there will never be another band like the bay city rollers. i still listern to them even now and i am now 64. brilliant band great music and so many fantastic memories. they all had their fans screaming at the top of their lungs. bless them i absolutely love these boys love em love em love em
To this day there are folk who are unaware how many folk were fans of this band back in the middle 70s. Many think this band were under rated. But they were not. They were world famous with millions of fans globally. Today only a fraction of the audience are aware of each other. There are so many out there who that fraction don't know. Folk whom I know of are not in knowledge of that fraction of fans.
Hah! Just noticed your comment. I said they were underrated in my comment to this video. 😝When I say it, I mean they were underrated by critics, not by fans. 😉 Zillions of people were crazy over these guys, including myself.
@user-ii7im5dl4p I didn't remember Money Honey. It was big hit. Thanks! I like BCR too. It was something like Beatles ten years earlier. Beatles was unbeatable.
@@derekogilvie6942yeah just watched it and was appalled amd saddened. Check out “When the screaming stops, the Bay City rollers “ corroborates everything covered in the documentary. Paton, Denning, King amd a slew of others in the industry, where preditory monsters!
Pat came from an area in Edinburgh called Magdalene , near Portabello. So did my mum and auntie. He asked my auntie out on a date this same year but she turned him down because he was going on tour.
These guys got well and truly ripped off. They hardly got any money it was put into a layer of offshore accounts and the owners who ripped them off have been hidden one of the most glaring worst scandals ever
And we let them down to We said we loved them but we as fans didn't yell and scream at the theives that stole from them If all the fans gathered together and went after this unfairness...we could make a huge difference But we didn't We made them yesterday heroes and didn't prove our love Keep that in mind We as fans were way stronger than the greedy that stole the money that we thought the Bay city rollers were getting !!!
We didn't help either as fans defending them We let them down made them yesterday heroes and could have screamed and yelled at the unfairness done to them but we didn't ok Now Les Alan and lan are gone I gave money for a fan club... what did you get ??? They stole everything from the Bay city Rollers ok
CAN I PLEASE SEE ANY FILM FOOTAGE OF THE BAY CITY ROLLERS AT THEIR, ADELAIDE CONCERT IN SOUTH AUSTRALIA, AUSTRALIA, IN 1976 I THINK, IF ANYONE OUT THERE HAS IT MUCH APPRECIATED. I WENT TO THEIR CONCERT WITH A FRIEND MAGICAL IT WAS THEY SOUNDED GREAT LIVE JUST LIKE THEIR RECORDS, PLAYED ALL INSTRUMENTS UNLIKE WHAT THE CRITICS SAY SO THERE CRITICS, THEY PLAY ALL OF THE INSTRUMENTS. GREAT BAND LIVE TOO.
I am noticing that Pat McGlynn looks very uncomfortable. I think he came in to replace Alan ( who Tam deemed to be “ too old”) I also heard an awful rumour that Tam tried to put moves on Pat. If true, very disturbing. He was just a kid, and not experienced in world travel with a famous rock band. He may have been traumatized.
But what about Alan? I doubt very much he was pressured in any way that Leslie or woody might’ve been I mean those pants. And what a weird dynamic that must’ve been I mean dealing with your sexuality at that age I mean close your eyes and think of England. I always crushed on les and woods secretly with my tiger beats literally late at night. I saw them in 1977. I was 10 my older sister took me 10,000 screaming girls and me I mean if she didn’t know then lol anyway, the concert was shut down after 45 minutes because they kept rushing the stage. Anyway so when was it 2003 they were playing at our local casino not far from my house and I thought well. This is a perfect time to make a move on Leslie so me and my friend Belinda got a room at the casino, where they were staying of course I gamble at that casino and I know Diane who works reception at the hotel so I found out what room he was in and then ducked two doors down so anyway well and we got up right close to the stage and I was of course hopped up on illegal things and I was wondering, I wonder if les like to partake? Anyway, he caught my eye, naturally, and so anyway, the concert was winding up and well. I don’t know if I should go on is this the right place?
He said Tam Paton attacked him for a 2nd time whilst in Australia. This was in the recent BCR documentary. To me he looks terrified and haunted. Poor young lad.
@@PamelaEveritt-bl2kb He always looked miserable in every performance I've seen. And he was gone before It's A Game even came out. Also, in a lot of interviews from this era, they talk about tax problems.
Such a shame no one spares a thought for the poor old lady les ran over and killed in his mustang drunk. And got away with it.And the next day carrys on with his tour.
I think these guys worked themselves silly for little reward they all should have been millionaires - did their manager profit from them????? who knows but Les / Alan should still be alive today living in luxury
Best rock n roll band ever! Bay City Rollers fans are the most loyal in the world to this day!
These guys sold millions of records, they definitely deserve to be in the Rock and Roll hall of fame!🎸

So nice to find an interview I'd never seen before. These guys are so underrated. Thanks for the upload!
Maybe not underrated. They couldn´t make any big hit themselves. Their hits have been composed professional composers.
@user-ii7im5dl4p But they weren't big hits. Big hits were like Bye Bye Baby, Give A Little Love and I Only Wanna Be With You.

I heard Eric say Paddy had helped on writing one of the songs, but he actually co-wrote THREE songs-Sweet Virginia, Dance Dance Dance and Love Fever.

Pat just had to lay back
Yes rhe programme which featured recently says he pressured that man and the other lads to sleep with both him and another sex offender
All true I'm afraid 😬, most of them did their audition in Tam Paton's bedroom!!😨
