In this video I talk about my experience eating for my blood type.
The Blood Type Diet was created by naturopath Dr. Peter J. D'Adamo. D'Adamo claims that the foods you eat react chemically with your blood type. If you follow a diet designed for your blood type, your body will digest food more efficiently. You'll lose weight, have more energy, and help prevent disease.

About a month ago I switched from decades of vegetarianism/pescatarianism to the correct diet for my blood type, which is O+. I won't go into minute detail about all the health issues I was having (in "short" - horrible, relentless, ever-present heartburn for almost 15 years; swollen, painful knees that _always_ hurt, that had been injured in the past; fluid retention in my feet, ankles and lower legs - with red skin/inflammation there, too; plus weird skin problems - blotches on my arms, etc.; *and* I had gained about 40-50 lbs over the past 10 years) but within HOURS of eating beef my heartburn disappeared and has not come back. Within 5 days on the diet for blood type O+, my knees stopped hurting and the swollen feet, ankles and legs were close to normal again. Blotchy skin is diminished and I honestly feel 55-60 years old again, instead of the 70 years old that I am. (I have also started to lose weight.)
I had heard about the Blood Type Diet for years and dismissed it as just another fad diet. That first beef meal was a "fluke;" my son and his wife brought it to share with me and I didn't want to hurt their feelings, so I ate it. My son was out of the country for several years, and I guess he forgot I didn't eat red meat! lol I ate a lot, because it was tasty. When I saw _immediate_ improvement in my wellbeing, (not one bit of heartburn that evening or the next morning...) I researched and found that meat was right for my blood type. I went out that day and bought beef. Although I had been a true coffee addict for decades, I was so inspired by my very sudden, "miraculous" better health that I quit coffee "cold turkey." I have learned to love my parsley tea and many other foods I had not been eating, and I don't miss the "Avoid" foods at all, because this change in wellbeing is just SO worth it! :-) I will follow this eating plan faithfully for the rest of my life.

I started easing into the blood type diet 2 weeks before Thanksgiving. I have not been 100% consistent as I implement more of the foods for my type each week.. But I absolutely notice a difference in how I feel, my skin, mood, and mental clarity. I am down 12 pounds so far.

I've had the Eat Right 4 Your Blood Type book for over 20 yrs. I'm blood type A & I'm NOT vegetarian. Type A’s CAN eat chicken, turkey, certain fish. I love salmon, cod, & sardines, which are on the beneficial list. So far, I've lost 10 lbs. with 15 more to go. Headaches I've had daily over the last year have disappeared since I've followed the book faithfully.

Most of the things I love to eat aren’t good for me.. when I stick to beef and cod/salmon avocados my body composition and skin are amazing.. quitting coffee and cream was hard but my body hates it! So glad when log on this gave me great energy. I am a blood type B and I have been getting better and better as time progress with following this life style change. What is most important is my children’s lifestyle change and how to break them away from foods we gravitate to culturally. Chicken is my number 1 problem food and it’s easy for me to kick as I understand the harm it does to me but my daughter not so much. I am redirecting her now so when she does become my age, it will be automatic. Often times adults focus on themselves first and forget that our kids is our big investments and will out live us so I put my children before me in everything. This lifestyle change will help combat ADD, AHD, Anxiety, Obesity, Brain Fog, Crime(chemical imbalance), and optimal health overall in all of us. Thanks Doc!

      UPDATE:
Last December, I was admitted into the hospital for glucose toxicity and keto acidosis with an a1c of 17.
This resulted in me being diagnosed with type 2 diabetes.
Since being on the blood type diet,
I have brought down my a1c to 6.2 with minimal exercise.
The diabetic nurse informed me that my insulin dosage will be decreasing with the recent change in my health.

Great video! Thanks for sharing! I read part of the book Eat Right 4 Your Type by Dr. Peter J. D'Adamo back in 2000. Although what I read was interesting, at that time I didn't make any dietary changes. Fast forward to August 2023 I was feeling unwell, and felt like as a 56 year old woman who had recently (February 2023) been diagnosed with hypertension, I needed to make some dietary changes. Someone told me to only eat fruit. I did that for three days and felt weak and bloated, and still felt unwell. My sister brought to my remembrance the eat right for your blood type book. I decided to eat for my blood type, O+. What a huge difference it has made. I don't get bloated anymore. I stay full longer. I've lost weight. I have more energy. I've only been eating this way for 7 weeks (08/20/23 - 10/7/23) but so far so good!

This is an interesting topic I am RHO pos had many issues , Irritable bowl, as a teenager, lots of urinary track infections, as a adult had highest test for Lupus ever recorded BC Interior, over years Irritable bowl gets worse. Went Carnivore to see what was bothering me and slowly put food back in diet. Starting looking at Blood type O foods: Very Strange! The things I knew and proved bothered me are in the Harmful area (I grew up and continued all my life eating peanut butter for breakfast, lunch and dinner if could get away with it) Went Gluten free 1996 and things improved inflamation definitely improved, should have continued further and eliminated all grain, or use neutral grains in list. Everything harmful has been in my diet, and my husband printed out a list of what to eat and not, definitely is making sense to me, and body been telling me that for years, time I listened at 75 years this June. Lost 35 lbs, wow anyway anyone really suffering should try this, IMPORTANT enter slowly change slowly remember been abusing ourselves for years! Love Carolyn

Doc, when one starts doing the blood type diet, how many days/months can one see some health improvements?

    • @Constance8722
      @Constance8722 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

*I am blood type O+,* and when I "started" by eating beef for the first time in many years, I experienced the improvement _immediately - I kid you not!_ (Read my long comment on this video.) I experienced other improvements within a week. It has been miraculous for me. According to the Blood Type Diet plan, someone with blood type A could have thrived on a lot of the foods with which I used to flood my body (wheat, soy, corn, oats, avocado, coffee, potatoes and other "wrong" vegetables, etc., etc. - and I was eating zero red meat.) But I sure didn't thrive!! I was getting sicker and sicker, and more and more worried about it, before I changed to the diet for blood type O.

I went on this “diet” and lost 8 lbs in one week. I am an “A” and not easy to adopt with my family. But I did. Introduced foods that were different; got rid of foods that were not beneficial. My digestion worked in a way I never thought possible. Still have the book. Though many go out of their way to discredit it, it worked amazingly. Also my allergies subsided. And….you are not counting calories or going hungry. Need to reincorporate.

Just this week I ate some potatoes and the next day my leg pain was so bad I could hardly walk. I have a type A relative who swears by this eating plan. My best friend is type A and we get different reactions to the same foods.

I am blood type O+ and went from being a pescatarian (formerly vegetarian,) to strictly following the diet for my own blood type about a month ago. ALL my horrible health issues were resolved within a week. From what I have read about blood type A, the way you are currently eating is pretty much correct for you!! Blood type A can also process a lot of the grains I was eating much more easily than I could. I was eating, basically, the way someone with blood type A should eat. I now feel that, over those many years, I was nearly poisoning myself.
