- The Nintendo Switch is on its last legs, but that doesn’t mean the outcry for beloved games on the system is any less prevalent. One title, however, eclipses nearly all others in terms of raw demand: Tomodachi Life. I mean to be fair, Animal Crossing was a series with a consistent Pattern. I frickin love Tomodachi life, but what’s annoying about not getting a new one is very different from being inconsistent. People expect AC, but don’t get it; we hope (but not expect) to get a new Tomodachi life. Hope vs expectations. Plus I don’t think AC and TL have anyone in common, you don’t have to tear down AC fans in the hope that that gets someone to make Tomodachi life quicker. We all want content in the worlds of our favorite games

The only reason I would buy a direct port is if I want a second island without modding/hacking.

Update: Yeah after thinking about for a bit and replaying the first game some more, I think I'd rather see a sequel that adds tons of new content.

What the new tomodachi life will need if it gets remade;
- LGBTQ possibilities
- More activities
- More problem types to solve
- More songs (the best part)
- More achievements
- Similar if not same character customisation as Miitopia
Also I bet the reason why Nintendo hasn't come back eith tomodachi life is because they saw the power they gave us and were scared
More things:
- Dreams are more fun or have some extra aspect to them
- Ability to ask miis to be friends with other miis (instead of relying on a CHANCE for them to ask to be friends with a mii) even if it doesn't work out or they don't get along, we should at least have the ability for them to introduce each other or something
- See a list of all food likes and dislikes for each mii
- More areas on island in general
- Room decor options (they can be minimal but you could get items from miis to then decorate with instead of selling them at the pawn shop)
- Food name and description corrections (I mean seriously, "Bacalao" for the portuguese dish??? Didn't that pass ANY checks lol that one HURT my portuguese heart)
@WildVee the chance aspect of friendship was so fun tho. I definitely wouldn't mind a way to make certain miis interact to be friends, like perhaps invite both to an event and they talk there.
@@Nebby_smells Oh definitely, it is fun! It's adorable how it can be so random :) But for example, I have some miis from an anime series on my island and *none* of them are friends. It's heartbreaking! The fact there's nothing I can do about it really sucks, I think there should be way to urge them at least :)
We dont need that lgbt bullshit
- Less regional differences, please. I want all of the content in each version instead of having to mod the region exclusive stuff into the US or EU version.
- A proper family tree system so we don't end up with incest, a huge problem if you aren't using a save editor to force Miis as siblings or family
- More stuff to do with baby/child Miis
- I want to say adding a pet system (cat/dog/bird to keep things simple), but I feel a Nintendogs revival would be a lot better for that sort of thing
- On top of gay Miis, aromanticism as an option would be super useful too (Mii cannot fall in love and will reject all romantic confessions regardless of relationship status)

I’m SAYING!! Tomodachi Life is one of my favorite Nintendo series, and I know it could work well on the Switch (or the next Nintendo console, at this point). I’ll never stop hoping, but it does hurt having to wait.

I feel like this game is a no brainer but Nintendo doesn’t want to start controversy with LGBT relationship options in the game. They’re dammed if they do and damned if they don’t.
I would say that they would probably have to adapt per region to avoid backlash if you know what I mean. Which won't happen anyway, but probably what could solve it from getting banned from some countries. Kind of like there's movie scene adaptations for some countries and not others.

the weirdest part about miitopia’s port is that it isn’t even in the top 50 games sold for the 3ds while tomodachi life is well within the top 15
the absolute chokehold tomodachi life had on 12 year old me is still present now at 20 (though to a lesser degree) and seeing just a port of it would be a dream come true

So funny you make this video, I found my 3ds while cleaning today and immediately started Playing Tomodachi life again hahahaha
I was expecting this to just be a thoughtless "Why won't Nintendo make what I want them to make?!" rant but this was actually really well thought out and had some good points, and wasn't just focused on personal desires. I haven't bought a new Switch game in a while, let alone played the Switch for months, but if there's a Tomodachi Life release on the Switch, that'll change immediately.

