I have a 1969 FORD 8000 . I remember going to get it with my grandfather and picking it out of a line up in a dealership.. We have used it for 25 years and still do till this day. The motor locked up due to coolant leaking from the sleeve. So last year we had the entire motor rebuilt and it purs like a kitten. It's a beast 💪 cool video thank you for this one !

The primary fuel filter bracket has a 5/16"bleed screw on the top of housing. The injector pump also has a bleed screw on the side of it also 5/16". Primer pump will pull fuel all the way from tank to bleed system. AL B.

There’s no doubt about it, you guys are tough and courageous. By putting yourself out there for everyone to watch and evaluate every move you make, not everyone could hold up to that constant scrutiny. Especially when no matter what machine your working on, there will be many out there who will know that specific model machine like they know the back of their hand and they just want to jump in there and let you know that they know. Nobody’s an expert on everything. Figuring out how it works and what’ wrong with it is the best part.

I worked on a local Dairy Farm in the Foothills of Western North Carolina in the early 70s as a 15-17 y/o for Mr. T.H. Wallace and I drove/operated his 8000 Ford many times including Disking over 1500 acres of corn stubble, and pulling 6 calves in a week, a week his farm hand, Calvin and I had convinced Mr Wallace and his wife to take a much needed, well deserved, vacation.
I remember that week well, and the sense of pride and accomplishment I felt maneuvering that huge 8000 Ford, while Calvin got to pilot Mr Wallace's New 9500 Ford complete with Enclosed Cab w Air Conditioning and radio, and milking over 150 cows twice a day !

One concept for you guy's - Air on truck. wow. How about making a hose break at the engine and pressurize the tank and run the water out. Then fix hose and add fuel. Just an idea but it sounds reasonable to me. Hank, I remember Positive Ground Cars. Pain. Glad they changed them all to Negative.

Basically the same engine was used in the 8600 and TW10 tractors, a good solid design and simple to work on. Those injector pumps need to be topped up with engine oil, the filler is a large bolt on the top of the pump and there a level bung on the side, if the pump runs dry it will lock up but usually once oil is put in they loosen up again... this course be your problem.

As for Marvels Mystery Oil, I love the stuff even though I haven't been using it as long as some others. If it's abandoned, no one wants it and they leave it to rust away and don't care about it. Why and how do you buy these things? If it's abandoned someone should be happy just to get rid of it.
