Chi is correct. The Maester killed himself to poison her. She didn't do anything to him. Her magic made her immune to the poison though, which is why she chose to drink it in front of him anyway after he started to die.
When he called Jon pretty, he wasn´t romantically interested in him. It´s just an insult between men, he´s calling him a pretty boy, which means he´s soft and weak.
Also, pointing out that he trusts Jon least for being such an attractive guy that his wives/daughters might notice.
Yes GoT with Chi and Hella is such a joy. 😊 Looking lovely. Death is so boring and the girls say “yeah” at the same time 😁. Chi “make him handicap” Hella wants to make him a doll - so funny. Thanks ladies. 🤗
The reason they don't really torture or mutilate Jamie is anything that they do to him will be done to Sansa, or worse.
@@krishomeniuk1186 True 👍
You were correct, he was willing to die in order for her to drink the poisoned cup because he felt she was an evil influence to the king (and he was loyal to him). What he didn't realize is that the witch's power were far greater than he could imagine. She could have let him die while not drinking, but she drank to show him that his efforts was pointless and demonstrate she's not a fraud but actually had powers.
I'm not so sure, the look on the maesters' face seem to suggest Melisandre made his cup poisoned like she switched it since she hadn't drank anything yet, only when he is dying does she drink the wine. Maybe you are correct but it seems she hexed him to me.
@@Alex-xz4im They both were poisoned, but the lord of light protects her, she let him kill himself in a wasted attempt to kill her.
@@Deorman Makes no sense for the maester to kill himself if he wants to protect Stannis and for him to not trust Melisandre. But yah you're probably right but it makes no sense looking the situation over again, imo
@@Alex-xz4im if you watch closely, he begs Davos to speak on his behalf. When he get refused at the beach he decides to take matters on his own hand. The show included this scene from the books. watch around 52:40. He grabs the poison from one of his chain links then drops it into his drink (which Davos notices he even whispers "don't"). In the books he offers the drink which she makes no moves to take so he decides to drink it himself to show her it's safe (knowing the poison won't kill him immediately). In the show this was changed to him drinking first and then giving her the cup (which is pretty weird tbh). Nevertheless it works the way it was intended.
He was willing to die for his king because he raised all 3 baratheon boys when they were kids as he was the maester assigned to Storm's end. So they were more like sons to him. To be fair to the maester, magic and supernatural things were all superstition from the uneducated peasants. Real magic hasn't been seen for thousands of years which is why he felt confident in confronting this "fraud". Only to realize the error in judgement and where she condescendingly displays a fraction of her power to show her god protects her even from poison.
@@unbeheld that makes it a bit more clear for that argument, just seems silly he would sacrifice himself.
Im just calling out this scene that seems a bit ambiguous but I feel you. I understand the lore just this scene seemed kinda wonky imo. thats all I meant
13:48 Chi is correct... Like the Princess Bride, both drinks were poisoned.
But Melisandre is immune to poison.
Inconceivable
@@BetterDays-e8h 'If that means what I think that means, then I don't think you're saying it right.'

I've been having wifi issues since the rain season, however, this is a channel I never miss.
It doesn't matter that I have to cross the street lakes all the way to downtown, I manage to watch them.
This and the Asian Angels channel had become my favorite show
Sir Dontas, the guy who Joffrey almost had executed for turning up late to the tourney, has an interesting backstory (almost every named character in the show has a backstory of some sort that George R. R. Martin wrote up somewhere).
His entire house was killed on the order of The Mad King for rebellion. He was just a baby at the time, but the Mad King was going to kill him too. Barristan Selmy personally begged the Mad King to spare the infant, because he didn't feel right about killing a baby who had committed to crime. Because Baristan is such a badass, the Mad King relented. So the kid was allowed to live, but he grew up the only surviving member of his family. Which might be why he ended up a bit of a slob.
"Revenge! Make him handicap!" 😆
she's right, that would be a great form of revenge.
