  • How many charge stops will a Nissan Leaf need to do on a 400 km trip in the winter? Are there even that many Chademo DC chargers around on the roads to be able to make the trip without having to AC charge the battery?

I have a 2019 LEAF and in my experience you get there faster by going slower, I tend to drive about 90 km/h. We are in Canada so probably pretty similar conditions. I can easily drive 500 km in a day.

Ok, Sillekrog is working now, there are new chargers at Karusellen, after that I was lost, only driveing slower will keep the temp down, no more than 85-90 km/h, did you use ABRP to plan your trip? Our 2014 24 kWh Leaf averages 50 km/h going long distans. The Leaf is slow but reliable. I go 900 km in 18 hours once a year in summer time, it works fine, lots of stops to rest.

Hi Martin. Just took a look at the Circle K app and understood that the trip should work out fine, which it almost did except that I misjudged the first stint a bit. 50 km/h was about what I averaged in the winter. With the 40 kWh Leaf, it should average a bit higher speed in the summer but it is not really designed for long distance travel, it is more about Slow Turismo than Grand Turismo :-)

Eco-mode, yes. Heating on 16 deg C. Did not feel cold.
