    • @samlott99
      @samlott99 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@bosnianbill You forgot to tell us in the video, what thickness is the Kwick Pick? .20, or .25???

    • @fiatmortem5128
      @fiatmortem5128 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@samlott99 The pick is made from .030". The tension wrench is 1/8" wide from .040 nickel-plated steel.
      I just wish they offered a hook option. I'll probably grind a spare pick from snake to hook.

    • @samlott99
      @samlott99 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@fiatmortem5128 I got an email from Dyno - like 8 years ago. they tell me it's .25, but I have checked with my calipers. About getting a hook for the Kwik Pick - I recently have become super impressed with the Sparrow's Tron. I had actually grinded a DeForest pick into a Tron like pick a few years ago by accident, and it became my favorite hook. If you like a Tron, you should be able to make something that will easily retract back into the Kwik Pick body. I don't care for "jack knife" multipicks. But I do like the Kwik Pick.

    Hello picking community. I just got my first set of picks yesterday. While I was waiting on them to get in I watched a dozen or so of your video's. I felt they gave me a good grasp on what was going on. The first day that I received the set I went to Walmart and got a Brinks standard security 161-30001 and a Brinks high security 161-40001. The set came with one of those clear plastic toy practice locks. After playing with them for hours I decided to do a timed run. Just by luck they nearly fell open on their own with a time for all three at 1 minute and 12 seconds. It might not ever happen again but I got lucky once. Anyway I just wanted to say thank you to Bosnianbill for all the knowledge and the effort it took to make that knowledge easily accessible for free, and thanks to all of his supporters that make this possible. Thank you all.

    holy s***! this was the first pick I owned. My father was a mechanic and had tool magazines lying around that I used to look through. I remember seeing this in one of them and I beg my mom to buy it for me. I think I was 12 or so. I lost it years back and couldn't remember the name of it. This brought back some great memories.

    I have had my Kwick Pick, very nice tool but the pick is bit thick. It would be better if it was a diamond, hook or bogota. You can use the tension tool as a clip but I advise against it as if you if you don't tighten the end which holds it, you could lose the tension tool. The pick locks in place well as does the tension tool aside from what I previously stated. Feels a bit strange when using it but you get use to that. I have been meaning to put a bogota on mine
    Mine shows years of worn and use but has never broke and nothing has been replaced. Opened several Kwikset and Schlage locks over the years.
    I bought a multitool with maglite holder leather kit, I cut a slot in the maglite holder so my Kwick Pick is always on my belt.
    I'll show it in my next video along with my picksets
    .

    • @dont4get2Bawesome
      @dont4get2Bawesome 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      How easy is it to change the picks out? It would be very convenient to be able to carry just that kit and then a couple of inserts and have all kinds of picks for all kinds of different locks.

    • @rallock67
      @rallock67 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Sam Atwell , pick is easy to change but not very covenant. You have to remove the end and than remove a small screw holding the pick. You could easily lose the small screw. The end will loosen and fall off if taken off and on a lot.

    I am a professional locksmith and I have one of these. I really do love it. I have though already broken and replaced the tips 3 times already in a span of a year or so. I do feel they are a little weak. What I have done to fix that because I was tired of replacing them and with the wait and money. I took out an old black steel HPC snake rake. Drilled the rivets and pulled it apart. I cut it and filed it down to fit perfect inside the kwick pick. Year so far and no problems we accept the screw just fell out 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 great video bill
