    I just received this as a gift for Mother's Day!!! Totally excited about!! I set it out two days ago anxiously waiting... however my birds are still going to the other feeders so I guess I have to wait for all the other feeders to empty out! LOL 😆
    I found setup to be super easy! However that may have been because I already had the app-as I have two security cameras from Netvue.
    Thank you so much for this review and your garden is absolutely fantabulistic!!!!
    Blessings!!

    Love the birdfeeder camera! We have trail cameras on our property and they capture great images of elk, deer, coyotes and raccoons that pass through. Even got a shot of a Great Horned owl one night. I have bird feeders, too, and have a suggestion. Many birds don't eat the millet seed and will kick it out of the feeder onto the ground. That food will attract mice and rats in addition to the squirrels. Black oil sunflower seed is a favorite for many birds and there will be less waste. Bark Butter Bits (suet) are a great addition for winter bird feeding and would fit well in your new feeder.

      Same - we have one at our cottage and see bears, wolves, foxes, deer. We also have a driveway alarm. Last weekend, the alarm went off continuously for a bit. When we checked it, the screen was shattered. Shortly after that, the trail cam screen was shattered too. The video showed a blue jay pecking it to death!!!

    Thanks for the review! 🙌 While I appreciate the insights, I've had quite a different experience with Birdfy. Spent $500+, faced lens issues, got DOA replacements, and now told it's 'too expensive' for a 3rd replacement. NO WORKING feeders after 4 months. Ghosted by support, my trust is shattered. They're not honoring the warranty, and they told me to go to Amazon for a refund, but the return period expired during the 4 months I was waiting on a functional replacement. Two months of a working feeder isn't worth it. Just sharing my experience. #NetvueBirdfeederIssues #CustomerServiceFail #DOAWarrantyReplacements

    Try using hot pepper bird feed from WBU. Squirrels won’t eat it. We’ve been using the no mess feed for several years. Happy Birding!

      Oh please don't do that. Just feed the squirrels on purpose. They're hungry and freezing outside. I saw my squirrel eating and wiping his eyes because he got hot pepper in his eyes. It's cruel. He's still going to be hungry and needs to eat.
      Ever since that day when I saw he was suffering from hot pepper in his eyes, I've never bought that product again.
      Just make them a peanut butter sandwich and cut it into tiny pieces. And feed cheap bird food on the ground for the squirrels, or wherever they show up the most.
      Be kind. ♥️ Treat animals the way that you would want to be treated. 🍀🍀🍀

      What I do is take the micro SD card out of the device and plug it in to my laptop (via a converter) and handle the files there. There is also a way to view them over wifi through the app and download them, but I don't recall the instructions, sorry.

    How is the feeder attached to post?

    • @mimihalligan4141
      @mimihalligan4141 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It comes with a bracket that you screw onto post or fence. But there’s different ways to attach it to poles too. They give you a long Velcro strap(for a tree I guess) but also different clamps. That’s what I used. Threaded the clamp thru spots on back of feeder onto a 1” pole. Worked great. I love mine.

      It pairs via wifi, not bluetooth. Mine is installed probably at the limit of a strong wifi signal... it woudl be better if I moved it closer, but it does ok where it is.

    You didn’t mention in your “easy” setup the issues with SD card. You didn’t even show placing one in the camera. Our setup was not easy. The camera kept saying the SD card needs to be formatted. Followed all online instructions and it would get to 94% formatted then gave a message “failed to format.” No online help helped.. still waiting feedback to remedy this.
    Another issue was scanning the QR code for setup. It is placed on the bottom of the camera and the camera came already installed in the feeder. What a nightmare to get to it. Not happy with this product’s setup.

    • @HarmonyHillsHomeandGarden
      @HarmonyHillsHomeandGarden  ปีที่แล้ว

      I didn't have any of those problems, I'm sorry to hear that you did. I don't use an SD card in mine. I have it connected to the wifi and it stores its videos to the cloud. Good luck, hope you can resolve the problems quickly and easily.

    It was quite a bit more complicated to set up. You don't go through the app at all. No mention of taking photos of the QR code, etc. Did you not have to do any of that? I was so excited to receive mine, but after three days of connectivity, it will no longer connect. The manual is not helpful at all (hence my journey to the web to find help...and finding this video). Just a few realities for those who might be considering this camera. It isn't quite as easy as it appears on this video.

      I have tried the hot pepper, and it really doesn't work to keep the squirrels off of the feeders, at least in my area. We are a 100+ year old neighborhood with 100+ year old fully mature trees (40, 50, even 75 or more feet tall). Our squirrel population is HUGE!!!!! I have just come to accept that the squirrels are a part of our garden, and to try to avoid them on the feeders is impossible.

  • @materto2
    @materto2 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Their ai program is a joke. It thinks that squirrels are brown headed cowbirds, eastern bluebirds, ducks, robins, or sparrows.
