Having a look around and being taken on a drive in my friend’s new Nissan Leaf Shiro 40kwh.
Bought to replace an ageing Ford Focus to use on local journeys with 2 teenage boys.

Question about leasing. If not under a company scheme and for personal use/commuting, is it worthwhile leasing or buying outright?

It’s worth looking at all options. PCP finance can be good, because it guarantees a residual value equal to the final payment, so the car can be returned. The used car market for EVs is still in its infancy, and many private buyers are wary, so used EV prices tend to be low. Lease and PCP removes that issue for a buyer of a new car. There are many offers for private buyers of new and nearly new EVs, which could make buying a good option.
