DK is always charmingly naive. "Why don't the different subfactions of this group work together? They'd get so much done!" Why don't we do that in real life, my dude? (As for why different Tyranid hive fleets fight each other: I always assumed they were like different ant colonies. Sure, ants are a 'hive mind' dedicated to the prosperity of their colony. That doesn't mean that they want *other* colonies prospering.)
the hive fleets fight to test their theoretical with the practical, as gilliman would say your plan of evolution might be good enough to conquer weak humans, but is it the best so fight and find out wich one really is the strongest, wich submind has the best plans, who adapts the best or the fastest and then the winner gets all the genetics and tried mutations of the loser to use for their proven to be better plans deliberate natural selection nothing is lost except carbs
the tyranid hive fleets dont fight each other tho? and leviathan and kronos do work together. because each hive fleet is part of the same greater hivemind, there arnt different hive minds. think of it as different breeds of tyranid that carry mutually exclusive mutations to see which has a better chance of adapting to the beings in this galaxy through natural selection on a cosmic scale
@@voltix54 but they sometimes do tho? It is stated in the codex that "different hive fleets have been observed competing with each other over biomass", and I highly doubt that that includes arguing over who takes what

I gotta say that Genestealers are my favorite Xenos faction cause they look amazing. Also Femboy Thousand Son is a gift from the Changer of Ways that I would love to get.
I've read two 40k novels that touch on this. One's a spoiler for the book and one isn't. The one that isn't is in Cult of the Spiral Dawn - the prologue has a Sisters outpost wiped out by a fledgling cult, aided by a sister that they were able to indoctrinate (the process of choosing her is described as psychically probing the minds of the sister to find one with weaknesses or doubts), who is later regarded as a saint within the cult. The one that is a SPOILER is in the epilogue of Cult of the Warmason. The sister leader who is the main character of the novel is revealed to have been secretly indoctrinated during her final showdown with the patriarch (or possibly when she survived a genestealer uprising in her childhood, it's vague and alluded to during a bout of hypnotic hallucinations). Tldr: yes they can, but it seems like people with stronger wills and unshakable faith are harder to indoctrinate into the cult.
When my bestie said: "Together we need to overthrow the patriarchy!" I suspected she must be in a cult, but now it all makes much more sense to me, thank you ❤
So the GeneStealers on Terra where not in the Palace at all the Deathwatch found a Hive of them and the Custodes cleared the entire cult losing a Dozen Custodes for the millions of GeneStealers they destroyed.
27:51 And lo the four-armed Emperor proclaimed, "Let there be bitches and hoes!" _The female Genestealer Magus pops into existence_ And deliver he did.
In the end we’re all fleshbags and as everything else we shall rust and die (Also the rust magus is from the rusted claw and their symbol is supposed to represent the eternal rust that will eventually claim the cog of the imperium) Ps: the rusted claw have worked together with the bladed cog to make special plastic containers to transport the magus that rusted everything without destroying the ship they were using
I also grew up with the live action Inspector Gadget movie, there was a second one too that decided to obscure Claw's face even though they already showed it in the first one, then they replaced the love interest with a robot cop lady
Just wanted to come back and say I finally got to reference something I learned from watching this channel while playing Necromunda. The Bladed Cog genestealers cult makes an appearance in Hired Gun and I was totally like, "Hey, Adeptus Ridiculous just covered these guys!" Top tier work, guys 👍

