Actually, I’ve been doing my own English playthrough of Friends Gathering Apartment via livestreams! I was unfortunately not able to find a legally acquired copy, so if you wanted to play it you’d need to use citra and jump through a couple of hoops. Not sure if that’s something you’d be ok with, but if you’re interested I can help recover it.
Also, just a clarification, it is actually not possible for child and adult miis to date in the Korean version from as far as I’ve played from it. Mr. Tomo also wears a motorcycle helmet, and not a robot helmet. I’ve been gathering more differences, but I’m not quite ready to share all of them yet :,). My own regional differences video has all some differences you haven’t mentioned here either, so feel free to explore some of that if you’re interested!
Omggg you have an emulated copy??? I will def have to check out your livestreams!! I'm super interested in finding out more about this file, I'd love to be able to emulate the game somehow!! I'm def interested for sure. I had no idea anyone had actually found a way to play this version and now I'm beyond excited!! I'll have to check out your videos for sure! Hopefully the more research put down, the more we can find out about this copy of Tomodachi Life~!
My mistake with Mr. Tomo! I misread I love the helmet so much though! During my research this is what I found about the child/adult mii sutuation: "In the Japanese and Korean versions, it is possible for two Miis, one a child and the other an adult, to date, get married and have children (with the child using a Age-o-matic). To avoid controversy, this feature was altered in Western versions so Miis can only date and marry if they are in the same age group."

The child Mii situation I probably have to investigate more, cus the Wiki I've noticed contains a few inaccuracies that have yet to be edited, but I'll need to be more certain in my assumption before I mention more about it!

in Europe they were a robot head

the game at 6:33 is actually in the european version as well. one mii starts by saying a food item or an item u can get from playing a game with ur mii. if for example the mii says 'tomato' then the second mii has to say a word that ends with the last letter of the previous word, in this case 'o'. and then it just continues on until one mii can’t think of another item. in europe we actually have both this and the rap battle i never knew america was lacking it :0

another regional difference you didn't mention which i found on the tomodachi life wiki; in the korean version, there's a problem that isn't seen in any other version of the game where your mii wants to go on a blind date :)
also, something you forgot to mention about word chain (i play the eu version), the next word has to start with the last letter of the previous word (for example, if it was food association and one mii said "english breakfast", the other mii would have to think of a food item beginning with t, such as "tea", then the first mii would have to think of a food item beginning with a and so on and so forth until the game ends)

I wrote this on your iceberg video of a regional difference I found in the game since I had the rom. "In the dream where a mii is spied on by another mii, instead of a ninja, the spy will wear traditional korean clothing with the long garment and black hat. I haven't seen a female variant of it since it was a male mii."

In Europe, a mii shouts out the word, and then the opposing mii has to shout out a word that begins with the letter that the previous word ended with

I really hope that for Tomodachi Life on the switch, if they do add it, they put in the feature for same-gender couples like they sort of did/implied with miitopia when it came out for the 3ds. I could care less if it only had the standard mii creation that was on the switch, but if it had more overall diversity I would be so happy. Like same gender couples, and a nonbinary option as well
Off topic but I used to play those bad street pass mii games like save mii or mii quest or something and I don’t think anyone’s made an effort to archive those games cuz who cares, but what if one day Nintendo stops running street pass or mii plaza? Those games would be lost and no one would care, I would archive them but I can’t find my 3ds charger and I don’t know how to. Also maybe someone did archive them and this comment was pointless

They’re both very similar but the Japanese version is very cute and it’s a older than Tomodachi life . I enjoy playing Both. Considering they’re ran on different applications , No progress lost so far . And downloading the custom firmware was really easy to do . So you could definitely give it a shot :)

I know it's a little bit off topic, but let me say that I really love your content and it goes for the funny moments in your game. I actually like looking at lost media and I think my favorite one which had a happy ending was the original 1966 Osomatsu-kun episodes. If you don't know, I have a love for Osomatsu-san and it's a really crazy show and Karamatsu is my boi and I just adore him to bits. But yeah other than that, this is a pretty interesting piece of lost media. 6:34 is word chain you say a word and the person has to think of a word related to the subject and that begins with the last letter of the word the previous mii said
For example
mii 1: cheese
mii 2 escargot
mii 1: tomato
the European version has this , it was it was taken out of the American version i believe

This is not lost media.
While playing half of the American clothes do not appear, some regional clothing exclusive is a Mario jumper. There are also major food differences. There are also major apartment differences to fit the Korean regional differences and even includes the 80s apartment from the British version, also when saying a miis name or an item or food while a mii is singing the miis face or item comes up on screen behind them.
I absolutely adore the gender non-conforming friend in the ads near the end of the video, they seem so happy and they look like they're genuinely having a great time. It makes me so happy!
i found something out about the korean version recently, miis in this game can go out on blind dates! a friend problem with pop up on their window and they will ask for a date with random mii of the opposite gender (but you can sometimes pick aswell) then it will show a cutscene of them in a cafe talking, or going on rides at the theme park. then they’ll both come home and they either become just friends or their special someones!

The reason why the feature of children dating a adult in the Japan version is because Enjo-kōsai (where a young school girl dates a older man for money) is very popular in Japan

i think the fact that a child mii can date an older mii with the age-o-matic used because of an oversight, but i could be wrong. basically, with the spray it treats the mii as it is the age displayed, and it must have forgotten to remove the features for those child miis to date and marry and have kids with adult miis. im so glad they fixed it because... yikes 😬

In my opinion, it's SOO weird that all the other languages on tomodachi life sound quite normal, like the korean and english versions sound amazing and then japanese, its OWN language sounds weird.. i know japanese is different to other languages but they put more work into other languages
