  • If you're looking for the best soccer camera for your team here's a look at game footage from the Trace camera, Pixellot Air, and Veo 2 camera.
    We recorded a high school soccer game, it was in the late afternoon after school so there are clips during the daylight and also at night under the lights. The game had several goals, this video shows you a clip of the same goal at dusk from all 3 cameras.
    Then we share a clip of a goal in the 2nd half at night under the lights. We show you the goal recorded by Trace, Pixellot, and Veo.
    All three cameras were at mid-field on the player side. The Veo camera is up about 20 feet on a tripod because we were using that footage for tactical analysis and we were also livestreaming the game. We used the tripod that comes with the Trace for the Trace camera and we had 12 ft Manfrotto tripod for the Pixellot camera.
    After the goals we share how we created and downloaded the goal highlights inside the Veo Editor, the Pixellot You site, and the Trace website.
    Lastly we show you the first minute of the first and the first minute of the 2nd half recorded by all 3 cameras.

      My solution has been to pull it into a video editor and delete/mute/reduce gain on the audio track. But yeah the ability to mute during recording would be awesome

    From this comparison the Veo camera has the best and sharpest image quality, and also the tracking and the video editor seems better then others. The downsides is that it still has some stutters and movement blur but i think it has improved quite a bit from the first Veo 2 recordings.
    This video alone is probably enough to confirm that my selection was good - my Veo camera arrived yesterday:)

      Customer service with Veo is a nightmare... email only for subscription, phone number and chat for tech support and there's none of them work together so you have to start over every time and they can't get you someone to help you outside their specific area of expertise.

      I don't now... but to me Pixellot is the sharpest and has better quality, Trace video looks washed out, Veo has too much saturation. We are using Trace right now. We might try other camera, but I heard they don't have as great cusotmer support compared to Trace.

    • @EasySportsVideo
      @EasySportsVideo  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Pat, a lot of the automated camera systems use some kind of a plan. There is one that doesn't do any processing of the video since it manually moves the camera, vs recording and processing it afterwards/during. This one doesn't have a recurring plan - soccerstripes.com/veo-camera-vs-pix4team-soccer/

    • @patstraka6326
      @patstraka6326 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@EasySportsVideo Yeah, many come with the subscription option which is lame. I just want a VEO style cam that records the game and leaves the RAW video file for me to edit. If I want it to send stuff to the cloud, edit, analyze it or stream the game, then for sure, subscription plan for that makes sense. Otherwise, I'm not interesting. Yes the Pix4Team exists, but as seen on your video example of it, the Pix4Team is pretty bad. I'll just wait for a VEO competitor to come out that records same quality like it but comes with no subscription. As this tech keeps improving and more competition grows, then I'm sure we'll eventually get that in the future.

    How many sandbags are you using when setting up on turf? Are you using the rope at with turf fields?

    • @EasySportsVideo

      I typically just use the one big sandbag that came with the 23 ft tripod. If it's really windy I'll keep the camera lower and use 2 sandbags. If you use the windkit on a turf field you can bring along 3 extra sandbags and tie the lines to those. I have a video coming out on that soon.

      I got a Pixellot when it first came out and it had some tracking issues then. However, the Veo had tracking issues when I first started using it back in 2019 as well. I think for the cameras that do the tracking after the fact (not real time) where the AI analyzes the footage and follows the ball they continue to get better the longer the camera is on the market and the more games they record (or at least that should be the expectation).

    Why didn't the Tracers work? That seems like Trace's differentiator...if it works. The hassle of managing the extra hardware aside. I haven't done a comprehensive cost compare yet. They each have features that are add-ons that can impact the total cost. For example Veo has live streaming and Trace has something called TraceID. I don't know the pricing of the Hudl Flex Focus yet, its still on rolling out to the big clubs right now it seems. Each one also an annual subscription that can vary depending on how you use it. And the Pixellot and Veo you buy the camera but with Trace its more of a lease. So an apples to apples price comparison isn't straight forward. None of them are cheap : ) I am evaluating other options for teams that want to capture sports videos and these camera systems dont fit their budget.
