Thank God They never cast Katie Holmes as Piper. Katie Holmes wouldn't believable in a Prison role. We needed Actresses that weren't overly Hollywood famous to play these roles to make them truly credible. Taylor Schilling was very believable because She wasn't over the top famous. This show wouldn't have done as well if Katie Holmes had taken the role.
Not sure why the real Alex Vause would assume anyone would think it was her considering the glasses was the only similarity and the moving drugs part... no one would have connected her to the character over some fuckin glasses
And Martha Stewart's name was even in Kerman's book. She was incarcerated around the time Stewart was convicted and there were rumors that she might've been assigned to the same prison. She wasn't but it was definitely part of the original story.

Okay here's the thing, Piper is not all fragile and lost. She has a fire inside of her that gets her into bad and good situations. She's most definitely passionate, that's strength itself. No one could've portrayed Piper better than Taylor Schilling. She's a brilliant actress. I can't believe she was only nominated once for an Emmy for this role, and she didn't even win it.

I have just finished watching the final season! Wow! So many subjects in the last season! Great writing and acting! The previous 2 to 3 seasons were lack lustre and did not have the power driven dynamics of the first few seasons. After watching the last season I think they should extend it for a couple more. Or have a shoot off from it! But thanks great entertainment all! Xx