Honestly, while I wouldn't have wanted such a thing earlier in the switch's life, at this point, just give us a remaster with Miitopia level customization, I just need my fix man
When Tomodachi Life came out there was a lot of outcry from the queer community because of things like gender and heterosexuality being hard-coded into the game. I genuinely don't think Nintendo is willing to budge OR to court that controversy again, so to them, the best road is to just leave Tomodachi Life in the dust. It sucks but I do genuinely believe that has a lot to do with why we aren't getting another Tomodachi Life.
I thought they were going to fix that in later games? In Miitopia, I’m pretty sure gay couples were allowed. I think there was something with Russia making it 18+ because of it. I think Nintendo would be okay with making it possible to have queer relationships in Tomodachi Life if they were to reboot it.
@@saturnthemirrorballits not really outright “gay couples” all the characters in miitopia are just friends, and none of them have gender i think, unlike in tomodachi life where gender plays a roll and they can have romantic relationships, not just really close friendships

I think it’ll be year 1 for the next console. Without Animal Crossing year 1 (we just got Side Order which is made by the AC devs) they’ll want a game to scratch that Animal Crossing life sim itch. Also sooooo many people want a new one, maybe even more than the Pikmin and Metroid fans were pre switch, so a new game would be huge

Althought if they do that, they better also include life and make it a whole series collection (heh). That way nothing is lost and everything is on one console. Besides I would love to be able to natively access the japanese songs. Would absolutely have a motivation to learn Japanese just to make songs (not the only motivator but the most tangible one).
@@TheStickCollector Did you know the Japanese version is named Tomodachi Collection? The first one was only released for Japan, and the second one was titled Tomodachi Collection: New Life, and it got renamed Tomodachi Life for the other regions.

@@TheStickCollector Someone has mentioned that New Day is probably taking the attention away from Tomodachi Life. I wish the creator of New Day worked with the companies that did Tomodachi Life. Someone is hoping Nintendo will sue them. I think the game is already available on Steam. The creator is telling me that he is not cheating off of Tomodachi Life, it just has the experience of the Sims and Tomodachi Life. I did suggest he worked with Nintendo, but he already made a demo of the game on Steam, so it seems like there was no going back on that. I even told some people to stop begging, because Nintendo might cancel the sequel, but they tell me that the more they beg, the more likely Nintendo will bring it, but it seems like Nintendo does the opposite. Someone did a video that Nintendo is not bringing Tomodachi Life back, and someone noticed it was because fans kept pressurizing Nintendo into making a sequel, so they shut down the series.

I would say the more competition the better. They might even have to make one in order to keep some of the original marketshare.

I remember watching Saltydkdan react to the direct that featured the Miitopia announcement and ever since then I've had hope that it'll appear in a direct someday and it doesn't matter how many directs it takes because when it does, us Tomodachi Life fans will unite as one

wii u has to be one of if not my favourite console. `the game library was insane coupled with the fact it was backwards compatible and the coherence between everything with things like miiverse implementation and connection to the 3d was amazing. I think the switch certainly improved on some of this through combining it with a fully handheld functionality but my god the wii u ran so the switch could sprint and honestly though the switch is pretty great and I guess an inevitable evolution, it doesnt have the same charm.
Wii U was my favorite console. If I did download some stuff on the Wii, I can transfer all of that to the Wii U. There were classic games I can download on the Wii and Wii U. I meant Wii does NES, SNES, N64, Sega Master, Sega Genesis, Turbo Grafx, and I'm wondering if I'm leaving anything out, and Wii U does NES, SNES, N64, GBA, Nintendo DS, and Wii. It's a shame that the GameCube got left out. I thought it would have been better if Wii U downloaded Game Cube games instead of Wii games. The Wii disks could still go in the Wii U, but to play the Wii disk, I have to go to Wii Menu to play it. I know, because I used to have a Wii, and then got a Wii U, and then transferred the stuff from Wii to Wii U, and all the transferred stuff from Wii is in the Wii Menu.

I wish that Nintendo can bring back Tomodachi Life on the switch because you can interact with the mii character's which brought life to the 3Ds and player there was so much potential to the game.

