The game is meant to fill in the gaps in story left inbetween RoboCop 2 & 3 like What happened to Old Man after RoboCop 2, How OCP was brought out the Kanemitsu Corporation and How the Resistance formed.
RoboCop's had many enemies. ED-209 is his rival machine. Clarence was his most cruel and personal. Cable was his most skilled foe. This game perfectly displays why RoboCop2 is his most destructive and powerful enemy.
Gotta say, pretty cool way to set up the 3rd film. Just as Resistance did a solid and fun job establishing the inciting incidents of the first two Terminator films.
Yeah I thought that was weird. Cain dies at the end of Robocop 2, but my thinking is they might have had a second robot because they were pushing for this new type of robot/human combination in Robocop 2, so they may have built 2 of the newer robot, in the hopes of mass producing them.
I get why Kain couldn't talk when he was Robocop 2, he was a prisoner but you would think the old man would have made his unit capable of more than just roaring.
In this continuity, the old man thought he'd be more like Murphy, but Max Becker shut down the project that was to have him get a more sleek body; so he was cheated and was out for revenge.
@@garudanathanael5257 I know. I’m saying this robot will always be Cain in my eyes because of the movie. I know Cain is dead during the timeline of this game
@@splatfan Now that I rewatched this gameplay a month later, I realize that I may actually have been too harsh on some of the voice work, namely that of Max Becker (3:03). I think the VO actor's performance is fine. Rather, it is the animation that's lacking. Despite being choked by Cain's hand around his neck, his face is completely sterile, e.g., no red, blood shot teary eyes, no red, sweaty, frightened face, no tense veins on the forehead - nothing whatsoever to reflect that the man is suffocating. These visual shortcomings clearly caused me to falsely perceive the *voice* acting as weak, where, in fact, it is the animation that fell short.

Based on the message he left beind, it seems that TOM (The Old Man) was inspired by Murphy managing to regain and retain his humanity in spite of his mechanical form. Which inspired him to take on what is basically an all or nothing gambit via having his own brain grafted to the Robocop 2 Mech. Unfortunatly based on how things went in this cutscene, it doesn't look like TOM was able to cope with whatever psychological impact that comes with putting a living human brain in a mechanical body like this and it drove him insane. Plus this probably also hints towards the Robocop 2 body having some serious design flaws in regards to how its human brain reacts to being in it. As unlike the Robocop 1 body, which focuses more on keeping Murphy's brain alive and allowing him to continue his work as a police officer, Robocop 2's body is a war machine through and through. Tbh his chances of cheating death and retaining his humanity would've had a higher chance of success if he chose to copy/paste the tech for Robocop's body instead of trying to recycle the flawed Robocop 2 body. Something that has proven to be successful in past media depictions of Murphy/Robocop Mk.I going against and even joining forces with other Robocop Mk.II characters.
Awesome! Now all they need to do is make a video game about Robocop 3 but actually good. Maybe even take inspiration from Frank Miller's Robocop 3 comic based on his original screenplay. That'd be cool.
