    4:13 I believe that's vegetable cutlet, which is very common mixed with spices and veggies. Personally, I've never been on a 16 hours long flight. The longest I've traveled was from Bengaluru to Colombo to Kuwait via Dubai onboard Sri Lankan airline, and the food was pretty awesome and great. When it comes to in-flight meals, I always prefer orange juice because it tastes so good and it's prevents nausea and sickness, food is in moderation either vegetarian or non vegetarian and ends with dessert and coffee with milk creamer. I love this video as it reminds me of flying and enjoying onboard in-flight entertainment and relaxation. Love this video and a big, big thumbs-up 😊.

      Orange juice always tastes good on flights!
      I like it too. The entertainment on this flight wasn’t as amazing as the return flight. The other flight had a remote and a better Isb charger. 😁

      @grrrltraveler orange juice on any flights is always my favourite beverage as it's relaxing and refreshing. In-flight entertainment in the mid-90s and early 2000s was like a big deal, mainly it used to show reruns of old TV shows and movies depending on the flight destination. I still remember some songs in my mind, which reminded me of my time flying when I was in school.

    Emirates is on my list as carriers to try as well as the A380. Kudos to you for a 5 hour flight to a 16 to another 5!

      Definitely try it if you get the chance! Emirates is the best I’ve experienced so far! But do it on the Airbus. I don’t know how the smaller crafts would fare.
      Qatar Air I booked an Dreamliner? But they gave me a 777 and it was the worst.
      In my blog post Emirates has a free stopover in Dubai- as it’s the hub- and in transit hotel if you qualify.
      Pakistan was equally long. But I think it still fell under 36 hours with layover.

    I have loved my flying experiences with Emirates. They are a consistently excellent carrier from reservations through the flying experience. They are a bit more expensive than other comparable carriers, but well worth the price. An A+ carrier that provides an outstanding long haul flight.

    • @fan.80s_90s
      @fan.80s_90s 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @grrrltraveler it depends on the caterers as the food provided was from San Francisco aviation catering company and approved by Emirates. Falafel should be eaten immediately, fresh and hot, not in a warm container as it could lose its freshness and taste, ending up being dry.

    Wouldn't it have been a shorter distance to fly from Honolulu in the other direction towards Asia?

    • @grrrltraveler
      @grrrltraveler  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Not necessarily. In the past I’ve had a 36hr route w China eastern- it became 2 TH-cam videos.
      Very last minute booking for a conference so time constraints, popped up middle eastern routes over Asia ones.
      Nepal, India, Pakistan are never straight shots for me, even on the Asia side.
      This flight also ended up costing $3400 due to the last minute specificity of dates. But it was the cheapest and thankfully handled by the conference

      @@grrrltraveler On a random side note, the 36hr flight w China Eastern was the first video I watched from your channel and then subscribed a few years ago. I love the music you added to those 2 videos. I look back and watch it time to time.

      @@grrrltraveler I was going from JFK to Milan years ago. I have a touchy stomach to begin with, so it might have just been me. When I contacted the airline they said there was no evidence of food poisoning on that flight. I special ordered a veggie meal, so who knows if anyone else even ate the same food. It didn't happen on the way home, thank goodness.

      @grrrltraveler most flights do cross into Russian airspace and then towards Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Kazakhstan, mainly Central Asia and then towards Iran. So, such flights to Dubai have to cross from San Francisco into Canada, then make a big right turn heading towards Russian airspace towards Central Asia, into Iran, and then into Dubai.

    Emirates economy with 3-4-3 configuration on A380 is not any better than most other airlines. It is however famous for its 1st class cabin with in-flight shower. Is only a 15min shower, but who doesn't want a refreshing shower on a long haul flight.

    • @grrrltraveler
      @grrrltraveler  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Wow a shower sounds nice. Im assuming they supply towels?
      Disagree. The 380 is wider seats so the middle guy next to me was comfy- good wiggle room to store belongings. more leg room tooo. Written review I’d in description box. The 380s are the new premium aircraft 😊

    • @joyjoy534
      @joyjoy534 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@grrrltraveler They supply everything, including onboard pjs. I just checked on the Emirates economy class, 18" for width and 32-34 for pitch. That's not the best, just better than average. Asiana has 18.9/33 on their A380-900, JAL offers 18.5 to 19/34 on their Boeing 767-300ER. Qatar has 18.5/32 on their A380. Cathay Pacific has 18.5 wide seats too. You are probably used to the 17" US carriers' economy seats. Cramped seats and poor FA services are what make people hate flying US carriers.

    My dear poor woman, you and I made the same blunder... before travelling and connecting at SFO did you think to go the website(s) and look at terminal maps? Nooooooooo! I'm guilty of that. In 2009 I flew out of Heathrow Terminal 5. Nobody told me there were satellite terminals. There were no maps. There was nobody who could show me where the inter-terminal trams were. Nobody, not at check in, security, NOBODY, could tell me how to get to them. To this day I'm still hacked off.