I think the hips thing with female genestealer cultists has something to do with the idea which was in the past. Like when mothers depicted in art had large foreheads and wide hips. That meant those could produce more babies, since back in the day death during the child birth was rather common.
You guys should totally talk about the behemoid undercult, last time I checked I believe they worship old one eye to the point where they cut one of their own eyes out in tribute to the Old carnifex
The Hive faction genestealers are some of my favorite. Mostly because of their seeming appearance in one of the Commisar Cain books. Namely they had infiltrated a PDF rebellion that had 'broken' apart into multiple mini rebellions all to dope the planetary leaders into getting all of their forces ready for one massive attack that only with the help of Cain and the local Plantary Governor's daughter managed to see through and undermine. Also on an unrelated note that Governor's daughter became infatuated with Cain and tried her damnest to get him to marry her. So much so that when he made up an excuse to go with some Space Marines on a mission she sneaked into his chamber to go with him.
How about the mini storys about cain and his arbites GF going to the local pleasure den and it was a genestealer cult and they ran away to the precinct house and two guardsman who were infected blew up the defences? Creepy asf. Or when cain had to execute two troopers who got infected by a cult
@@thatromanfella8377 Forgot that one. Though that would clearly not be Hive Genestealers. That whole city nearly fell and it was literally Cain's dumb luck that got him to uncover that cult. That last one was most certainly interesting and is in the book that was apart of their book club.
I've done it! Behold! The Ordos Misterius! The best sleuths in the entire Imperium. Their leader is Inquisitor Fredrick. He was a dropout from the Adeptus Mechanicus as he discovered through several months of undercover investigations that the Magos was consorting with the Dark mechanicus to unleash an Abominable Intelligence onto the forge world of Bara 5. He fulfilled his duty to the Emperor by foiling the heretics schemes by not only destroying the A.I but also utilizing his talents in traps and Sabotage to incapacitate all involved without even spilling a drop of both his blood or the Heretics ensuring that they faced the full wrath of the Adeptus ministorum. In honor of his achievements he was made an Inquisitor and now utilizes those same skills to serve the Imperium. He is a blonde man with a right blue eye and a red eye prosthetic wearing a white version of the inquisitor uniform accented by an orange ascot. His right arm is a cybernetic that can open to reveal all the tools he may need to make his famous Goldberg traps. Personality wise he is quite kind if not a tad bit obsessed with traps. But be warned, for he is not soft nor naive and if you gain his ire your next bathroom break will become your own Goldberg Execution chamber. His second in Command is the lovely Daphne. She is a beauty wearing a purple skin tight bodysuit with flowing orange hair, ruby lips, skin like porcelain, and mechanical antenne prosthetics to replace her missing ears that are the only thing marring her lithe hourglass figure. She was a slave gladiator fighting for the pleasure of a planetary govenor who enjoyed forcefully augmenting his gladiators and having the fight both Xenos and beasts. She was the current champion with 99 victories to her name. She had lost her ears on her 95th win and the cybernetics allows her to both retrieve and send vox signals that the governor would use torture her via playing loud noises every night. But the Governor got bored of her constant victories so he made the brilliant decision to import a Pskyer who had a strange 8 pointed start tattooed onto him. During the following Daemonic incursion Fredrick, who had begun investigating the Govenor for possible connections to the slaver Dark Eldar found himself keeping a fortified position in the slave pens as they ironically enough, were the safest place on the planet due to them being made to hold all sorts of powerful creatures. He heard a vent cover fall and barely managed to survive Daphne's descending drop kick that would of surely knocked his head off his shoulders. The heavily injured Daphne who was at Ground Zero of the incursion since the Psyker was her opponent before he went nuclear, fell into the rope trap set by fredrick beneath the vent and was promptly captured. She expected him to kill her but no, he didn't. She was the first non Daemon he had seen in hours and desperate for both info and backup, released her on the condition of her using her ears to call for help. It took 2 days before the Incursion was stopped and they were rescued and Daphne has stayed by his side ever since. It is an open secret that they are a couple but HOW they became such in just 2 days is a topic of great interest among their peers. Daphne is cold and very judgmental, never wasting an opportunity to point out the flaws of everyone around her but when it comes to her team and ESPECIALLY Fredrick she is warm and a bit of a scatterbrain. The third member is the Astropath Velma who joined due to her incessant habit of snooping around led her, Fredrick, and Daphne fleeing from an Orc WAAGH in the spaceship equivalent of a Dumpster the first time they met. She has short brown hair, pale skin, and a pear shaped figure. She dresses in an orange dress and over her eyes is a special set of Spectacles that allows her to see but they often fall off resulting in her on her hands and knees grasping around for them. Personally wise she is filled to the brim with Curiosity and between her staggering intellect and her incredible powers of deduction Fredrick eagerly recruited her to the team. The last two members are always together so they will share an entry. Shaggy and his Great Dane Scooby Doo are both cowards and gluttons always looking for something to munch on. Shaggy is a thin , brown haired man with stubble on his chin wearing a green shirt and brown pants. Scooby Doo is a talking brown great Dane wearing a collar with Inquisitor seal hanging off it. They were the last members of the team to be recruited and it was for a very simple reason. Shaggy is a chef and they wanted something good to eat out in the field. They stayed behind in the ship during missions for the first 3 months Until one day the pair left to buy groceries and by complete accident stumbled acros a Genestealer cult and escaped unscathed bearing crucial information which the team used to save the entire world. Ever since then the pair has been dragged along on missions against their will and the team's success rate has remained at 99% Hmmm? Why can the dog talk? Well, he can't tell Shaggy what he wants to eat if he couldn't could he? Just don't think to hard about it. The Migraines and hallucinations about starving in a chair aren't worth it. Together these brave heroes travel the galaxy solving mysteries and saving humanity one case at a time.
Exactly what I needed in a trying time, you guys are the best. Im currently using alot of GS models in my new army to make up part of the Gueseva of my Tau mercenaries. The bikes and trucks make for an interesting mix, along with the infantry.
Is there a story where a chaos cult and a genestealer cult interact? It would be an interesting story as the Tyranids and Chaos Undivided where to fight each other for taking over the land they are in.
i feel like Bricky needs something good to hear for ones... 40k and Mtg have a collab, where Mtg gets 4 edh decks in Nids, Crons, Chaos and Imperium. Celestine is in the Imperium deck along with her random doves (on her artwork). now wanna ask for Raven Guard again because birds
I think DK forgets just how gargantuan the Imperial Palace actually is. Being its essentially continent sized and acts as though it were a wart on the side of an Ecumenopolis
One huge bonus the genestealers and their cults have over the Imperium is that they only need to worry about short term. Sure their plans are decades in the making but whats that compared to the endless centuries the Imperium wants to endure, or the hundreds of planets compared to a few hive cities that the cults gotta worry about

