I grew up in Junkyards. Brings back great memories of Dad. He once cut a 1963 Rambler wagon in half with a double bladed axe and a hacksaw to take it to the junkyard in two half's in back of the 55 Ford F100
That is a 6V53. You can easily ID the 53 series because of the valve cover hold down screws are around the outside instead of in the middle like the 71 and 92 series. The 53s were also made in 3, 4 and 8 cylinders. Most were rated at 2800 RPM. There is no injection pump on any of the 2 stroke Detroits.
My Grandfather was wounded in WW2 and was sent home to work in the Bantam and Keep plant. It was switched over to Pullman Standard completely after the war was over and he retired from there in 1982. God bless and I will be sharing the video after the family and I finish enjoying it. Thanks for sharing your time and your work with us.

I don't care if you didn't get a runner. I just enjoy watching and listening to you two. All my working life has been around trucks. Still have an LTL9000. Great work. Take care you two.
That’s a dimmer switch. When they first moved the dimmer to the steering column I used to get my feet stuck in the steering wheel when I was trying to dim the lights!😂
@Hank, think of amperage as the volume of sand flowing onto a conveyor belt, and voltage is how fast the conveyor carrying that sand is running as the sand is flung from it's exit end.
Trev, from Queensland, Australia. Hey guys...keep up the good work...I enjoy watching you two at work...sorry, at play !!! I may be wrong, but I reckon the carrier engine is a 6V53, and putting out around 180 HP in standard form. Keep the vids coming...cheers...Trev.

Hi 👋 Hank and Wiley the button on the floor is used to make the head lights go from dim to bright lights I had a couple of car 🚗 and truck 🛻 with dimmer switches on the floor I think 🤔 the both of you can get it to run 🏃 you’ll have a great day
That button on the floor is the hi-lo light switch (dimmer switch). My question to you is do you know what the round metal thing is just above the dimmer switch is ? well the rubber is missing but it was a bulb pump (like a primer pump on a lawn mower) it sprayed fluid onto the windshield(s). 6V 92 Detroit The Detroit Diesel Series 92 is a two-stroke cycle, V-block diesel engine, produced with versions ranging from six to 16 cylinders. Hi there. I like your videos and i saw something in this one that i am very interested in. That toyota land cruise in that barn. I would like to know if there is anyway i can acquire it. Please let me know. Thank you.
Whenever you are in any older cab and you see a pull cable marked Emergency Stop it will always be Detroit powered. That cable will pull a trip that closes the air intake at the blower to kill the engine if the rack is stuck.
Dimmer switch for headlights. My 80 model F-100 has one. 2 strokes are tough but they will run

I see the guy put one of them six b-53s in a 71 Chevy pickup truck C10 had to obviously beef up the front end but man it sounded good
