I just received this as an early Christmas Present! I’m going to put in on an 8 foot pressure treaded 4x4 pole. We have some big winds down here in Florida! I have already down loaded the app and set up the camera. It’s set up on our Wi-Fi network and ready for some bird watching. Thanks for the recommendation of turning notifications off. We have bird feeders everywhere and a couple bird baths, however I am sure it won’t take long for this one to become a favorite!
"Big winds"....yeah, I would say so!! Great to hear you are so looking forward to your new feeder installation...it's so fun to watch the birds! I would recommend you include some sort of squirrel-baffle ... or whatever critters you have in your area.
An interesting product and a lot of fun to see how many species you get - and how active they are. The premium bamboo model looks to be worthy of the extra cost.
There's no SD card. Everything goes to the cloud, which you are accessing via the app. I recommend you carefully choose the direction the camera is pointing.
Off topic question. To you need to put out safety cones for the advanced flight review and if so how far apart do they need to be. I’m not finding this info anywhere
Fantastic review Don. Although we did not have this particular feeder, we unfortunately had to take our bird feeder down as it attracted rats. However while it was up it was fabulous to watch the birds.
Yay.... love the Blue Jays 💙 we have a few that visit frequently in our yard.... (and talking to my feathered friends is what got me into this really nice sanctuary with a neat tight jacket in a small room) 😂❤🤡
Was hoping it would have a "smart door" that would only open for the bird species you select (and be strong enough to withstand any other assault! - talking to you racoons!). Now that would be something.
very nice don ,i have 3d printed one like that i put a waze cam in ,, bud do you have a email anymore ?? trying to find it ,, got a buddy wants to ask you a few quesitons ?
What a great setup! A must have for backyard bird watchers
It's very cool! Thanks for watching, Barb!
Looks like a wonderful product for bird enthusiasts. Glad you mentioned about sharing the app with shut ins what a great idea!!
Thanks, Joy! Yes the sharing is cool....as long as you're comfortable sharing whatever else is in view of the camera!
This is my first time seeing an explanation of a bird observation camera.
It was very easy to understand and helpful👍
Glad it was helpful!
Hi Don, as usual you are making a video in a professional way, clear, clean and useful and helpful
Thanks, Ale!

I totally agree, Mike!
Is there a way to record without having your privacy invaded? IOW's, can I take the SD card out without being on Wifi? Or without using the App?

I have an SD slot in the one I just got for Christmas. Thanks anyway.

Lmao! That certainly is off topic! You do not need traffic cones. Here are some practical things to do: th-cam.com/video/laits957XG0/w-d-xo.html

Yikes! Rats would be bad for sure! My squirrels, chipmunks and rabbits are doing a good job clearing up the spillage on the ground.
That's one smart bird feeder, would be a good way to find out what species are eating all the bird feed I leave out. 😭
Yes, it's very cool!

Haha!
We have had ours for about a year. We have no problems; however it does misidentify a lot.
Cool! Yes, it does mis identify a fair bit, buts fairly easy to ignore the occasional funny sightings!
Wow that's a very cool product. Like # 38!!!
It really is cool!
So nice
Thanks
Thanks for editing in a "pants-on" version of your selfie!
Lol...a bit of AI never hurts, eh?!
If it was really smart it would also clean up the mess that the birds leave on your deck.
Haha...great idea!

LOL...that would be a cool additional feature for those needing to express their dominance!
