Really nice to see you enjoying days out exploring in the Britsih countryside and get some insight into what' it's like to go detecting and digging. I do miss the weather, which adds to the adventure! I loved the laughter of finding a one pence piece from 1977. Makes you think about how it got there. It doesn't matter that you're not always digging up buried treasure but finding enjoyment in all the things in nature to be discovered, including fossils! Used to go fossil hunting along the banks of the River Severn (Whale Warf). Always found fossilized shells. Love the castles too. II hope my kids get to experience it one day.

    Plan A - scrubbed, Plan B - scrubbed
    Plan C (alternate)...success.
Lesson for life... Plan ahead, but have alternatives pre-planned, as well,
...and "fill the unforgiving minute with 60 seconds worth of distance run" (Kipling)...
This is a good lesson in life, Dawn...not only for detectorists. Well done, all !!!
    Salute, from Florida, USA.

Hi Digger and Dawn, like the video and even though I’m not a metal detector’ist myself, a exceedingly long time ago when I was a little lad, my mum and Dad invested in a cheap detector and while on holidays down south we spent hours upon hours around coves and beaches etc. we had a good amount of early h’pennys and pennies too, a few six pennies then decimalised monies with a gold ring thrown in. I did enjoy it. Anyway all the best from sunny Lancashire (well just in greater Manchester BUT to me it will always be Lancashire, on the edge of Bolton). P keep detecting and Digger keep Digging, Phil
