Thank you for bringing us more magnificent mainline trains. These coal trains are impressively long and the diesel locomotives seem to be very reliable at their work. I believe that Australia has some fully automated freight trains which is certainly an interesting concept. One can understand the reason for suspension at the time of the midday sun as there would be a risk of the tracks buckling and derailments happening as a result thereof. At least you will be able to take time away from the sun as there would be a risk in a real way of getting sunstroke in the temperatures that you formerly mentioned. Do be careful out there!

No problem! Australia’s automated freight trains operate in northern Western Australia, the other side of the country from Queensland and much larger than Queensland’s as they operate on Standard Gauge (4ft 8 1/2in) if I remember correctly! Very impressive for sure. Heatstroke is definitely a risk Trainspotting in Summer sometimes, but luckily I know how to manage myself. Thanks for your comment and concern!

Thank you, I hope you have a great new year too! Luckily my place and family wasn’t badly affected by Cyclone Jasper, very grateful for that.
