30:57 native people used Earth as insulation so the double walls not only protect from the heat but also invasion they surround their entire house with Earth cuz as you know when you dig down into the Earth it's cooler
Please listen to all the people who commented about not entering the rooms & putting things back exactly where you found them. There's so much amazing stuff & good info in your video. I know you must respect the importance of this site.
Please don't go inside one bump and the whole thing comes tumbling down just because you needed to go in. One of the supports that you were admiring was not extended all the way to the other wall and was precariously being held up by basically what now looks like a Jenga. I'm sure the wall was wider back in the day but it isn't now. All it would take is one bump and it would be all your fault so just don't do it. There's obviously evidence of past people there that have helped the structure a bit to survive. You're far from the first modern people there but don't be the ones that ruin it for everybody.
Lighten up! They're fine. But I do think they should have at least take off their backpacks before going in there. I hate it when bloggers won't go in there, missing a great opportunity to see what is in there.
Never go inside !! Put your selfie stick in ! Sorry but your breaking so many general rules of ancient sites ! Has it been looked at by scientists? That bone should of been put back where it was found ! A great change on your video s . But think no trace .

The thick wall....had to support a lot of weight. The "pass thru" window was for defense. Black ceiling,many many fires. And proof people lived there rather than using it for storage. Keep hiking around the canyons you will find hundreds or even thousands of ancient pueblo cliff dwellings. 500 to 1000 yrs old. Very fragile, treat with respect, do not enter, climb,lean,or touch, no food or drink that could attract rodents, and thats also one reason you shouldnt camp too close.
I would guess that the Tribe was trying to reinforce the roof after a partial collapse of the wall. Probably from some trespassing jack wagon who was crawling around inside it that caused it to collapse.
That hole is an air vent. Just next time you find anything it's good to always put it back where you find it. Also, not stepping on the walls will keep them from falling down and others can enjoy.😊
I’m pretty sure that’s Tribal land and I believe you need Tribal permission to go to one of these sites and they probably won’t let you go in them. If not then your trespassing, I wouldn’t let the tribal police see your video or you could be in some serious trouble. Plus stay out of them! They aren’t a jungle Jim for you to tear up. Look with your eyes and not your hands and feet.
@@01Lendathere's 22 different tribes, all with tribal land ownership/treaties. So, do some research for the area they're in and you can answer your own question.
There are thousands of miles of country side it belongs to all who are wanting to learn the past and or enjoy places that are away from people just to be alone and get away. You need to worry more about mining companies going in don't you think
This site is not possible to find on Google Earth as 3D Satelite view does not work in remote locations and does not work at this site, it is just a black shadow. Also, this is a well known site with a maintained trail leading to it. Multiple people had done videos on this ruin.
You're not supposed to enter ancient ruins. Or touch artifacts. Don't be selfish. Some day all of these sights will be gone because of TH-cam adventurers. Sad!

Wow, you guys are lucky to explore that ruin. We just saw all the different ruin locations of Wupatki National Monument. My hubs hiked to the petroglyphs at Devils Bridge... both in AZ. We also visited and toured Tuzigoot and Montezuma Castle and Well. Saw your video on Tuzigoot too! We are heading to the Grand Canyon to take our grandson for the first time. Safe travels!

Interesting. A few things noticeable: The ruin does not look so interesting, but what you see in the distance. What you see in the distance should be researched. The visible (metal) support under the wood beams is remarkable. It looks like a gold seeker hut, not really interesting. Look at the gigantic buildings, everywhere around, in the distance; isn't that overwhelming? Giant buildings; mountains are buildings :-)
Im wondering how level they made those beams, as it seems pretty straight on the eyes. Also the fact that they placed small pebbles in between wood and rock to level it really makes me wonder if they knew how to level things
Now this site looks burned out. I know they season the ceiling boards. But some of those structures look heat melted and blasted out with dynamite. They had to hide their children and their scalps were worth over a months wages. There's definitely fire damage. Maybe they rebuilt after a major fire? Love your videos. 24:20 looks like someone installed a brace to hold up the structure. I don't think the ancient people had thing's like that. Very kool. But still very out of place for that structure.

Well it's pretty cool they did but back then I don't think they had Home Depot to buy little support system you know hold your your beams up in your roof so yeah there's a main support in their modern one that said the little height you were in for the Indians and that little support being that they put in their takes four bolts it needs to have screws and bolts back in

I’m so confused by talking about the indigenous people who built the cliff dwellings as it being a legend. It’s not a legend. It’s a fact. The legend is a story from the past not yet proven to be true. I’m just curious whether or not they believe the structures are ancient or they in doubt.

That was so much fun. They built their roofs very similar to the ancient Hebrews. I believe the tall outer wall may have added insulation from the wind and driving monsoon rains to protect mortar on the inner support walls. Also makes the ruin look larger than it was so would give the appearance of a larger group. I think they were smaller people and quite adept at navigating the rock walls compared to us. They most likely collected rain water for daily use and to make the mortar. The climate would have been a bit wetter hundreds of years ago. At the beginning that one area the was a nook in the rock that was blackened inside was probably a smoke house and an area to dry the corn and possibly even a cooking area. The roof logs being black. If you peel the bark then burn the outside of the log it preserves it from rotting. I would so love to do some hikes like that but would be stuck as my knees cannot handle going down slope for extended periods of time. So I love how well done your videos are. I live in Arizona north of Prescott. So many places to go see.
It is it's protecting your little homes and also it's a good Lookout when they stand on they can see what you see right now they can see the whole day out of the place and then they can see their enemies coming they can also see when the Wagon train goes through goes through

The entire complex you went thru was for food storage and items to make food.
Please don't go inside one bump and the whole thing comes tumbling down just because you needed to go in. One of the supports that you were admiring was not extended all the way to the other wall and was precariously being held up by basically what now looks like a Jenga. I'm sure the wall was wider back in the day but it isn't now. All it would take is one bump and it would be all your fault so just don't do it. There's obviously evidence of past people there that have helped the structure a bit to survive. You're far from the first modern people there but don't be the ones that ruin it for everybody.
Lighten up! They're fine. But I do think they should have at least take off their backpacks before going in there. I hate it when bloggers won't go in there, missing a great opportunity to see what is in there.