Hi girls, I think you are coming up on 1 year movie munchies anniversary. Congratulations! Love your channel, you deserve and I wish you every success going forward. Stay awesome 😊
When Craster called Jon Snow a 'pretty boy' it is not a compliment of interest. It is an insult with a hint of a threat.
You were correct when you said Stannis' Maester poisoned both himself and Melisandre (the Red Priestess). He knew he was going against the wish of Stannis, so he wanted to die with his enemy. She used that moment as a power move. She let others see that the poison killed the Maester, while her God protected her from that same poison.
Stannis: "A lie take it out...Ser Jaime Lannister, the man is still a knight."
He’s such a grumpy, but very straightforward middle child.
What an awesome reaction.💜 It's so cool to see you ladies so immersed in the series.
I always say you ladies have a good sense of character and you're right, Tyrion is the only good Lannister.
I'm already looking forward to the next episode.
All the best for this new season from the country of the Red Woman (Melissandre), the Netherlands!
23:03 Hella is gonna make this face (shocked and disturbed) A LOT in the upcoming seasons.
Remember everyone, they read the comments. No hints, no sneaky spoilers, nothing. Let them enjoy
Spoiler, alert "winter is coming"😊
Lol im genuinely concerned for hella's mental health threw this g.o.t journey bless her heart 😂
In old English mythology, a woman with Red Hair and Green Eyes was believed to have magical powers. Red hair is the least common hair color, and green is the least common eye color. Even rarer is having mismatching colored eyes, which does happen with white people, and this of course was thought to be extra magic. Witches can have any hair or eye color but red hair with green eyes is always the most powerful witches, with mismatched eyes always being powerful. I think the red haired woman was cast for this reason for her part,, and it is helpful to know when seeing movies about witches and magic from white people culture.
Of course one of the powers of witches is that they can make men go crazy with lust (crazy from love) so there might be another reason for the red hair green eyes combo in stories.
I guess I am a bit of a rarity. Not completely red hair, but dark auburn, with green eyes, and left-handed to top it all off. 😄
Not just in old English mythology similar supersitions were common in mamy European country. Even in modern pop culture witches are still often depicted read headed.
That’s pretty cool to know!
You girls are dressing up for watching a tv show on a couch fancier than I dress up for weddings. 😂
I think this is one of the reasons why they are 🔥. I know for them I look forward to seeing them. Hearing their takes on films I enjoyed, not the ones I didn’t enjoy though. I hope they are achieving their goals for this channel. Seems a business, but still personable. What happened to Katie-she seemed nice!
Your reactions are so much fun thanks!
So excited to see you watch the rest of season 2. And eventually the rest of the series.
If there was an award for the best dressed people on a reaction channel, Chi and Hella would win it by a country mile.
Great reaction as always ladies.
the night is dark and full of terrors
You are doing so well with these Ladies, Hard going sometimes but worth it! 💜
the slap from his mother - the only time joffrey showed restraint and common sense! anyone else in her place would have met an instant horrible death!!
Tyrion slaps him too lol.
Love your GOT reactions. Seasons 2 & 3 really are some of the best TV ever produced.
In the past, before Viserys became this person, after his mother died, he took his sister and ran away, begging for anything he could, until the people called him the Beggar King. Until finally, he sold his mother's crown, which was the last thing he had. He sold it to feed his sister. That's why he was obsessed with the throne and the crown.
Viserys is bipolar. If he's good, he's very good. If he's bad, he's very bad. He taught Daenerys to read and write, and taught his sister everything he knew.
As his next act as King after executing Ned Stark, Jeffrey has ordered all his half-siblings (the bastards of the late King Robert) to be killed to eliminate potential rivals to the throne, given that he's already facing challenges from both his "paternal uncles" and the North.
9:26 Craster's family shocks Chi and Hella! "Ooooh, it's even worse than the Lannisters!"
After a rough day at work your video brought me joy. Rock on ladies.