(As for why different Tyranid hive fleets fight each other: I always assumed they were like different ant colonies. Sure, ants are a 'hive mind' dedicated to the prosperity of their colony. That doesn't mean that they want *other* colonies prospering.)
the hive fleets fight to test their theoretical with the practical, as gilliman would say
your plan of evolution might be good enough to conquer weak humans, but is it the best
so fight and find out wich one really is the strongest, wich submind has the best plans, who adapts the best or the fastest
and then the winner gets all the genetics and tried mutations of the loser to use for their proven to be better plans
deliberate natural selection
nothing is lost except carbs
the tyranid hive fleets dont fight each other tho? and leviathan and kronos do work together. because each hive fleet is part of the same greater hivemind, there arnt different hive minds. think of it as different breeds of tyranid that carry mutually exclusive mutations to see which has a better chance of adapting to the beings in this galaxy through natural selection on a cosmic scale
That doesnt make sense, its been stated numerous times that all of them are one entity commqnded by one psychic thing
@@voltix54 but they sometimes do tho? It is stated in the codex that "different hive fleets have been observed competing with each other over biomass", and I highly doubt that that includes arguing over who takes what
@@marreh100 huh ya i guess the explanation that makes the most sense is if the tendrils we have now are testing probes to see which will evolve to be the most effective so if two meet they will consume the weaker one till the hivemind finds the perfect combination of genetics to eat this galaxy
Maybe a Dommy Mommy Magus Poster next?
Nah it's magnus NEET oneechan
I second this
"They got wide hips."
I mean, they're genestealers, why wouldn't they have some THICC XENO BREEDING HIPS?
Have you seen a purestrain Genestealer? That carapace needs a lot of room to squeeze out through...
Regardless of their subfactions; Genestealers will always have the best underground music.
Don't worry. We germans don't cringe at your pronounciation, we just rewatch the same 5 seconds 20 times to find out what you were trieing to say. Then we give up. I'm almost sure that you were talking dutch. Or some other fictional joke language.

Some of the cult members break free of the hive-minds manipulation once the Tyranids actually arrive. Its usually the most human like ones or those that were only recently given the genestealers kiss.

Fun Fact: if you play Deathwatch, you can field Ortan Cassius and his kill team. It’s not that good in the actual game, but the models look extraordinary.

Yep. That first story is disgusting!

Remember that they only sometimes get pulled from the Hive Mind. Really depends on how dickish it is feeling.
I gotta say that Genestealers are my favorite Xenos faction cause they look amazing.
Also Femboy Thousand Son is a gift from the Changer of Ways that I would love to get.
I REALLY want to see them cover the Soul Drinkers. One of the weirdest space marine chapters in 40k.