There have been tons of people checking those ruins out over the last thousand years.
The thick wall....had to support a lot of weight. The "pass thru" window was for defense. Black ceiling,many many fires. And proof people lived there rather than using it for storage. Keep hiking around the canyons you will find hundreds or even thousands of ancient pueblo cliff dwellings. 500 to 1000 yrs old. Very fragile, treat with respect, do not enter, climb,lean,or touch, no food or drink that could attract rodents, and thats also one reason you shouldnt camp too close.
I was not expecting to see a jack at 25:09 helping to support the roof
I would guess that the Tribe was trying to reinforce the roof after a partial collapse of the wall. Probably from some trespassing jack wagon who was crawling around inside it that caused it to collapse.
I was hoping I wasn’t the only one who saw that.

That hole is an air vent. Just next time you find anything it's good to always put it back where you find it. Also, not stepping on the walls will keep them from falling down and others can enjoy.😊

I’m pretty sure that’s Tribal land and I believe you need Tribal permission to go to one of these sites and they probably won’t let you go in them. If not then your trespassing, I wouldn’t let the tribal police see your video or you could be in some serious trouble. Plus stay out of them! They aren’t a jungle Jim for you to tear up. Look with your eyes and not your hands and feet.

There are thousands of miles of country side it belongs to all who are wanting to learn the past and or enjoy places that are away from people just to be alone and get away. You need to worry more about mining companies going in don't you think
It's not on tribal land. It's on the Prescott National Forest and is a well known site open to the public near Perkinsville.
Desert Drifter and The Trek Planner have knowledge of the history of the ancients living in the area during that time period.
This site is not possible to find on Google Earth as 3D Satelite view does not work in remote locations and does not work at this site, it is just a black shadow. Also, this is a well known site with a maintained trail leading to it. Multiple people had done videos on this ruin.
You're not supposed to enter ancient ruins. Or touch artifacts. Don't be selfish. Some day all of these sights will be gone because of TH-cam adventurers. Sad!

Wow, you guys are lucky to explore that ruin. We just saw all the different ruin locations of Wupatki National Monument. My hubs hiked to the petroglyphs at Devils Bridge... both in AZ. We also visited and toured Tuzigoot and Montezuma Castle and Well. Saw your video on Tuzigoot too! We are heading to the Grand Canyon to take our grandson for the first time. Safe travels!

Interesting. A few things noticeable: The ruin does not look so interesting, but what you see in the distance. What you see in the distance should be researched. The visible (metal) support under the wood beams is remarkable. It looks like a gold seeker hut, not really interesting. Look at the gigantic buildings, everywhere around, in the distance; isn't that overwhelming? Giant buildings; mountains are buildings :-)
Im wondering how level they made those beams, as it seems pretty straight on the eyes. Also the fact that they placed small pebbles in between wood and rock to level it really makes me wonder if they knew how to level things

Less than 5 percent of the old ruins have been studied. Several new sites are discovered every year . Most are a 2 plus day hike no roads close .
So cool they had amazing views to wake up to! Wish I cold live like that no money just living
You walked thru a grain storage area . They were large .
Now this site looks burned out. I know they season the ceiling boards. But some of those structures look heat melted and blasted out with dynamite. They had to hide their children and their scalps were worth over a months wages. There's definitely fire damage. Maybe they rebuilt after a major fire? Love your videos. I'm so h I found your videos. This is something I used to love to do. Just go around exploring. Sometimes you really lose more than you think when it comes to divorce. I'm not bitter just sad for all I lost.
24:20 looks like someone installed a brace to hold up the structure. I don't think the ancient people had thing's like that. Very kool. But still very out of place for that structure.
It was placed there many years ago by the forest service to help stabilize the structure. It is a very popular and often visited ruin.

Well it's pretty cool they did but back then I don't think they had Home Depot to buy little support system you know hold your your beams up in your roof so yeah there's a main support in their modern one that said the little height you were in for the Indians and that little support being that they put in their takes four bolts it needs to have screws and bolts back in

That was so much fun. They built their roofs very similar to the ancient Hebrews. I believe the tall outer wall may have added insulation from the wind and driving monsoon rains to protect mortar on the inner support walls. Also makes the ruin look larger than it was so would give the appearance of a larger group. I think they were smaller people and quite adept at navigating the rock walls compared to us.
They most likely collected rain water for daily use and to make the mortar. The climate would have been a bit wetter hundreds of years ago. At the beginning that one area the was a nook in the rock that was blackened inside was probably a smoke house and an area to dry the corn and possibly even a cooking area. The roof logs being black. If you peel the bark then burn the outside of the log it preserves it from rotting. I would so love to do some hikes like that but would be stuck as my knees cannot handle going down slope for extended periods of time. So I love how well done your videos are. I live in Arizona north of Prescott. So many places to go see.

I'm no expert. It looks to me that it was an community room. Thick walls and Elevation is how I would build my home at that time. It's like ac to them at that time