14:21 No, you were right. The old man drank to show her it wasn't poisoned, but it was. He wanted to kill her, and she knew. But she drank anyway because she has supernatural powers, and she knew the poison wouldn't affect her (she is like a witch).
You both look extra beautiful this episode. You look like princesses. ❤
Yes, both cups were poisoned but she was just immune...hard to believe tho, I know...possibly even....INCONCEIVABLE!!!!
Emilia Clarke had a health crisis involving brain aneurysms while shooting Season 1 and 2. Could explain her more limited screen time this season
That. And that she was pushing back very hard about the constant gratuitous nudity.
"...the first episode is too strong!" BRACE YOURSELF ladies 😉 they only get stronger. you are understanding more and more and your reactions are WONDERFUL! 👍☺
Smart, empathetic and funny. Good stuff reactions. :)
12:15 The night is dark and full of terror
Hella: Full of terror??
Chi: I don't see any terror yet
You will see...hehehe you will see...😂
they are still such sweet summer children
And the mistakes in the bloopers are funny and full of errors.
OMG. 😅 Chi: "I wanted him to make him handicap." Such blood lust! Wasn't she a nice gentle, unassuming lass at the beginning of her channel? Wow! 😂 And, "Yeah, we can make a doll of him or something." 😂 Yikes, Hella... Love your reactions ladies! ❤
Jolly old times! 🤣
If you guys haven't already, you should check out the video series "Game of Thrones Histories and Lore". There is a video for each season. They dive a little deeper into the history and concepts and help with the world building of this universe. And they are narrated by the cast themselves.
Hella is going to be a changed human being from this show.
14:12 he tried to poison the red woman, but she is magical and therefore the poison cannot kill her
This season is I think my favorite first episode... it sets up so much and places Arya and Gendry in direct impending danger... So exciting!
Such a good show
What no one has pointed out is exactly how many of the Charecter actors have been in the series that they have already watched.
@27:42: Joffrey is not jealous. He is not a Baratheon. He is a bastard himself. Another bastard with Baratheon blood like Gendry could have a better claim than him or his little brother, who is Jaime’s kid too. He is therefore eliminating the competition.
Robb's (And his Direwolf) encounter with Jaime was not a dream. Robb just wanted to scare the King slayer.
No one spoil it, don't say which one it is, but like if you are waiting to see their reaction to THAT episode.
❤❤
Please watch 177 episodes of TWD. Also, I love what you are wearing Hela, great color! And Chi your hair looks GREAT long and put up like that, those gold earrings are perfect on you!
🌸🌸
Chi could play the Game of Thrones
……but how would she fare. She has the passion for justice like Ned, no blind spots survive the GoTs
Chi and Hela’s dresses are here to remind you that beautiful girls enjoy getting flowers and presents with bows on them 😉
Robb Stark is clever and honorable, but is more pragmatic than his father. Such a likeable character.
next episod pls love it
can't wait for more 🙂
Great Reaction Chi and Hella. Y'all Should Watch The Karate Kid Moves. Cobra Kai and Vikings
Yes, yes, yeeeees!!
I hope you make it allbthe way to the end
I would love to see you guys do a reaction to the movie the Jerk starring Steve Martin and Bernadette Peters so please comment on Navin being Really Dirty when both his Family and Marie find him.
A couple of things from this episode that made me unsure if you got the correct picture of things: Firstly, the conversation between Cersei and Littlefinger. Like you noticed, Littlefinger called Cersei out for her secret and she put him back in his place. But before that, Cersei was calling Littlefinger out for loving Catelyn Stark. So it wasn't a story about a man loving his daughter, it was about Littlefinger having fallen in love with a daughter from a great house, Tully. She was probably saying this to question his loyalty to the crown: Will you find Catelyn's daughter for me, or are you reluctant because of your love for her mother? Secondly, from the start I wasn't sure if you understood that "Mad King" has never been used to refer to Robert Baratheon. It was the previous king whom Robert lead the rebellion against: Daenerys' father, who was known to burn people alive and all that sort of things. I think it's a bit early to decide if Joffrey is worse, but he is terrible for sure.
