I painted some silicon grease on the rubber joints of my hot toys Robocop with mechanical chair and ED-209 to protect them from decay. After all this time they're still in perfect shape.
Nice to see a new review on this set. From one of my favorite movies. The original Robocop figures can all be found at discounted prices around HK and China so goes to show HT has love for markets outside those territories as well. Hope they continue this trend
@@JustinsCollection Sweet, thanks for the info. I'll have to track down a headsculpt from this figure. Never been too big of a fan of battle damaged figures (to me its like buying a model of a crashed car), but this sculpt will look great on the original release.
It scares me the fact that the director of the original Robocop movie is the same man who directed Hollow Man, the movie I regret watching as a 5 year old kid because I had an extreme fear of human anatomy. That movie also made actor Kevin Bacon my childhood nightmare (although I heard he's a humble man in reality, so that's good).
@JustinsCollection , the title character (Sebastian Caine/Hollow Man) gave me nightmares and he's the most horrid character I saw as a child. When he's invisible, he wears a skin-colored mask that matches his human face but it has skeleton eyeholes, which make it look creepy. Plus, there are times where he does turn visible and I can see things like his skeletal system, his muscular system, and other body systems just walking around. It was truly unsettling for me and I even dreamt of getting chased and attacked by him more than a few times (and at one point, I dreamt of a Hollow Man video game that was pixelated and it even shows the title character chasing you while showing his human anatomy depending on the damage he gets; the soundtrack of the video game was creepy as well).
I'll buy that for a dollar!! Actually it cost me about 300 ! I was waitng for this review Justin!! Awesome! This one was released in 2015, just 4 years ago, I got it a couple of months ago, I think it is one of the many PERFECT figures Hot Toys made, I haven't got a thing to complain or nitpick about. One thing I expected to see was a comparison with the ED-209 that you got recently!
Wow! This pack is amazing! The only downside is that we don’t get a helmet Robocop headsculpt... BUT if it’s put side by side with the Diecast one (and the Alex Murphy) it all make sense and turn into a GREAT display! Cheers
Plus you can do a headswap with the helmet head of the diecast Robocop... I did that with mine when I got the diecast Robocop recently... Great display option!
The one thing that no toy company can get right concerning battle damaged Robocop is his left knee. In the movie (I'm certain not when he fights Ed-209, but when the police shoot at him) he looses his left knee (kind of looks like a fork)
I’m hard pressed to think of a better headsculpt than that bd robo, some of their older stuff can’t be beaten. I nearly picked up wolf predator, based on his headsculpt, but those mandible lines are so obvious it’s unforgivable, hottoys can do better than that and didnt
Really like the figures, but it seems like they didn't want to put the awesome weathering and blood on the black pieces of the body. (Really thought the hand at least could've had some blood on the knuckles. Been so long since I've seen the film I can't tell if the head sculpt is off (because the eyes are sunken in too much) or if the actor looks like that. Still, great figures and Review.
There's quite a bit of blood on the figure! A lot of tiny specs in the black sections of the armor and hands. Lots of details in the paint, it is amazing! The headsculpt is spot on 100%, so much so that the new blu ray of the movie used one of the toy photographers HT figure pic in the cover art
One of the best HT figs, back in the day when HT made figs from franchises I cared about.
They killed it for sure!
I'll buy that for a dollar!
🤣
Lol hahaha
Or 800

Yep!
You're right! I got this one myself a couple of months ago from a Hong Kong seller mint sealed in box! At a very good price
it's among the notoriously well known figures cost higher premium..amazing figure
It’s well worth it!
One thing I always wondered about these figures. Is it possible to attach the damaged Robocop head and neck to the regular release Robocop body?
You certainly can swap the heads between the two Robos
Yep!

Going back to the classical hottoys figures is great they have some great stuff
Hell yeah!

Oh I’ve not seen that one

I have both Robo and Damaged Robo. You can swap heads for old and new look which is great.
Nice you can yeah!
Wonder if Robocop 2 figure will be made too. Would be great if.
Agreed
Does it possible to switch the head from a regular figure to the damaged version? Looks like neck could be too short...
Yes it is!
@@JustinsCollection Are you agree about short neck?))
I love old classic Hot Toys i wish it was diecast but its a masterpiece
It’s feet are actually diecast
Great 👍🏻 figures mate! Awesome retro bro!! Thanks for sharing
Thanks!
Is there any brand of silicone/oil that you’d recommend for treating the rubber on the joints?
Not sure on that one!
What would you use on the rubber parts?
303 protectant

Might do a robocop themed comparison video
@@JustinsCollection that would be great!!

Yeah its more of a juxtaposition type piece to have next to normal robo

Justin - is one of Murphy's pistols (the bigger one) missing the ammo clip? Mine was....
Hmm don’t think so
@@JustinsCollection Ah. Balls.
Love these retro reviews I would consider this a “grail piece” I know you don’t do those as such Justin. Robocop is in my top five films of all time.
Will definitely keep them coming!
That's amazing and amazing that he can find older items/figures
Hell yeah!
Justin's Collection I did buy a rare Mark 85 with the hologram accesory but had no idea that he could look further. Thanks so much for that!

Oh interesting!
Robocop BD is one of the best HT.
It sure is!
I NEED THIS IN MY COLLECTION !!!!!
Go for it!
is it diecast?
Only the feet
I would do bad things to good people to get a re release of any version of robocop. This is pretty much my grail piece
Haha maybe one day
I wish I had enough money to get this
Save man! You can do it

Purple tint??
Supposed to be blue
Ok
Did you hear killmonger got deylayed for 2 to 3 months or more/october to november
Yeah 😢

I think it works pretty well with the dusty black parts

You speak so fast in this one compared to now lol, also such cool figures
Yeah I was working out my style
This is awesome
Hell yeah!
Is it actually new ?
No it’s an older release
Released in 2015... Its a 4 yrs old figure. Mine still looks good and in good condition after 4 yrs on the shelve!
I'd buy this for 500 dollars!
Oh!
Hi
Hello!
Speek Very fast 😂
Sorry
✌️🙂✌️💭Nice
Thanks!
Nice looking Figure and great review but such an overrated movie
I disagree wholeheartedly
@@JustinsCollection that's cool. To each their own 😁
