Yeah, funny that they want to pretend that with all that makeup is "real life". Frankly, I think it was for the best they used somewhat unattractive women for the show. Because I doubt many of the women in prison look like Diane Guerrero, the only truly attractive one in the cast. (She's as dingy in real life as she is in the show, so it's a good thing for her that she has her looks.)

Well no surprise there, I mean she was my favourite in season 1 but that's because the story then basically revolved around her, but beginning from season 2 the show turned to focus on the other characters and even though I still liked her my favourite character I'd say became Red

I was just thinking the same exact thing. Of course on their days off they look nothing like their characters on the show, they have to look glamorous on the red carpet they are stars so they look the part ,when they're at award ceremonies they where designer dresses or outfits they are after all actors so you know they have to look like the part or close to what a prisoner is expected to look like on a show about women in prison.
They miss out the actual "Real Life" of Nichols, which is pretty similar to her on screen life.. Like yeah, they look different; what a surprise; but Nichols is the only character where her character mirrors real life