14:09 no you're right, he was trying to get her to trust that the cup was safe. He planned to kill her, and sacrifice himself to do it.
You should also watch Into the Badlands
I love your reactions to this show. You both seem to be so sweet and kind hearted, which stands in stark contrast to the brutality and cruelty of many of the characters in the show. And of course the fact that you're both so cute is a bonus! 🤭
I find it very interesting that you said Bran (even though he's still a kid) has what it would take to be a King..........
5 seconds into the reaction and I’m already liking the reaction. That’s how much I love this channel ❤❤❤
Tyrion is seriously the best. My favorite character in this series.
Tyrion was one of the best characters in GoT's. And the actor who played Joffrey did an excellent job in portraying his character. A great actor makes their audience feel some relation to the story, and he made people HATE his character so much that the actor quit acting because people gave him Hell. That's quality acting!
3:41 Hella like's Sansa's trickery!
Bravo.
14:26 No you were right. He poisoned the drink and drank it in hopes she would as well....but it did not kill her and she claims the "Lord of light" for that.
8:10 "I want a dragon to grow big, so she can drive it." - requested an optimistic Chi.
The girls should react to Eric Andre clips
Before going to episode 2 of got watch game of thores lore and stories
craster wasnt attracted to jon snow, he was just calling him a pretty boy and comparing him to a girl as an insult
If I'm wrong, someone can correct me, but I do not think that the scene at 15:40 was a dream...I think it was just somewhat confusing editing.
Handicap Him!🫨
Please react to World War Z, it’s one of my comfort movies 🥰
Beautiful as always,Chi I,m impressed with your reference to the story To Kill A Mockingbird.Hella beyond words .
Please react to Kung Fu Hustle (2004)! ❤
omg Hella you look like a sweet cake here.
you must make a hade and love list.
You all need to start watching the "Rush Hour" movies with Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker 😂😂😂 They are Hilarious and I know you all would like them, especially Rush Hour 2.
Chee u r so cute ❤
Lovely girls, so much character and beauty. Would you girls consider a kissing episode? That would be much appreciated!! 😉 ❤
what's a kissing episode???
Watch "Sonic The Hedgehog"
@@Semaj4747 I'm sure they're will
Chi and Hella-“Power is Power”. 17:28. Lesson Learned
12:57 so Stannis knows about Joffrey, Ned Stark sent Stannis a letter, where he told the truth
10:03 I'm dying 😂
lol, it's a good guess though.
28:23. Interesting Modern Take. Would be curious about hearing more about proper treatment. We’ve seen an awful lot of men slaughtered-would that be proper? It would seem in this story, being a woman-kept you alive. How many women have been killed? I’m trying to count, but I’m missing one to start-the witch, the woman killed the witch! One!!!
This is kind of ignorant. We haven't seen how many women were slayen by Drogos warriors or raped to death!.A lot of men where warriors who at least are able to fight back. What about the prostituts who were just murdered? Are they not women? And what about female bastard children who were just killed? Also we know about at least two murdered/killed women in the past. And if we take House of the Dragons into account you can see that death turing or after childbrith is very commmon. Daenerys almost died herself. Patirarchal times like these can also mean that girls are killed right after birth very often. No, being a woman or a girl didn't keep you alive. Boys most likely had a better chance to reach adulthood. -And of course it dosn't mean they treated men right. Just look at Sam who dosn't fit the male ideal of that time.
Just to be clear your aggressive criticism was not in the story, just all in your imagination and why would they kill female infants-she wasn’t crying out a female name. They didn’t kill female babies because they weren’t a threat to the throne of Joffrey. Don’t you understand the story? The lower status of females saved them from being slaughtered, but hey their feelings were hurt-we all know hurting a woman’s feeling is equivalent to slaughtering an army of men-in modern feminist times. Be sure and register for selective service chicly boo. Equal.
