be a good spot for a burial site. I didn't notice any pits or depressions on the top of it suggesting that but I'm sure it was an important spot nonetheless.
