Totally awesome !! Great vocal, absolutely fantastic vocals by the ladies, great great great guitar (!!!!!!!) , great bass and drums. Everything is so top notch . Thanks for the ride !!!!
Cover bands are great because they respect the originals. When was the last time you saw a cover band for any of the little boy/girl pop garbage? Anyone who covers Steely Dan gets my respect straight away!
@@billhunt4539 I never have but as a musician myself I can truly appreciate the standard of musicianship by everyone performing here. Fabulous....and only someone who can't actually play would say otherwise
@@DirectDemocrat I am a professional musician and have played this many times (amongst other SD songs). They're doing an ok job, but there are quite a few mistakes and, no, this is not down to their interpretation: there are wrong notes and mis-timed drum beats. Not many, granted, but they do stand out like sore thumbs...to me, anyway. I'm not runing them down, but I really couldn't say that they've 'nailed it' or 'killed it', especially given that they appear to be an SD tribute band judging by their name.
@@novakingood3788 Considering it's a live performance, the musicianship is damn good, even with an audible glitch or two. But, yes, I have my own 'sore thumb' moment - the harmonies. It's not like they're off-key; they're simply singing an incorrect, simplified version of the original. The actual harmonies are not overly difficult to sing, but you have to know the correct parts. That's the problem with musicians - we know what's going on under the hood and spot details others miss. But I still really enjoy this band's stuff.
The guitars are the stars here, and I can appreciate how the gal with the tambourine played straight hand struck quarter notes without holding the thing close to any mic, and no other empty handed performer was issued a "party favor". The video lost sync badly in the middle but thankfully got back in toward the end, and so overall I enjoyed this very much, top quality cover.
This is Absolutely Fantastic. I have heard the original way too much. I needed to hear it again by this band. What a wonderful vacation this took me on. I will treasure this rendition forever. Thank you guys and girls. Simply Fantastic!!!!!
These guys and gals are stupid good! Really top notch. The guitarists are both well within themselves and are in cruise mode. Really enjoyed their mastery of this classic material
Hey Chris, great camera work on the guitar solos. My wife and I were lucky enough to see Skunk and Denny play those twin-lead guitar harmonies when the Pretzel Logic Tour played the U. of Toledo on April 21, 1974. I'll bet the originator of those solos, Elliott Randall, is well aware of Hank Easton's amazing guitar skills.
This is such a joyful celebration of some of the greatest music of all time. The massive ensemble has every member making this a party. Virtuoso performances and so engaging! The crowd as well! If you're not smiling' and dancing/air-guitarin' all the way through this there's something wrong with you! Magnifico!
Why this hadn't appeared in my feed before I don't understand. Now I have to watch ALL of their videos. That guitar work in particular is simply fantastic!
Superb! Performances are great, so tight, great drummer, guitarrista got the sound right, bass player is superb too and the sound engineer is amazing to get all of you sounding good. What a line up!
@@newmoon54 Hi from Bonnie Scotland, I’ve just enjoyed a Steely Dan morning, Started of with The Royal Scam followed by Pretzel Logic and finishing with Aja ! Can’t get a better start to the day than that, All the best .
When I saw The Dan in the summer of '74 at Rob Gym at UCSB, Elliot Randall was not there. It was Denny Dias and Skunk Baxter on guitar. The 2 of them stood toe-to-toe during the solo of "Reelin". Great show!
Man, I got to give it up. I've been a Steely Dan fan since I Was 16 years old; they are pretty damn good; not many bands can really make Steely Dan music; in my opinion, the shit is articulate man.
Great job Steely Damned! You all kicked arse! Musicianship like yours takes talent, the only talent a critic needs is the ability to flap their gums.......
at 2:14 who's playing the guitar riff that is heard in the soundtrack? i don't believe it's either one of the guitarists up front - can't find a third guitar on stage - the rest of the air guitar & lip-synching is well done
Wow! The Classic Rock Show is good, but this ... this is amazing! And the two lead guitars are frickin' fantastic. Anyway, hats off to the original Steely guitarists, too.
Wow, i love how meticulous Steely Damned are in their cover to the iconic original Steely Dan song, 'Reelin....' This is a great performance.
Totally awesome !! Great vocal, absolutely fantastic vocals by the ladies, great great great guitar (!!!!!!!) , great bass and drums. Everything is so top notch .
Thanks for the ride !!!!
Just regular people having fun on the stage and in the crowd.
What a pleasure to watch!
The guitarist in this band is the best I've come across in an SD tribute.
He's done it a few times lol😅
Yeah, he's good. Even pulled a Hendrix on the guitar!
Hank Easton--he's great. When Steely Dan won a Grammy some years back they hired members of Steely Damned to play their Grammy party.
This is so good and enjoyable. Saturday morning, coffee, Steely Damned 2... Life is good.
Found this by accident. Damn it's good!
Me toooo!!!
what a piece of steely dan and super interpretation
Love the duelling guitars. Everyone was bang on! So many Steely Dan hits have great lead playing. Another tune please . . .
That's my brother Hank!!!! :)
He is great! Looks like a nice person too.
This is a really great and fantastic band , every member, of course especially singer and. guitar player(s) are really fantastic 👍👍👍👍👍
I can't believe how unbelievably elitist some Steely Dan fans are... this is a great show from a great cover band!

Well I'll be damned, Steely Damned really did one great cover of this! 👏
The guitar work is outstanding.
I'm a musician...You all KILLED IT.
So am I.....You're right
Go to 2:14, both players stop playing, however the notes keep flying. Why???
@@guitaristinseattle that's not uncommon, most likely using some recorded backing to keep the quality up and constant
@@pfauniversal1890 Definitely 👍
Awesome cover! That guitar solo! 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰😙🥰😍😍😍😍😍
Hank Easton--he really kills the intro to Don't Take Me Alive.
Unbelievable talent!!! Every note perfectly executed!!
Great lead singer. Reminds me of the English comic Alexi Sayle....

You must be kidding

Great cover, and the best Alexei Sayle impression I’ve ever seen!
I'm so glad I gave this up years ago. Covering other bands is just exhausting. These guys sound great - took a lot of work.
Ok this is awesome. .. why isn't this viral?
Because you would have to get another vaccination.

A+ cover. WOW!
SG on the neck pickup sounds pretty awesome.
Drummer pulls off Jim Hodder's shuffle groove feel with just quarters on the hi hat... and nails it. Great cover all around.
Great song, they still do a fantastic job with this song. One of my favorite songs!!
This is the first Steely Dan song that I heard on the radio. Nice job.
Perhaps because it was their first ever single? 😊😆😊😆😊🤘🏻
Love you guys
What a great performance ! Nice show & ambiance !!! Greetings from Brussels ....
I was just 18 when this song was popular. Good old