Don't get me wrong, I would LOVE to see Tomodachi life on switch, BUT whenever I see these videos I can't help but wonder how it would actually work on the system. Like can you play docked? where will those menus and apartment icons be? what can they do to make a next title bigger and better?
I want to see Nintendo make it because I would love to see how they make it work
They'll probably have a cursor/box around icons. Don't see why they wouldn't have that.
I just hope that we can actually make something out of the new hardware, like a gyroscope for the console/controllers with trigger buttons for the shutter.
I'm pretty sure some tomodachi life's features can be taken from the way they interpreted miitopia

There is a indie game in development called new day that is very similar to tomodachi life. The demo is on steam

I hope that if Tomadachi Life 2 doesn't come out for the switch, its being held for next system simply for the added customization.
Like I can see Miis being revived in a big way with using Miitopia customization as a basis for the new Mii software on the next system. Adding more variety of hairstyles, face details, clothing, stickers/pins, social features, themes etc.
If it does come out to switch this year, I'm excited haha hopefully they build upon the miitopia maker and have more clothing, activities, food, song options to write, etc.
BRING BACK TOMODACHI LIFE
In my opinion, they SHOULD add Tomodachi Life to the Switch, but I also feel they should add 2DS and 3DS game chips to be able to work on the Switch because I have worked for 10 years, and I don't want to give that up. This brings in more money for Nintendo and will also bring Tomodachi Life, back to its former glory.

I had the game on my 3DS but then my 3DS just died without turning on and since I had to redo my room bc my sister moved out I lost the game, it will always be my favourite 3DS game, I've been saving my money (which is hard when I get one shift a week, for one shift means I get 40 something and if its a week end I get 50) I have 283 and the switch oled is on sale for 499 so I might be able to get it in may
If it happened I'd buy it day one and if it's gonna be on the next system I'll buy it just to play a new Tomodachi Life game

i recently started tomodachi life and it's such a silly and funny game, i really wish they'd make a switch version with some extra content. i now understand why it was so popular when it came out and i wish i had played it then!
I finally got my UK version of the 3DS so now I can play Tomodachi life. I’m so excited.
2:15 tbf all the games u mentioned were on the WiiU, which sold 13,5 million units, while the 3DS has sold more than 5 times than the WiiU with 75,9 million units.

Ever since Smash Ultimate trailers stopped and Miitopia was dropped, I've been begging Nintendo for Tomodachi at every direct. I've actually been surprised in how not-alone I am in this desire.

I would genuinely spend a fortune on a tomadochi life 2. I remember this game from my childhood but unfortunately lost a lot of my childhood stuff in a house fire, I don’t remember fully how good this game is.. I guess a part of me just wants some of my childhood back?
TomoDachi life was the first game I bought for my 3DS and I mean, come on, it's amazing. I would love to see a switch port. And hopefully that would show Nintendo that we WANT Miis. Do I think it will happen? I'm not sure. Will I be glad if he does? 100%. But I'm not gonna be disappointed if it doesn't either, at least not extremely disappointed. I think it's good to have hope, as long as you keep it in check so you don't get overly upset if it doesn't happen.

in my mind my insane theory is that they know they promised to add gay people but dont wanna deal with the inevitable controversy of either having them or not having them so they just dont make the game. the relationships in tomodachi life are a big focus, even more so than the implied romance in Miitopia... im probably wrong but maybe thats just part of it

I used to love playing both games and after years of not playing it I almost lost hope for their return on the switch... until a few years ago Nintendo released an upgraded version of Miitopia for the switch that literally EVERYONE loved.
I don't get why they haven't done the same thing with Tomodachi Life! I mean, why would you give us hope with a similar game, and then not give us the game we are all waiting and asking for ;-;

•some of those low quality graphics still in there, but mostly high quality graphics.
•the same spherical hands (none of this sportmate shit).
•some sort of vocaloid type voice bank which is versatile, can be tweaked to anyone's liking and can create an even more uncanny human-like voice for the miis.
•those AMAZING personalisation features in the miitopia mii maker.
•more activities.
•job roles for teen/adult miis.
•a movie studio where you can animate your miis and make a film.
•a clothing design studio.
•mental health checks for miis.
•doctors/hospitals where YOU help the doctor heal a mii from their illness.
•a "cooking mama" type mini game.
•a pet store.
•family apartments instead of solo apartments for families (i found that kinda weird in the original game lol)
•a bigger island.
•newer places.
•scarily realistic interactions with the miis like with humans.
•choosing specific miis to die when those people in real life pass away.
•wedding arrangements.
•room personalisation.
•helping out with chores for some miis.
I'm half tempted to just "do it myself" and make a Tomodachi Life fan game, but then again Nintendo will Nintendo me 💀
