@@lefthandedsurgeon Sir I had disc prolapse 5 years ago. I love surgery as a branch. But while assisting or bending forward I get back pain which radiates to legs.
How grave is this as a problem to take up surgery?

Absolutely sir. Instant Gratification is all i want as a Medico, coz lol I don't hv patience like a Physician who would follow up pts for years. And Surgery gives me that Instant Gratification of having done something valuable for the patient.

Sir, I agree with all your points. But the point regarding replacement by AI , keeping in mind the current scenario of development of AI, if Medical Branches can be replaced by AI robots, Surgical branches can also be replaced by AI autonomous robots with much higher accuracy and less complication, sooner or later .
I am scared to my core.. Due to all negativity people indirectly put into me about surgery and being a woman..! But listening to your calm advise quite soothed me. Thank you Sir.

Thank you so much sir. I was the first one to hold the scalpel in the dissection hall the very first day of medical college. And that was the moment when I decided I wanted to be a surgeon. I heard many things like females can't be good surgeons, or there is a lot of traumatic atmosphere in there, or there will be no family life and satisfaction. But now I want to be a general surgeon only. I believe that I have a good visual and episodic memory and I can do very well in this field. ⚕️
