Thank you! You must be a Bundaberg resident then? I’m pretty sure they are the first to finish up this season.

As the driver of 8/9 that you were following for this video, great job dude.
Hope I didn't send too much dust at you.

Thank you! No worries; the dust was fine and being showered in dust is a part of the sugarcane trainspotting hobby to begin with! 😆

Are the shutting trains (8 & 9) under remote control? I noticed there was no one in the cabs, and the shuntter does not seem to be using a radio to communicate with the engines.

Yes, they are under remote control. Almost all of South Johnstone and Mulgrave’s rebuilds into the yellow and green livery have remote control technology equipped where the driver can control the locomotives outside of the cab with a controller. For the sugarcane train industry it’s very useful for when you have to shunt around blind corners or areas where you can’t see what is behind or in front of you.

Thank you very much for this very interesting and informative video presentation for which I am very grateful. These cane trains are impressively fast and long and the trackwork is in very good condition. You chose a most pleasant day for taking these videos and the countryside looks lovely also. We are very grateful to you for recording these sugar cane trains. In this country we grow sugar beet but it is not grown as widely as it once was and it has not been transported by train for many years. We have opposite weather to you as it is now becoming colder and we have started to get frosts now. Your videos are fascinating and are of immense interest and value to us and we appreciate how well you produce these videos. Magnificent!

Thank you so much! I’m glad to hear you enjoyed the video. Australia’s sugarcane trains truly are a unique piece of the railway scene!

@@thecairnsrailfan We hope that you may be able to do some other videos while the cane trains are finished but if you are unable to do so we will most certainly understand, especially with it becoming so hot in Australia.

@@johnsmart964 Thank you for your concerns! I do have some plans. I want to get more of the Spirit of Queensland as I have barely covered it before on this channel and it deserves a dedicated video. Hopefully shouldn’t be too difficult to see in hot weather as there probably won’t be much chasing involved due to it’s speed. I will probably just record it a few different spots on different days.
I’m also returning to Dalby later in the year so there’s some hope there for southwest Queensland rail action, a much different scene compared to Cairns. However that all depends on my luck and what train scheduling is like around then.
And once the fire ban is over in North Queensland, hopefully I can get to covering the Atherton-Herberton Historic Railway again as it’s changed a lot compared to what I captured of the railway a year ago now.
Other than that though it may get a bit quiet without cane trains to supply me with constant action!

Good video, next one make sure your audio isn't set to one side, was listening on headphones it only came out of the left side!
Don't stress too much I've made that mistake too

      Thank you!
I’m a little bit confused though, as for me audio comes out both sides of my earphones? I’ll see if I can look into it some more but for now I’m not experiencing any problems on my end. Thank you for letting me know about it though!
