    Not even a GM guy but to see you guys take a brand new truck with no kits made for it and do what you have to do to make a customer happy is pretty cool!

      I would NOT say "Happy". This is an extremally dangerous mod. In fact, so dangerous GM has issued a warning against it.

    I love the new GMC AT4 edition, and the fact you can put a 2inch spacer on and get 4 inches of height compared to normal hight of a the base model SLE is awesome

      Blocks and spacers are a crappy way to level a truck. They ride like ish, and its bad for the front suspensions components.

    Do I need to get a new control arm for this, cause on the angle it is on, it looks like its not properly set for the ball joints on the 2” spacers ? So do I need to get an aftermarket control arms before installing the spacers ?

  • @69slednecks
    @69slednecks 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I'd definitely like to see how those upper ball joints are doing after a trips up and down the forestry roads ! I personally would probably try the ready lift level with bigger upper control arm a little more pricey but for 500 your upper ball joints wont be on such a angle.

    This is really old but anyone watching this make sure you replace your upper control arms on these. If you do not you have a good chance of loosing your wheel. The factory UCAs are snapping off on a lot of folks not replacing the UCAs. The factory arms were not designed to handle the angle of the added 2 inches of the level kit. Ready Lift makes an good complete kit.

      Quinn Allen I think it’s do able with uca and diff drops to be a lot less harmful I’d say upgrade to a 275/70r10 on stock suspension so you don’t run into the risk of fucking anything cause those trucks are uca are already on 2 inches of level 4 is pushing to to much, I have a 33x12.50r18 on a Tahoe Z71 and i barely rub on a leveling kit so it should be easier for you cause your wheels Wells are somewhat round

  • @4Cabin

    Operative word here is "stuff it in". Adding 2 inches of spacers on top of the 2 inch front factory lift on this truck is NOT GOOD AT ALL and ill advised. I wonder if this truck suffered a catastrophic front suspension failure or wrecked CVs yet? I hope not. Maybe the worn issues were caught before they broke.

    • @austinnett1655

      There is a GM doc specifically about AT4 front control arms are maxed out and should not be leveled or tampered with.

      @@austinnett1655 Agree 100%. You must change UCAs to increase front lift on the AT4/TB. Even before the GM warning, its so obvious looking at the pinched upper balljoint after leveling up. Its beyond me how any mechanic could look at that pinched joint and not raise the red flag.