Sarpedon is one of the coolest chapter masters
Considering Bricky's love of sisters, I'm unsurprised he likes the Pauper Princes. Makes me wonder if a cult could actually infect them.
It's exceptionally rare and the imperium erases any record of such events to maintain the SoB's PR.
I think the first Genstealer Cult to be found was on Ichar IV at the start of The Second Tyrannic War, and they were called 'the brotherhood.'
Please for all that is good, ignore the bot.
When my bestie said: "Together we need to overthrow the patriarchy!" I suspected she must be in a cult, but now it all makes much more sense to me, thank you ❤
I love that the rusted claw fashioned their flag originally out of a nobleman’s cape (the noble is of course dead)
40:55
Rusted claws are the funniest just because of this philosophy joke
So the GeneStealers on Terra where not in the Palace at all the Deathwatch found a Hive of them and the Custodes cleared the entire cult losing a Dozen Custodes for the millions of GeneStealers they destroyed.
27:51 And lo the four-armed Emperor proclaimed, "Let there be bitches and hoes!"
_The female Genestealer Magus pops into existence_
And deliver he did.
Man, I really want that Poster but Holy Hell, USA shipping to UK it more than the Poster itself!
15:20 Imperial Fist Fred, Sister of Battle Daphne, Inquisitor Velma, Commissar Shaggy and Scooby the Cyber Mastiff
In the end we’re all fleshbags and as everything else we shall rust and die
(Also the rust magus is from the rusted claw and their symbol is supposed to represent the eternal rust that will eventually claim the cog of the imperium)
Ps: the rusted claw have worked together with the bladed cog to make special plastic containers to transport the magus that rusted everything without destroying the ship they were using
"At least in the Imperium you don't get turned into soup."
Sounds like somebody's never heard of Corpsestarch!
Just an FYI for my fellow Cultists, you can take a baneblade as brood brother detachment
I also grew up with the live action Inspector Gadget movie, there was a second one too that decided to obscure Claw's face even though they already showed it in the first one, then they replaced the love interest with a robot cop lady
I read Day of Ascension last week because I like the genestealer cult. I give it 5 out of 5
Bricky, getting a sponsor for a personal hygiene product, with an audience of tabletop game players.
You're doing the world a great service
Just wanted to come back and say I finally got to reference something I learned from watching this channel while playing Necromunda. The Bladed Cog genestealers cult makes an appearance in Hired Gun and I was totally like, "Hey, Adeptus Ridiculous just covered these guys!"
Top tier work, guys 👍
Bricky sounded so defeated when he mentioned the new poster. Also I thought Shy and DK said the next one after the Toxic one was going to be way worse. This ain't worse. This is tame compare to that.
Bricky: "I made poor decisions as a kid"

idk how many episodes I've watched from this channel. But I just realized that Bricky is in danger if someone had some body spray with all those candles next to his head.
What a birthday gift! My friend got me some more genestealer models to build, an episode about the genestealers, and the book club this month is a genestealer book. This is great, how did you guys know just what I wanted?

Scooby Doo 40k crossover idea. Shaggy - kroot, Scooby - kroot hound, Velma - tech priest, Daphne - navigator, Fred - free trader.
Dont know if someone had already told you but, the trist inccident was waaay before the imperium were complete aware what tyranids actually were.
The good chaplain Cassius being some of the few survivors of the first tyranid war. Remember genestealers were relationed with tyranids at this moment.
So cults have being around the Galaxy a long long Time.

The Bladed Cog: man, machine, and bioform in perfect union

They stayed behind in the ship during missions for the first 3 months
Until one day the pair left to buy groceries and by complete accident stumbled acros a Genestealer cult and escaped unscathed bearing crucial information which the team used to save the entire world.
Ever since then the pair has been dragged along on missions against their will and the team's success rate has remained at 99%
Hmmm? Why can the dog talk? Well, he can't tell Shaggy what he wants to eat if he couldn't could he?
Just don't think to hard about it. The Migraines and hallucinations about starving in a chair aren't worth it.
Together these brave heroes travel the galaxy solving mysteries and saving humanity one case at a time.
Great writing. I liked the part where Shaggy and Scooby are the cause for Ordos Misterious' success

52:59 Oh right I completely forgot there are Genestealers on Terra.
Patiently waiting for the deathwatch episode, no rush
One huge bonus the genestealers and their cults have over the Imperium is that they only need to worry about short term. Sure their plans are decades in the making but whats that compared to the endless centuries the Imperium wants to endure, or the hundreds of planets compared to a few hive cities that the cults gotta worry about
